The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......

Post by Omega »

Their is a weird split on this with people like Sweeney say the script doesn't reflect what happens on screen when a director and actors preform it. I can't think of one example where it's true except for improv scenes .
The other thing out their the faithful eon supporters repeat was there were significant changes to the script everyone read. Which doesn't appear to be true either

There are plenty of reviews from pros and fans alike criticising the story.

Some seem to think it's a win if it's not as bad as qos which shouldn't be acceptable

I want to know how any bond fan accepts the spectre origins bs and the unbond ending ?

The script is of course just an idea of how the finished film should be even if everything is described in detail.

It's a bit disrespectful to say the script is all that matters, when there are many other talented people who help realize the ideas from the script into a film.

And things like cinematography and soundtrack you cannot read in the script.

I'm talking in general terms here, not about Spectre. I have no opinion about Spectre at all at the moment.

I haven't posted anything about Mr White. You're mistaking me for somebody else.

And do calm down a bit will you.
'Ale' was referring to me...............as i mentioned there is a scene in the film, in which Bond and White are discussing about the Spectre organisation, and Madelaine Swann!

Actually, regarding the script.....no one has mentioned that Bond talks to a rat in this film, mind you he is drunk at the time, Bond that is, not the rat! :)

'Omega'......Hi.........i think the thing is, obviously the script is the most important aspect, and you can get a feel for what the movie could turn out to be by reading it.......but how it is conveyed to the screen, with all the other elements combined in making a movie is another matter all together........for instance, lets say you had read the script to any of the previous Bond films, and based your conclusion, solely at that stage, i'am sure you would find dialogue, or scenes in the screenplay, in which you would think be unsuitable to be in a Bond movie.

Regarding, Spectre's origins......yes what are they?........the one in the film is just EON's interpretation, and not how we all might think how the organisation started.........we are just basically seeing the writers interpretation, whether we like it or not, it just depends on the individual...............i did personally think some of it was a bit, lets say weird............and obviously its based on Spectre originating in our current time period.

Regarding re-boots.........it was obviously a risky thing to do, and whether in the long run it turns out to be satisfactory, we don't know.
re-booting other popular film franchises has damaged them in some ways, eg the Alien and Terminator series.............as the writers get to a point where writing the scripts to make sense of everything, and the timelines, causes confusion.

If there was some large back lash from the public to the studio.........then i'am sure they would change direction.............but that isn't happening is it?, so who ever plays Bond in the next film, i think EON will still carry on giving us stories based on Bond's origins!

At the end of the day, we all will like or dislike certain aspects of any film, its story, its characters and so forth..........but that's life............if i don't like a particular film..........then i just think i hope the next one is better, or they do this and that in the next one.

My frustration with EON, is they never seem to learn from some of their mistakes..............the better films in the series seem to come after, a previous film has performed poorly, critically or financially, or both. Then, when EON have a film which turns out to be popular, the next film tends to be a lazy effort.

Blimey, i better go and have a lie down now! :)

I don't understand how any Bond fan can support the blasphemous direction Broccoli has taken her daddy's franchise to and will pay money to support such desecration of the iconic character. :cuss: FBF, are you now done with Tarantino after his latest disgrace?

I wonder if 'Putlocker'..........the online movie site that shows films and TV shows for free............even brand new films............will get there hands on a copy of Spectre, and put it on their website, before the film rolls out worldwide. Mind you they will certainly get a copy of the film during its early theatrical run........meaning that for people who don't want to go to the cinema and pay to watch the film, can watch it in the comfort of their home for free. Thats assuming if you want to watch the film at all anyway?

Like everything EON has done wasn't enough, they now changed the head of SPECTRE. Now it's Craig's brother who...wants to ruin thebworld becuase the father prefer Craig? I don't know if I should cry or laugh. Maybe both.
They could have easily make him the head of Quantum(that was some kind of organisation, wasn't it?) but I guess they didn't want to remind anyone that movie even exsists.

Bond is an orphan......the family that adopted Bond, it was there son who became Bonds nemesis.

I know what you mean though.......it was a bit of a stretch to the imagination, that EON decided to make this the case, but they obviously did this as they thought it would give them more impact with the story!

Can't remember..........but in the Fleming novels, was it ever written about the origins of Spectre, and its people!

The idea of Blofeld being Bond's step brother, is more cheesy than an explosion in a cheese factory.

I live in the UK, and though the film is now out, I shall wait for the DVD. I'll probably see it on DVD with my dad (also a long time Bond* fan).

Ernst's backstory was described in the books. What was that crap with the Skyfall lodge with Albert Finney dressed up as Father Christmas? If they had had that cobblers in a Brosnan movie all the Craig fans would go on about it like the invisible car.

For anyone curious the SP gunbarrel is on youtube. Though they've finally got the the look right.... just go and look for yourselves. About 20 seconds is all it takes, and they still can't get it right. And the music is a bland take on the gun barrel theme.

They should have just stuck with the gunbarrel style of the Brosnan era, and Craig's walk/turn still looks like crap.

GARBAGE :!:---------Don't expect Writing's on the Wall to become part of Sam Smith's regular live repertoire anytime soon. Or, at least in its original key.

The singer revealed on the Graham Norton Show that he's not in love with the James Bond theme—particularly, its too-high pitch.

"I'm dreading it," he said, before performing the song. "I'm absolutely dreading it." he told Norton before the performance.

"I’ve only sang the song once really. I did the demo in the studio, and they used that. It is horrible to sing. Horrible. I regret—no, I don’t regret it... It’s just so high."

How high is it, Sam? "I have to grab my balls, it's awful."

Exactly. the Brosnan era gunbarrel not only tipped it's hat to the classic Binder design, but also modernised it. It still looks modern even in 2015.
