Judi Dench Due To Film 'Bond 23' In Spring Of 2011

We know a 23rd James Bond film is coming and we know Daniel Craig will return for his third go as the suave-yet-happy-skull-bashing British spy. But will "Bond 23" actually arrive in 2011, as previously announced? Daniel Craig recently declared filming would begin shooting late in 2010.
When MTV News had a chance to chat with Judi Dench (Bond's elegant overseer, M, in six previous films), the legendary British actress said she likely won't be on set for another two years.
"I think I'm going to be needed in spring of 2011," she said. "That's a message I got. It would mean I could do something at the end of next year, something else, maybe be in the theater."
The discrepancy in the two actors' timelines is surely explained by the fact that Dench usually only appears in a handful of scenes, whereas Craig carries the entire film. So all still seems on track for a 2011 opening.
Past "Bond" scribes Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, as well as "Frost/Nixon" writer Peter Morgan, have been hired to pen the script. A search is still on for a director, after "Quantum of Solace" director Marc Forster passed on an opportunity to return for "Bond 23."
For her part, Dench can't wait for the chance to reunite with Craig. "I just think he'll go on from strength to strength," she said. "He's a fantastically good actor."

As an aside,I like Dame Judi, and she seems like she's up for playing M as long as she can...but with a possible year and a half/2 year wait between Bond films, that might change.

I like Dame Judi too, but felt that she shouldn't have played M in Casino of Solace due to the way it messed up the Bond timelines.

speaking of timelines I think if cubby had rebooted the series he would have gone with a younger looking m , just to show the difference in their age to the first movie. Didn't bond work for m like 12 years before the first book?

In Dr. No (the movie), Sir Miles was supposed to be a new M, meeting Bond for the first time. It also appeared to be his first meeting with Major Boothroyd, though he seemed to know Moneypenny already. Mind you, Bond also explicitly states that he has never met Felix Leiter before, so they messed that one up too.

Not with Babs calling the shots.
Still its a long way off, like many other franchise 3rd or 4ths. It might come along faster if they can make the movie without any money.
It'll come along a lot faster if they put off the 2 other movie projects and possibly the 3rd movie of Rainy day Craig's seldom ventured theater outing.

If there is a year or two gap between the next few Bond films, me might get Dame Judi's M using a walker

Tell me Kris, did it bother you that Bernard Lee played M with Connery, Lazenby and Moore?
Or Robert Brown with Moore and Dalton?
I suspect not.
Though the Bond timeline (if there is one) has been out of line long before the franchise so called re-boot and the casting of Craig.
Favorite Bond Movie: The Dark Knight Trilogy, Mission: Impossible, Kingsman: The Secret Service and The November Man or any upcoming actioners starring Pierce Brosnan (no, it's not James Bond which is good since it will help him expand his reputation as an actor especially in the action realm)
