Re: Movies you're looking forwards to
Maybe under movies I don't want to see. There is a story Sony wants to reboot ghostbusters with a all female cast.
I thought GB3 might be cool but a lame reboot with a female cast just to make it with a twist on the original is pissing on the original concept.
Their spiderman reboot should have taught them to back off messing with what works.
Not that GB is much more than a brilliant original movie but it such a classic I wouldn't mess with it. The Robocop reboot was a huge mistake IMHO

It still baffles me as to why they rebooted Spider-Man. Raimi's films were 10 times as good. The third wasn't as good as the first two, but it's not as awful as people make it out to be and still better than TASM2. Spider-Man 3 is on my list of under-rated, under-appreciated comic book movies list alongside Batman Forever, Green Lantern and Dredd.Omega wrote:Their spiderman reboot should have taught them to back off messing with what works.

I think Tobey Maguire was getting towards the point where he was too old to play Peter Parker convincingly. And it seems you can't just recast a lead role any more - you have to reboot the entire franchise.Kiwichris wrote:It still baffles me as to why they rebooted Spider-Man. Re: Movies you're looking forwards to
Stath wanted more money, methinks. However, I'm kind of skeptical of this actor and his choice of cheap suits. There already are two seasons of Transporter: The Series, in which Chris Vance plays the titular character, and I'm a big fan of it. Although, his portrayal is different than Stath's. He plays it more like Classic Bond rather than a former SAS veteran. We'll just wait and find out if Ed Skrein (the new actor) will prove me wrong.Daltonite Toothpaste wrote:Did The Stath not want to make another? Shame, I like the first 3.

The new Transporter films will probably be entertaining because of the team making it. But there is only one Frank Martin.
I've not heard of the tv series but it looks interesting.

Re: Movies you're looking forwards to
I knew there was a tv series, but I hadn't seen anything of it. Having just watched the trailer, the series look alright, I might look into picking the series up on DVD. Skrein in the new film, looks like a bland substitute for Statham, compared to Vance in the series.

Re: Movies you're looking forwards to
Agreed, Daltonite. However, I must tell you that the tv series are not as action packed as people expect it to be. It's... how can I put this? more of the lesser known every day adventures of Frank Martin, that also involve enthusiastic high octane speed chases and action moments, along with hell of fight sequences, but they are not as epic as the films, but very enjoyable nevertheless. By the way, if you are to watch the series, watch them in Canadian-aired order, for that's the right chronology to follow. The other countries messed it up.Daltonite Toothpaste wrote:I knew there was a tv series, but I hadn't seen anything of it. I also think that it is difficult for anyone else to br Frank Martin as it is an iconic Jason Statham vehicle.carl stromberg wrote:The new Transporter films will probably be entertaining because of the team making it. But there is only one Frank Martin.

Re: Movies you're looking forwards to
Well, just like how it was hard to see anybody in the role after Connery's departure from Bond. It goes like this. However, like I said, I'm sort of skeptical with Ed Skrein's casting, and I would have very much preferred if they were to keep Chris Vance in the role. The latter has uber-class. Portrays Frank Martin as a Classic Bond-type character rather than just a punch-in-the-face mercenary.Capt. I thought the Mad Max: Fury Road trailer was incredible so I'm looking forward to that next summer. I would have liked Mel Gibson back as an older Max but I'll give Tom Hardy a chance.
