Fans throw their weight behind two different Bond 23 names.
by Chris Tilly, IGN UK
UK, February 15, 2010 - With moviemakers MGM running out of Ian Fleming titles for the next James Bond movie, two rival sets of fans are lobbying to name Bond 23 from the author's back catalogue.
According to the Daily Star, one set of fans is putting forward Risico, a short story originally written as part of the For Your Eyes Only novelettes. Back in 2007, this title was briefly mooted as a title for Bond 22.
However, a rival group is throwing its weight behind The Property of a Lady, another Ian Fleming short story.
Sam Mendes is set to direct Bond 23, and an MGM executive said they were certainly open to ideas on the name front.
"The title of Bond 23 is still in the melting pot and it's true that there aren't that many of Fleming's major works to choose from. We and Sam are listening very closely to what the fans are saying and there is every possibility that we might latch on to one of their ideas."

Re: Bond Title Battle
Feels like a made up story. They have never asked fans for suggestions naming a movie. Never. If this is true Bond 23 is in deeper trouble than we knew.

Re: Bond Title Battle
The story never said anything about asking fans for suggestions. It feels more like a non-story, filling space with stuff people are saying on the Internet as if it actually meant something. You may as well write a story about how one group of teenagers thinks that (insert name of manufactured pop band du jour) is teh roxxorz, whilst a rival camp dissents from this view, advancing the theory that they are actually teh suxxorz.Omega wrote:Feels like a made up story. The story comes from a newspaper.
That should tell us all something.
"Now what can we write about any upcoming Bond film?....Ahhha, I've got it....two rival groups of Bond fans...."
