Fantastic opener to the London Games. But I have to call BS on one scene--Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and Daniel Craig as James Bond parachuting into the stadium?

It as a show piece was OK. Craig looked like mute bodyguard for most of it. His competition with the puppies was beneath any man.

It was better than the rumored knighting of "Bond"

Ah I see. But to be fair, Bond is british (unlike Batman or Superman) and has been going for a considerable amount of time (unlike Potter). So I can understand why they got Craig:Bond involved, even though I don't like this current era of Bond.


And it's a pity there wasn't a bigger reference to Doctor Who.

Oh I agree on Matt Smith. Unlike Craig as Bond, I really like Smith as The Doctor, he is one of my favourite incarnations as everyone's favourite Timelord. Bring on Series 7.

I liked the idea behind Bond escorting the Queen to the Olympic Stadium, but how horrific did Daniel Craig look? His face has defied the natural age process as he looks like he should be claiming his state pension.

I think it's great that Bond is being recognised for the British icon he is. It's just a shame that the Olympics occured when he was being played by the Pouting Gnome (the one David Bowie didn't write a song about).

Purefoy tested for Goldeneye. He's 48 now. He'd be a minimum of 50 when the next Bond film is made. His time has come and gone.

I was aware that he'd tested for GE. I think he admited that he may have messed his audition up. I think he would have been better starting in 2000, that would have put him at 36. Say he did 5 films, one every other year, that would mean:

2000, 2002, 2004, 2006 & 2008.

Though I think he could still have been Bond this year, for the right Bond (one I like/would have liked ), 5 is a good number of films.
