I don't want to depress anyone but it appears (from this Q & A) that Christoph Waltz will be back as Blofeld. Which probably means Craig will be back for some sort of Spectre continuation.

“What you have, obviously, is a sort of creation story of how Blofeld came to be,” Mendes said, adding, “We find out how he got that scar. Of course he is alive again, so I may not have a job next time, but Christoph does.”

Waltz was asked if he was ready to shave his head for the next Bond film. “No, definitely not,” he said.

There were several Blofeld actors so now there could be another Bond actor the way things are going. Continuity means NOTHING to this regime.

  so now it's not how "Bond became Bond" now its "how Blofeld became Blofeld".
Pathetic.

bjmdds wrote:Mendes has also said he would not return to helm a third Bond film and in an interview with Deadline, he explained why. "The pronouncements after the last movie were taken seriously and I then had to undo them when I agreed to make this movie. Without giving too much away, the difference here for me is, this movie draws together all four of Daniel’s movies into one final story, and he completes a journey. That wasn’t the case last time. There is a sense of completeness that wasn’t there at the end of Skyfall, and that’s what makes this feel different. It feels like there’s a rightness to it, that I have finished a journey. I’m not talking about Daniel here because Daniel may absolutely turn around six months’ time and feel his energy renewed. Or he might say just the opposite. If he is as sensible as I think he is, he needs to go away and have some time to think and do another job that’s completely different, which he’s already doing with Othello." If this were the last film for both Craig and Mendes, it would not be surprising as the movie does tie together several plot elements, but there has long been a rumor that Daniel Craig's contract was for five films. Producer Michael G Wilson confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that while Craig does not have a contract for a fifth 007 film, he is confident they will have him returning for one more.       :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss:
Yeah,Sam,you and Craig should both go away and do your "artsy" stuff since you both obviously think Bond is beneath you(not like what you've done is Bond but anyway...")

Omega wrote:What? He does not have a contract for 5 total ?

WTF !? It's common knowledge he had three to start with and after skyfall it was extended to two more. 5 in all
Maybe, the original media source, that reported he had signed a 2 picture contract, before Skyfall was released, was incorrect. In which case, it should have said, he'd signed for 1 more. By the time that report was released, all the other reporters in the world, latched onto it and there we are...

We are outsiders looking in. What gets discussed; between Daniel Craig, the studio's and the producers, behind closed doors, is pure guess work.

What mystery? Any mystery that Bond had, has been removed due to the reboot.
LOL that's a laugh if staring in to space and pouting is supposed to be mystery then I'm batman, craig is about as much james bond as My foot and yeah agreed he's ruined bond now along with this uneeded shoddy forced artsy garbage reboot that's done nothing but piss on 40 years of this once great franchise (now that I've seen kingsman I can happily say that's what bond is missing today, WAKE UP EON), I don't care if bond is dark, dark isn't always fun infact it's usually very boring if that's all a character is, hence why i didn't bother with man of steel (no offense to Caville but I hate what superman is now).

Also the news about Brocolli wanting to keep Craig is insulting, he bites the hand that feeds him and he's allowed off and that's truly disgraceful, the guy should be happy he's even got this popular (not that I enjoy it again mind) instead of acting like our footballers who get all the money in the world whether they win or lose and complain how difficult it is), if I could don that tux, have that lifestyle I'd be over the moon, again like Capaldi with doc who we need a real actor who wants to be bond instead of someone who wants to get in bonds head, bring back his mystery, leave his personal issues somewhere else and let him just do his job and ENJOY IT FOR ONCE.

I will never watch spectre and if I ever do it will be if someone I know rents it as I'm not giving Eon or anyone else who thinks the old fans are below them a penny, kingsman 2 on the otherhand will get My money as they've ticked all the right boxes (screw bond until it ever goes back to what its supposed to be I don't want too gritty, dull, pretentious, moody bs, get your arthouse bs out of My bond and give him a goddamn spine back).

If I was craigs employer he would've been sacked by now you never slag off your employers, seems like one rule for them and another for the rest of us.

Craig will return in for your money only.

Well said.

I cannot bring myself to watch Spectre, even if its thrust upon me on a dvd. It had taken a huge effort to avoid knowing the plot, not cause i hope to see it one day, but because the less I know the less it grinds on me. Anyway I accidentally read a post today without a spoiler warning so I have failed in that regard. Wow I wish I could un do that. Bro-feld? Bro-feld?! I am so glad i was not trapped in a cinema when i found out that . Whats next, bringing back Dr No as his childhood family GP that bond pushed over the edge by missing too many appointments?

