He's contracted for 3 - and CR is far and away a bigger hit than TLD was.....looks like you won't be granted your wish.Capt. Sir Dominic Flandry wrote:That's what I was going to say. I would have liked to have seen Dalton's wonderful interpretation of Bond more. Hopefully Craig will emulate Dalton....and make two Bond movies.
Who do you prefer Dalton or Craig?

Personally I prefer The Living Daylights to Casino Royale; maybe I'm alone in that.
Dalton was dark and handsome, and although he tried to cut down on the humour to try and portray a darker Bond, he was mildly charming. Craig, on the other hand, was far too OTT. Dalton did not have to embark on a six month intensive body building course in a desperate attempt to look tough and shore up any shortcomings in the looks and charm department. Dalton did not have to work hard to play Bond. He was hired and turned up for work at the last minite after The Living Daylights had started shooting. Craig can't really do humour, he can't play the stereotypical hero roles (which is why he nomally plays oddball types). He looks nothing like James Bond. The critics and fans on the forums who loved Craig as Bond will be the first to admit that. Read the Fleming books again and you will note that Bond is tall, dark and handsome, not some stocky musclebound grim-faced unalluring oaf..
I can only conclude that everyone is bored with Bond and therefore loved the imitation Bourne/24 movie that Casino Royale turned out to be.

i prefer the Living Daylights, and License to Kill over Casino Royale.
better Bond, better looking Bond girls, just bad timing. i remember my friends going off about how Dalton wasn't right in the part because he didn't make jokes like Roger Moore. I was sort of amazed at that, since I thought Octapussy and a View to a Kill were both pretty lame. and when LTK came out it got clobbered by the Batman juggernaut that summer. like I say, bad timing. Casino Royale had no real competition in the action department when it came out.

Without a doubt, Timothy Dalton. I dislike Craig for many reasons, but I really liked Dalton's rather different portrayal of Bond. He had something that was different from the others - maybe not as much charm, but he was very good in my opinion. My favourite out of his two films is The Living Daylights.

They tried something a bit different with their Bonds. But Dalton looks like Bond whilst Daniel does not which may mean that I will not enjoy his Bonds as much.

Timothy Dalton was better and he is underrated too.
I had a theory that Daniel Craig's Bond era would be seen as a disappointment and be dismissed like Dalton's. But the more flims Daniel Craig makes the more he will become a member of the Bond establishment.

Re: Who do you prefer Dalton or Craig?
Is that even a question? Timothy Dalton hands down. I love LTK, despite it being too violent for my taste, it has my favorite couple of Bond girls, Timothy Dalton and Carey Lowell had great chemistry, the villain was an actual villain, and Timothy Dalton LOOKED AND BEHAVED like James Bond is supposed to. Not to mention the movie had ALL the elements Bond is required to have. Moneypenny, Q, gadgets, and one of the all-time best couple of Bond girls. Plus Felix Leiter. AND JAMES BOND. James Bond is nowhere to be found where Daniel Craig is concerned.
"Are we on coms?"
