Opening wide with 3,285 theaters and a large fanbase behind it during a Summer release. Three advantages that Defiance didn't have. What a "fair" comparison. Do you work for FOX?bjmdds wrote:Foolish statements Stocks. R-rated Sex and The City blew the box office numbers out of site with a small budget to boot(budget =$65 million;gross = $415 million)

It's hard not to deny that his non-Bond films haven't exactly been hits. I seem to recall a lot of problems with The Invasion-there were a lot of reshoots on that one, plus IIRC they changed the release date several different times.
Flashbacks Of a Fool disappeared before most people had a chance to see it. It'll have a cult following on DVD with completist Craig fans.

You could say the same for Connery during his tenure as Bond.bjmdds wrote:Craig has his Bond image and notoriety and Eon's plastering of his mug on all major magazines. Surely such a well regarded actor
should be able to do better than he has been doing, correct?

Re: BJMDDS's nickname for Bond 23
Connery was NOT annointed THE BEST ACTOR EVER TO PLAY BOND, as did Eon, in regards to Craig, correct? In that light,Craig is a no-show at the B.O. outside of Bond and is a false positive assertion by Eon.stockslivevan wrote:You could say the same for Connery during his tenure as Bond.bjmdds wrote:Craig has his Bond image and notoriety and Eon's plastering of his mug on all major magazines. Well I guess EON have an opinion of there lead actor, just like everyone else.
They're not going to proclaim Craig to be 'the best actor we could find for the money' are they?
I think he's the best Bond since Dalton myself. Whilst I understand many of your grievances with Craig, he does have the qualities that make a good Bond. For some of us, it's clearly not an issue.

EON would love to think he has some sort of box office cache outside of Bond..As if!

Why are some of you more concerned about Craig outside of Bond?
All the other Bond actors have made films away from Bond. Post, during and after there Bond career.
It shouldn't be an issue. Whether his films win or lose at the box office, Craig has made two extremely successful Bond films.
FACT!

We've established that his non-Bond movies have pretty much all been flops and had some sort of problem(has anyone heard anything about I Lucifer, which he was supposed to be in with Ewan Mc Gregor, in a while? I think not, and I rest my case.)

Because he's already so successful at Bond that BJ is running out of ideas on how to attack him so he go for his non-Bond films.Captain Nash wrote:Why are some of you more concerned about Craig outside of Bond?

Bj wouldn't do that. Especially not with his henchwoman at his side to back him up.
Maybe he would.

You Only Bourne Twice is a classic.
It seems BJMDDS is annoying people simply by being right about the Craig Bond era.
Bring back Bond!

We've got what, a few years before the next Bond movie-we don't even have a title or a plot-and I'm already referring to it as You Only Bourne Twice
