I can definitely say there will not be one next week, as I will be enjoying the city of light. On that note, considering this is a hip international crowd, does anyone have any suggestions/tips for a Paris first timer? Thanks in advance!

slike an incredible trip! I have no advice to offer the closest I've been to Paris is New Orleans :) ;) There is so much to see and experiences in Paris I wouldn't know where to begin.

Re: Paris Mission Imposeeblay

Wishing you a passionate leave on your Parisian mission STOP advise that you retain Inspector Clouseau of the esteemed DizzyM Bureau should you meet any adverseries or henchmen who have protruding ears, waxy faces, who favor extremely tight suits by Sausage le Oeux, Sneeryle (on the Coast). The Inspector willfully advises the Louvre, of course, and a ride on the Seine... perhaps Versailles (a quick trip if all cylinders are blasting on the Bentley), awe inspiring sight and site, talk about Bond villain HQs! STOP Of coruse the Champs Elysee, Arc de Triomphe, and an interesting arch in the finance district STOP a church in Chartres if Cmdr DB is into stained glass windows STOP however, I realize you would like tip on a nice café or such, regrettably memory fails Cmdr. 0077 STOP however, perhaps you can send us all a special message when you arrive and we may remember the name of nice restaurant STOP Also, beware of pickpockets, remember your training! STOP also, many Parisians, especially older ones are actually very snobbish (based on fear they will be found out, of course), and very formal French is required for these boors .... younger people should not usually be so STOP just give out the friendly frequencies and you should meet many friendly folks, it works worldwide, can't let a few bad apples ruin the pie, etc. etc. STOP btw on a tangent: Bond Coincidence Dept: When 0077 was last in Paree, the mother of one of his Bond girls (from California), a great beauty (the daughter, that is), athlete, big brain .... she was in a tour bus going down the Champs Elysee, and guess who she Viewed ambling haphazardly, suave as Clouseau himself? Qui, it was Cmdr. 0077. Imagine, we didn't know one another's schedules, thousands of miles apart, and at that exact moment and space, wala! STOP final tip: as a Double O, remember you are suaver than any Parisian, you can raise your eyebrow better, curl your lip in a mock smile with more disdain, and say 'Banco' even at MacDonald's. :cake:
You move very well for a dead man, Mister Bond

Kill him!

Hi all!

The jet lag has just worn off enough for me to check in and say Paris is a fantastic city with fantastic people! The rudest person I met on the journey was a TSA screener in San Francisco! LOL! I saw all the major sights including Spectre HQ (The real Spectre not this nu age BS) and ate some wonderful meals, any way I won't bore you with all the details, I'll just say I had fun!

Hey all, just wanted to let you all know I'm still alive  After my vacation I came back to find the automotive restoration company restoring my classic british sports car is giving me the once over so I've been dealing with that and preparing a possible law suit. But enough about me, I fully intend to continue with my Spectre Introspective, if for no other reason that to take my mind off this madness. It will just take a little time until I can get my head clear, and find the time to do it. Thank you all for your support in my rants it keeps me coming back!

Capt! Where did you get that picture of my car!

Dealing with this clown would make for good practice as he did to me what Babzy did to Bond!

oh that sucks! Glad you are ok.

Never had a car worth restoring if I did I don't know who could be trusted with it. From the shows on tv their are either perfectionists who bankrupt you to restore a car to factory condition or charlatans out to bill for restoration that is little more than a paint job and recovered seats.

Thanks O!

This guy was definitely in the later column. I'm trying to do as much of the work myself (I was a mechanic in the Navy) in order to avoid the former, but body work is not my forte.

Just remembered the time when Craig said that "Austin Powers fucked them" and that they had to change everything becuse of that-which is already ridiculous-and then you have SP's "twist" about Blofeld being Craig-Bond's brother. Actually,Craig is right. Austin Powers fucked them. Just not in the way he thinks.

The idea was stupid on its own, but then combine it with the fact that Craig and the filmmakers expressed how Austin Powers ruined the image of James Bond just further adds to the stupidity. While the step-brother concept has had some scrutiny, most people seem to be taking it a little too well, from what I've been seeing. Perhaps it will become a bigger target of ridicule when Craig leaves the role.

But then again, I find the serious Bonds to get away with a little more. A few weeks ago, I saw a comment from someone saying how Bond surviving in Skyfall's pre-title sequence was not ridiculous as Jaws surviving in Moonraker's pre-title sequence, because it came after a "tough and gritty fight".

This last bit is the stupidest thing I have heard lately. By logic it should be quite the opposite. If the fight was all tough and gritty(how many times have heard those words) then Bond should actually have less energy and more injuries which would make it harder to survive.

We just keep hearing about how "tough" and "gritty" this reboot is which is apperantly a good thing. Personally my words to descibe this reboot would be "boring","depressing","pretentious" and since Blofeld/brother angle exists-"more vomiting than ever before".

It actually baffles me that the movie didn't get more bashing. It should have got waaaaaaay moree bashing than it did. Critics seem once again too spineless to say anything bad about the movie made by their favourite Sam Mendes.
Like Ian Dunross said Spectre achieved the state of art in cinematoc nihilism. Its a movie about nothing that attempts to be something even resetting Fleming's canon to have vomiting "origin" story.

To weigh in on the "gritty" vs. "goofy" (for lack of a better term) fight debate, ending such a fight with a high dive works less when it's supposed to be "gritty". It takes you out of the action when you watch this "realistic", "tense" and "dramatic" fight only for it to come crashing quite literally to a close. Whereas a more tongue in cheek fight ending with a high dive into a safety net is a little less jarring.

As for Craig's legacy, SP will be his DAD, generally accepted, but will be a punchline after his departure.

I really hope Spectre is Craig's last movie. He made four movies already and that's four movies too much.
