How will the Craig era be viewed?
How do you think the Craig Bond era will be viewed in 10-15 years time?
With Brosnan, the fashionable consensus seems to be that GoldenEye was good, and was followed by some so-so films (I do not subscribe to this consensus).
Will people look upon Casino Royale as overated? Or a false dawn followed by some by the numbers Bond films?

I think there is a possiblity it maybe ridiculed, why Brozza is critisised is beyond me.
I think Daniels Bond is more Bourne than Bond, the taste in clothes the less than subtle approch to missions. I dont think Daniels Bond is very bright and more of a rent a thug.

I think you can judge his tenure at any point in time whether this be good or bad. It may well be the case that I enjoy QOS and you hate it.Arthur Brain wrote:Its too early for any of us to say at this point, as we have only seen one film so far to make any sort of judgement.............and the next film could be quite different!. We really need to see DC in at least 3 Bonds before we make any sort of real judgement as his tenure in the Bond role.

Yes, but is it really fair to judge a movie by just watching five minutes of a random scene? At least that's how I see it with Craig's tenure. By DAD (before Brosnan quit) I was already starting to form an opinion on Brosnan's tenure.katied wrote:People are entitled to their opinion
Like for Timothy Dalton, I can't really judge it the same way I can for Connery and Moore. Dalton and EON weren't given the chance to really get find their stride. They were still experimenting with Dalton's tenure as much as they did with Roger Moore in LALD and TMWTGG. So I view it as an unfinished tenure, just as I view Craig's at the moment.
Let things clear out and then we'll get the big picture. Now if this was a thread solely about the longevity of Casino Royale's popularity, then that's more suitable.

Daniel Craig is ok. I thought he was a weird choice but he's a good actor and made it work.
I think some supporters will mellow as will some haters. It's a Bond movie and the action and stories are as important as the actor. It's hard to say how he'll be seen in the long run because we don't even know how many movies he'll make.

Ah, a Summer Breeze brings a breath of fresh air. Welcome to this marvelous 'fortress of Bond solitude'. I do not think there will be much moderation on changing viewpoints with Craig. He has been too controversial and the climate still remains a tense one. Enjoy it here.Summer Breeze wrote:Daniel Craig is ok. I thought he was a weird choice but he's a good actor and made it work.

Just curious, was it seeing his appearance over and over or his acting, or both, sweet Katied?katied wrote:^Ain't that the truth.I used to be one of those people that was in LOVE with Daniel Craig.I still like him but not to the extent that I did when CR first came out.I guess that makes me a heretic
