I've actually read VERY positive reviews about Cloud Atlas from both viewers AND actors/directors. And I read earlier it's not doing big at box office but there was some twist to it (it wasn't a PR release so I did give it weight). I've entirely forgotten now. I know nothing about it so I have no idea whether it is ACTUALLY good or not.

If Skyfall doesn't do better than QoS in terms of absolute gross number in the UK (especially given inflation), EON can just shoot themselves, come on. I think it is a given that in the UK it WILL do better. The matter isn't the UK. It's the whole rest of the world.

HA, Daltonite Toothpaste! I really did like Dalton as Bond (see my nickname here, Pam Bouvier?), but I still think nobody can top Connery!

Well I just got back from a packed house at the Chiller Theatre convention in New Jersey. We ate at the Tipperary Pub right in the hotel. After we got seated, two celebrities, if you call them that, sat directly at the table to my right and the table to my left. At one table, the Exorcist herself Linda Blair http://chillertheatre.com/gt/blairl_a.jpg was seated with a part of 5 others(one was Sarah Karloff, daughter of Boris http://chillertheatre.com/gt/karloffs_a.jpg .) The band, the Dead Elvi were playing music in the adjoining room as you could see through the glass and hear them. For some reason, Linda Blair was getting up and wiggling her rear end towards my table and was dancing to the music. Nobody else from her table was dancing. Before we left, we did acknowledge her and she wished us well. At the other table was the wrestler Brutus The Barber Beefcake http://chillertheatre.com/gt/beefcakeb_a.jpg . He was really friendly to all. He sat alone and ate and people were coming over to him saying hello. Steven Tyler's ex-wife and the mother of Liv Tyler, Bebe Buell, http://chillertheatre.com/gt/buellb_a.jpg got on stage and shrieked out 2 songs. She was dread awful. My friend was her dentist years back and when she came off the stage he stopped her to reintroduce himself to Bebe and show her a picture of him with her daughter from years back and she remembered him. All in all I did not see either Barbara Carrera nor Caroline Munro but it was a fun time any way. We are bracing for a direct hit hurricane here starting Monday afternoon through Tuesday night. I hope I do not lose power here for days. A state of emergency has been declared by the Governors of both New York and New Jersey. Dr. No, does this storm affect you down south?

How can you utter such nonsense Ms. Bouvier? Don't you know Danielle Cr-egg is the greatest, the most stupendous, the most awe-inspiring actor of all of the Bond actors since 1962?  :spy:  He rates right up there with Gumby in the annuls of show business. Both are clay formed globs of gunk that talk and have careers in Hollywood.

No idea yet mate. Most are assuming a third increase. Either right on the money or too optimistic. Its the Uk, its Bond, it's hard to say. Natural to assume a increase but only with the same attendance levels .

I got Craig's previous numbers charted looking for some idea where this one will place.Tomorrow there will be PR with the estimated numbers I was hoping someone had leaked yesterdays numbers.
http://www.deadline.com/2012/10/james-b ... cerecords/ Skyfall‘s Friday opening day of £6.2M ($9.99M) also shattered Quantum Of Solace‘s previous recordholder of £4.9M. (It's not surprising given how often it is playing round the clock. Read the comments below the article as well.)

About right. No Question IMAX is helping, if deadline is any indication we are going to get a 20m headline no matter what from Sony, so I'll wait for the real numbers Monday right now I think it won't cross the threshold of 20m, although might come closer than I think.

At this moment it looks like about the same number of people who always go to the opening in the UK are going.

There are reports of selling out although those tend to be in higher populated areas where it's not all that difficult to sell out a theater. Sounds impressive hearing your mates say it sold out, however it doesn't take that many buts in the seats to full a cinema. I'd imagine there are some places are not seeing the same massive volume of business as others are describing.

Q, this guy makes sense. The plot is stolen from other Bond films and other franchises and is patched together and is lacking. I would have expected a $50 million USD opening weekend for this rubbish, given it's home court advantage in the UK and around the clock viewings. Only $7 million USD more than QOS in the UK opening weekend? Factor in inflation and IMAX and it's even less and NOT that impressive :!: In addition, Bonds 1-20 dealt with Bond dealing with the "world's" wrongs. DC's 3 films have dealt with Bond dealing with "his" own wrongs, in a time warped manner which makes NO sense to continuity, where in the end, which somehow now is the re-beginning, characters have been redefined, yet at the end of the film, it's square one again at the Dr. No character level. What kind of nonsense is this? Sweeney, THIS is what you deem as great? Good buddy, you and I are light years apart on what constitutes a proper, traditional Bond film. You equate uncontrolled poetic license to brilliance. I equate it to insanity. The franchise is done, and deservedly so now. Twilight will BURY this trashy and disturbing Bond film here weekend number 2.

The only way that this prequel makes any sense, is when you disregard the first twenty Bond films altogether. It's ignorant, but that's unfortunately what the producers want people to do.

Correct Saint. It all goes back to one comment out of the mouth of the green vegetable and I never forgot it, prior to CR's release: "doing book one as film 21 makes NO sense........but it's fun :!: "..............imagine if people with artistic brains actually inherited this franchise instead of the current non-dynamic duo? FBF, what gives? Bracing here for the calm before the storm. The spot where the Sandy lady hits the NE USA coast is Central New Jersey, just 15 miles SE of me. I hope the trees do not fall down causing massive power outages. In case it does, FBF carry on strongly here and defend our turf against the evil Eon this week :!:

My good friend's mother was just ordered to evacuate because she lives near the shoreline on the Rockaways. She has Manhattan daughters to stay with. People here are getting quite concerned now. I hope this storms veers east away from land :!:
