Of course the fact the's constantly shooting her mouth off when she shouldn't might not be great for her career either.

Poor girl. Maybe we should offer to make her a celebrity guest moderator? I'm sure that will do her career wonders
Arterton Fears 'Career Crash' After Bond
8 October 2008 5:09 AM, PDT | From wenn.com |
Bond girl Gemma Arterton is concerned her appearance in Quantum Of Solace may spell the end of her Hollywood career.
The British actress, who plays Agent Fields in the forthcoming 007 movie, has admitted she's taking a risk by playing the superspy's female sidekick - because former Bond girls have seen film offers dry up after taking on the role.
But the St Trinians star isn't too concerned with the prospect of a stalled career - because she doesn't think too far into the future.
She tells Britain's Daily Express, "Luckily, I haven't had time to reflect but appearing with 007 carries the threat of a career crash, as has happened in the past. Sometimes it closes doors.
"I'm going to get compared but I'm not worried about it. My attitude to everything is just deal with what's in front of me. I don't tend to think far ahead."

And they;re making a sequel to St. Trinians. That's the kind of roles she can get after Bond? She's doomed.Dame Judi Dench she is not.

She might want to look in to keeping her mouth shut.Kristatos wrote:http://us.imdb.com/news/ni0580128/

Her and the other girl have done more to damage the film than if Craig came right out and said "I'm the Syl Stallone of Bond!"

She's getting rave reviews currently for Tess of the d'Urbervilles on the BBC. In a couple of years she'll probably regret doing a Bond film bimbo part.

Yeah, she had a bit of revival a few years back on That 70s Show.katied wrote:LOL Tanya Roberts does ads for some timeshare place .I hear them on the radio every so often. How the mighty have fallen
I can't think of many Bond Girls that go on to success beyond Bond. Ursula Andress made a few movies but I can't think of one I noticed her in.
Most of the Bonds and Bond villains don't do to hot after Bond

Pretty much. Arteton wouldn't have to say anything stupid and career would still never go much beyond Bond. That's just the way it is, even for Bond actors themselves with the exception of Sir Sean Connery.Dr. No wrote:Yeah, she had a bit of revival a few years back on That 70s Show.katied wrote:LOL Tanya Roberts does ads for some timeshare place .I hear them on the radio every so often. How the mighty have fallen

Film stars typically call that a career crash, relegating to TV star status, hence why very few big movie stars ever guest in a television show. I think Brad Pitt has been one of the very few exceptions.Kristatos wrote:What's "that", top billing in one of the highest-rated TV shows in the US?Dr. No wrote: teri hatcher..... no, I don't think anybody wants that

While we're at it, what happened to Rosamund Pike? I think Gemma will have a good career. Everyone loved her in Tess of the d'Urbervilles over here recently. Plus she comes from the same neck of the woods as me and blurted out that DC wears shoe-lifts. I won't hear a bad word spoken agaisnt her.

Rosamund has been in a bunch of b movies(the sort of stuff they show on cable-especially Sci Fi)late at night.
Re: Arteton fears career crash after Bond
That used to be the case, but now that we're entering a new golden age of quality TV, I think television is gaining a prestige that it didn't have before.stockslivevan wrote:Film stars typically call that a career crash, relegating to TV star status, hence why very few big movie stars ever guest in a television show. Honor Blackman has long Filmography (including a Doctor Who Trial of a Time Lord) most of the Bond girls were unknowns who only made a film or two before and after their 007 début. Certainly there are plenty of Bond girls who continued on to have a great career. Maryam d'Abo went on to find many good roles after Bond, actually finding more work than Timothy has after Bond. Albeit most of her jobs are TV roles.Dr. No wrote:ISn't she the same girl from the high heels revelation?

Presactly. Comparing Teri Hatcher to Brad Pitt is disingenuous, because Hatcher was never an A-list star. She was known from TV, but Paris Carver was probably her biggest film role. You could argue that going from 4th billing in TND to top billing in Desperate Housewives is actually a step up rather than a step down.Blowfeld wrote:Honor Blackman has long Filmography (including a Doctor Who Trial of a Time Lord) most of the Bond girls were unknowns who only made a film or two before and after their 007 début.

Her whole claim to fame when Tomorrow was in production was The New Adventures of Superman, I don't think her career was hurt at all, however I do wish they (007 Producers) had passed on casting her in a talking role.Kristatos wrote:Presactly.
