The Bond Ultimatum could be a lot worse than The Bourne Mimicry if Craig stays on.

ropey nothing.there are times he sounds funny on his own with no accent.Terry wrote: If you've seen Tomb Raider or Munich it's pretty obvious Craig is a tad ropey when it comes to accents.

Angelina is the one who shouldn't do accents. She always sounds...strange when she does accents. As does Craig.

QOS number 22 in USA and done internationally except for Japan. NOT what Eon wanted.

BJ, what's the current BO figures like now, for worldwide and US? How much behind CR is it now?

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
About $3 million US and $60 million worldwide, last time I checked. The Sweeney wrote:BJ, what's the current BO figures like now, for worldwide and US? How much behind CR is it now?

So it looks like it could top CR in the US? Interesting. Looks like you guys have really taken to him, State-side.Kristatos wrote:About $3 million US and $60 million worldwide, last time I checked. The Sweeney wrote:BJ, what's the current BO figures like now, for worldwide and US? By the end of its run, I wonder how much behind CR it will be worldwide.
Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Nope, its US theatrical run is pretty much over, and worldwide, it only has Japan left to open. It is extremely unlikely to top CR unless it makes twice as much money in Japan as the last couple of Bond films. The Sweeney wrote:So it looks like it could top CR in the US?

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Let's figure it out. The budget was $230 million to produce and $170 million to market and advertise worldwide(USA was $50 million supposedly;$120 million internationally). Eon received $75 million approximately for product placement. The NET cost for TBM was roughly $325 million, give or take a million. TO DATE, this Bourne rubbish has taken in $540 million totally, after a huge opening and a swift downward falloff. The studios keep about 50% of the total worldwide take, therefore, TBM, also known as Quantum Of Soul-less, has returned $270 million to Eon's bank account. Do the math, and so far, they are LOSING $55 million to date. Japan awaits, and probably another $15-20 million will be generated, so the total worldwide take will be around $560 million, with $280 million going to Eon, with a net $45 million LOSS. Who spends $325 million to only take back $280 million? Was it arrogance by Eon to presume public stupidity? DVDs will give it revenue, but not what CR did. Eon expected a nice increase to CR's $594 million take, wouldn't you say? That is NOT what they received, and this gives me more than a Quantum Of Solace! The Sweeney wrote:BJ, what's the current BO figures like now, for worldwide and US? How much behind CR is it now?

That's a lot of math and accounting. Are you sure EON will lose money on QOS? That seems hard to believe since Bond films are always profitable.

Don't forget this was made before the global recession. I wonder if they would spend as much money now, given the fact that Sony has just made mass redundancies.bjmdds wrote:Let's figure it out. Not always. LTK didn't make its money back after 7 years. Which means after GE revitalised the frachise it still had not broken even.LilleOSC wrote: That seems hard to believe since Bond films are always profitable.

Really? I didn't know LTK was so unsuccessful. Is that partly why they waited so long to do GE?Mazer Rackham wrote:Not always. LTK didn't make its money back after 7 years. Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Maybe. I think the legal battles had more to do with it. Although the investors were not eager about another Dalton film. I think they said the films before LTK broke even and the investors more than anyone wanted a new Bond. If GE had flopped or faltered in some way it would have been the end of the frachise right there.LilleOSC wrote:Really? I didn't know LTK was so unsuccessful.
