Re: Daniel Craig - Fleming's Bond?
I think the article said Craig is just another interpretation of Bond; that Craig does not like Bond, but Fleming was a little vague about the appearance of Bond (before Connery); and that Craig's Bond can get closer than the other Bondsto some aspects of Fleming's work.
Cobblers! No, it was an interesting article.

Re: Daniel Craig - Fleming's Bond?
It was interesting.
The cruel looks I think were accurate as being a internal Bond reflection. M compares Bond to a movie star so obviously he had traditional good looks as the 1950 ascribed. Bond eschewed the notion of movie star good looks M proffered. So he had self esteem issues (like some chicks I've known.)
Also ignores some of the early Connery bloodied and bruised movies. Craig also got the torture scene wrong in CR, although it was inspired by the book but quickly revised to suit Craig.
Craig misses the essential Bond beyond looks. Based on looks alone he should be kicked to the curb, Based on attitude he should be thrown from the bus.
Fleming Bond was very well served by Connery, but not the Connery on the football field. The Connery of the football field was left there while the dapper and sophisticated Connery came out of the shadows to embody Bond most suitably.
