If thats true 'Stocks', then that is very good news for QOS from a business point of view.stockslivevan wrote:WB announced that Half-Blood Prince is delayed until July 17th, 2009. So for those who were hoping it would be a major threat for QOS, you're gonna have to look for another film to root for.![]()

Other than that, WOW. What's up with films getting release dates pushed back so often? First Valkyrie (the one with Tom Cruise as a nazi), then Star Trek, now Harry Potter. It's becoming a trend this year.

I'd argue that Williams' score for Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Thingy is right up there with his best work, achieving a far greater emotional range than we're used to from Williams.stockslivevan wrote:He was still good in the 60s from FRWL to YOLT, but I think the major turning point for Barry was with OHMSS. Since then he's just been flat out brilliant. It would be amazing for the series to ever have a composer of such brilliance. Hell it would be amazing for all music since we haven't had a memorable film score since arguably John Williams' The Phantom Menace.
I'm not doubting William's brilliance, I just feel his TPM score was pretty much his last brilliant work, still the work afterwards trumps most scores these days. It's also amazing how Danny Elfman was becoming a great composer and just sometime in the late 90s he lost that touch.Kristatos wrote: I'd argue that Williams' score for Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Thingy is right up there with his best work, achieving a far greater emotional range than we're used to from Williams.
I think HP3 > Phantom Menace, and that came later.stockslivevan wrote:I'm not doubting William's brilliance, I just feel his TPM score was pretty much his last brilliant work, still the work afterwards trumps most scores these days. Still none of it would have the gravitas of Pierce adverting Ford.
Craig in a Ford Focus is believable, we see Pierce in one and we wonder what the hell happened? Did Goldfinger capture him at the supermall and he make good his escape in a mall bunny's sweet ride? Is this an escape pod from his Aston Martin?
When I went to see FYEO in the cinema, one of the 3 (I think) Citroens used in the filming of that sequence was on display in the foyer, complete with bullet holes. The Sweeney wrote:Didn't we see Moore drive in a crappy Citroen once?
Naaah! I Must have dreamt it....
Or product placement that started in DAD.John Drake wrote:I thought the Citroen was a nice twist on the usual Bond car chase. I think Cubby said it was an intentional in-joke to use an everday Citroen after going a bit overboard with Moonraker. I'm not quite sure what the rationale is for putting Craig in a Ford minicar. Maybe they want to make him look even more ordinary in this one.
