Craig Adds Inches For Bond

JAMES BOND star DANIEL CRAIG was forced to wear stacked heels during the making of the new 007 film - because his co-star GEMMA ARTERTON is so much taller than him.

The actor stands 5 foot 10 inches tall (1.9 metres) but comes up short when 5 foot 7 inch (1.7 metre) Arterton wears high heels - so movie bosses insisted the star add some extra inches with a pair of special shoes.

Arterton insists that Craig was forced to wear the stacked heels in all of her scenes with her in forthcoming Bond movie Quantum of Solace.

She says, "Daniel is 5ft 10in but when you put me in heels, I was taller than him and it didn't look good on screen. The whole point of Bond is that he is masculine and hunky.

"And he has to be taller than his girlfriend. Daniel had to wear special shoes with a lift in them and stacked heels for a few scenes."

But the actress admits Craig is unfazed by his height issues.

She adds, "He took it very well. He thought it was funny. I teased him about it. He took it on good humour."

I've long suspected that DC isn't 5'10. I remember watching him in a film with David Morrissey years ago and Morrissey looked huge next to Craig. Morrissey is 6'1 I believe. Oh well. James Bond with lifts in his shoes. What they could do next time, and this is a crazy idea I know, is cast some tall handsome actor with black hair.

BS Craig is not 6th tall. 5ft 10-11in at best.
Really disingenuous to post something you know is BS Sweeney. Otherwise I respect you, you know I do, but I also know you know this isn't true.
Craig was short next to Kidman ( 5' 10½") at the Oscars and there was a picture of him in a movie with an actress at the beach in bare feet that show his height well under 6ft.
I can't remember the name of the movie or I would have tried to find a photo of it..................

How is this gutter trash? It's a comment from a co-star. She's obviously excited to be in a Bond film and can't stop herself from blabbing about the shoot, much to the annoyance of Eon I suspect.

It's difficult to tell how tall an actor is sometimes. I must admit though, Craig looks quite shortish in this new still I found from Quantum Of Solace.

It's obvious is only 5'9 - 5.10. He has short arms and is quite stocky. His shortness was made even more apparent by his bodybuilding.

Even though he is - i feel - odd looking and short, he was still popular for many people as Bond. So I don't think his fanatical supporters should get annoyed when the fact that he is short is pointed out.

Okay so he's 1 or 2 inches shorter than the other actors. Like Sweenster says, have your short lived fun.
Though at 5'10" Craig is average height for a British male.

And we know they are wrong because when standing next to 6ft tall person Craig if dwarfed. Standing next to 5ft 10in adn 5ft 7in women he wasn't tall enough. We are nto talking about Famke Janssen here.
beside we all know who made hight an issue, Barbara Broccoli.
Barbara Broccoli made it an issue when she said Ewan McGregor was 'too short' for Bond.
She also said Hugh Jackman was "too fey", Colin Farrell was "too sleazy", Eric Bana was written off as "not handsome enough". I think Craig has checked at all of those boxes at least once and some of them twice

Doesn't suprise me in the least. No way is this man 5'11. Craig's posture doesn't help either. He has an awful tendancy to slouch. His height, or lack of it, was always going to be a problem for some people because James Bond is supposed to be the archetypal Alpha Male. You can mask height onscreen to a certain degree but I can't be the only person tempted to go back to Casino Royale and look at his footwear more carefully. I think Eon will have to have a polite word with Miss Arterton to keep quiet from now on in.
