How will the Craig era be viewed?

It's watching it-whilst "over and over" wouldn't be the right way to put it..it hasn't gotten better with time. It'll be the sort of movie I only watch once a year.

Ah, a Summer Breeze brings a breath of fresh air. Welcome to this marvelous 'fortress of Bond solitude'. I do not think there will be much moderation on changing viewpoints with Craig. He has been too controversial and the climate still remains a tense one. Enjoy it here.
Thank you. I'm sure I will.

But are you saying that you will not see the next movie because of Craig? Or will you see it knowing you will give it a bad review?

I said before that I thought DC was a weird choice. But I enjoyed the movie a lot. I saw it a few times in the theatre and then it fell in my view when I saw it on dvd. Like katied, I will see it again but not as often as I did last year.

I am going to see the next movie and will go with an open mind though. I think DC is a good actor and if all the other aspects of the movie fall into place, then I'll still enjoy it, and DC as James Bond.

Is it not possible that some people that think Daniel Craig is God will see him as just a good actor and adequate Bond while others that disliked him might also see him as a good actor and adequate Bond?

It will be seen and compared to the rest of the 21 other Bond films. Everyone's opinions will be interesting.

Personally I do consider DC to be a talented actor that potentially could be a good Bond. With the right style of Bond film and a far more refined performance, I think he could do the franchise justice. My fear is that QOS will be more of the same with an ageing/rookie Bond struggeling to comprehend his life, work and a one night fling.

Given that premise alone Skywalker, how could QOSTBM ever redeem itself with an ageing rookie still in the role of Bond? That is one of the 3 key issues that exists with Craig, in addition to the reboot and his overall appearance.

"aging rookie"?

I think that Craig is the right age for the part. A man would have to have a lot of experience to get to double o' status. I hear people put down George Lazenby for being too young. I know that was later in James Bond's career tho.

I don't think that Craig's Bond is a rookie. He is just a rookie 00. If you look at it that way, you can see him as the right age for the promotion.

Mr. Craig is not matinee idol good looking. But from what I read in the books, neither was James Bond. We just expect it because Connery was so hot.

As I recall, there were lots of comments in the books about Bond "looking like a film star".

Kris beat me too it! In the Moonraker novel that girlie says he is film star handsome. Bond is a bit of a tough customer who has been beaten up a few times, but he is a handsome man, as the woman in your avatar said in the From Russa, with Love novel.

Fleming's Bond got his 00 licence for a couple of kills during the Second World War when he would have been in his mid to late 20's. The "Craig as a rookie Bond" element was made all the worse by Daniel looking a bit older than he actually is!

Yes, I think Cavill or Worthington would have been much more believable.

Daniel Craig does look a bit older than he is. His acting skills must have won me over.

And I don't like any of the pretty boys that were mentioned as being up for the role.

When I said matinee idol, I guess I meant teen idol. The likes of Cliff Richards. Daniel Craig could be more like Brando, very rough looking. Not pretty.

I am not trying to sway you tho. I know the name of the site. :)

And that there was something cruel about his face. I see a lot in the book would comment "handsome but rough looking". I think Craig fits that bill, you can't deny that plenty of women found him handsome. :)

I'll use a recent photo of him at the Flashbacks of a fool premiere.

He looks like novel Bond to me. The only thing he lacks is dark hair and a scar on the cheek. :P