Shaken not Stirred is right on they money, lets have an acotor that loves his role as Capaldi does.

Dark does not work for all films. HCs superman was lacking all the bright vibrant good spirit that superman is , it was one laborius smashem up . It lacked the love. Which is what the DC Bond saga is lacking. An actor who loves the role and the character, and a production and wrirtingteam that love the whole history of bond 1 to 21 and want to finally make 22.

In the novel, Bond is searching for Blofeld when he stops at the hotel. So SPECTRE doesn't show up, but if it hadn't been for SPECTRE, Bond wouldn't save the woman. At least that's the best I can come up with.
Thanks for the info Napoleon,

I've been chewing on these two statements for awhile now:
Daltonite Toothpaste wrote:Let's not start throwing the "true Bond fans" label around. I've seen that done enough times by hardcore Craig fans. Everyone is free to like or dislike what they want, and still be a Bond fan.
bjmdds wrote: I don't understand the allure for you for this film. It makes no sense that any TRUE Bond fan would ever allow this travesty of a plot, after 53 years of history, to be accepted as tolerable :!:

While I agree with Daltonite, who am I or any of us here to say who a "true Bond fan" is, but I do have to say I see BJ's point. Not to say people can't like a film, but to call yourself a Bond fan and accept this plot as cannon it's definitely a step way, way too far. I mean I get it, this film as a much different "vibe" or "feeling" to it, if the previous 3 movies had it, we would probably be a lot easier on the Craig era, but this "lightness of touch" can't possibly excuse this travesty to classic Bond. Maybe it's just me and I'm putting way too much thought in to this, however to me the question isn't if Fleming is spinning in his grave but at what RPM! EON is actively urinating on Fleming's, and maybe even Cubby's tombstones and that is something I nor anyone who loves Bond as much as we do should accept!

Correctamundo DB :!: That's my exact point. If people claim this is a Bond film, based on what? The plot is a disgrace to Fleming and Broccoli is the culprit behind it's desecration :!: Would Cubby pick Cr-egg to replace Brosnan? Would Cubby dress Bond in drag and humiliate him? A liberal woman should not be in charge of this franchise because what I see is the constant feminization of an iconic spy by a spoiled and arrogant brat who is as dumb as nails at what she does :!:

The so sad it's funny thing about this is, she's constantly spouting on about how they "go back to Fleming" for ideas, and this is what she means by that, the desecration of his beloved creation!

The official numbers are in and ECT-TRE only did $70,403,148 in the USA :!: :happy spin:  This is NOT good news for Broccoli and her dolt nor MGM nor Sony but it is just what we wanted :!: Behind the scenes they probably hoped for $100 million. This junk will do around $28 million here next weekend and then it's Mockingjay time :!: We all knew here this was a loser of a script and that it would be a front loaded mess that tailed off quickly with poor word of mouth.

Here's an interesting article from Deadline, concerning how much money SP will need to make Worldwide to make a profit for the film makers.

EA, you are up mighty early in the UK.......Spectre opened 20 percent below the $88.36 million start of 2012's Skyfall and just 4 percent ahead of the $67.53 million opening of 2008's Quantum of Solace. However, it should be noted that the opening weekend take of Quantum of Solace stands at $78.91 million when adjusting for ticket price inflation. When it tanks, we will all be HAVING A PARTY :!:

'Cut the domestic gross in half for the exhibitor split, the studio retains 40% of the overseas B.O., another 25% from China receipts that will kick in next weekend, and estimate the value of the ancillaries. Then place that up against the considerable budget and P&A spend.'

Hey i thought the idea here is to play the ball, not the man. But I am not sure what the problem is. I originally joined a site called Daniel Craig in Not Bond .com, beacuse i quite agree with the site name and dont like him as Bond. Logically, if a film comes on, whether is a Bond film or otherwise, on but you dont like whos in it , you tend not to watch it. I think its fair to say you watch things you like and avoid watching what you dont.

In this case when DC came along, i went to see CR, i didnt love the grittyness, but I could have got past it if i had not dislked the DC Bond so much.

Them came QS, I went again as its Bond and I always see Bond at the cinema. The film was poor, but it was DC as Bond that I disliked the most. I decided afterwards that there is little point continuing watch DC Bond I had tried it twice and not enjoyed it.

Then came SF, and my wife bought us suprise tickets to see it opening weekend as she knew I like Bond. So I said thanks and went, she didnt know i had not planned to go. Anyway , I did not like the film or the Bond.

So after three goes of DC Bond, that is it, i feel i have given it a good go, but i am done.
