Dailymail: A source told the paper: 'If Daniel Craig leaves, it's Damian Lewis who will be crowned the new Bond. He is seen as an all-round international star who is perfect for the role. As he ages, he looks increasingly suave and sophisticated. Bond bosses are now convinced Damian is their man.'-----------this turnip is NOT Bond material

The thing is,I know FBF is probably right. Bond is ling gone but I cannot help but hope that someday I may as well see another movie that has James Bond in its title and actually IS a Bond movie.
Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
I think eventually, someone will reinvent Bond in a way that restores the elements that we miss from the old films in a way that doesn't simply feel like going backwards. But it won't happen while EmoBond films continue to rake in the billions.Veronica wrote:The thing is,I know FBF is probably right. Not this film. It should be front loaded, and Star Wars has more clout than The Hobbit did, and the anticipation for it will overshadow ECH-TRE by the end of November. Over 62 million views on youtube

Forget James Bond. If you want escapism, the Star Wars sequels are at our doorstep. Thanks to Disney, the saga will likely to continue after Episode 9, but I could be wrong though.Veronica wrote:The thing is,I know FBF is probably right. Not in the slightest.bjmdds wrote:Slashfilm.com: Is anyone else starting to feel sorry for Daniel Craig? Spectre isn’t even in theaters yet, and all the Internet wants to talk about is who should replace him as the next James Bond. Anyway, the latest subject of 007 rumors is Damian Lewis, best known to American audiences as Nicholas Brody from Homeland. According to The Mirror, Lewis has been given the “unofficial nod” as the top choice to replace Craig if he steps down. We’d suggest you take it with a grain of salt, considering the source. (Though “U.K. tabloid” is still one step above “U.K. bookies.”) It’s also worth pointing out that Lewis, at 44, is only three years younger than Craig, and Sony is likely to want someone who can stick around a while.----Denis Villeneuve is about to dig into Blade Runner 2, the follow-up to Ridley Scott’s sci-fi classic. However, there’s another beloved property he’d love to get his hands on, as he told Coming Soon: I was raised with James Bond. I love James Bond movies. I would love to do a James Bond movie one day. Action is very cinematic. I’m not someone that loves dialogue – I am someone that loves movement. Action, if it’s well done, can be very poetic and meaningful.”

Craig says he "will keep playing Bond"
http://www.theguardian.com/film/2015/se ... le-spectre
He made a point of mentioning the amount of fitness training he does to stay in shape for the role. “I work myself to death,” the actor said: “It’s getting harder. But such is life. I’ll keep going as long as I’m physically able.”
“I’m contracted for one more – but I’m not going to make predictions.”
Spectre is Craig’s fourth Bond film in nine years as 007, after being cast in 2006’s Casino Royale, and he is under contract to make at least one more. The actor revealed he seriously considered giving up playing the role after completing Skyfall. After that film’s record-breaking success, though, his participation in further Bonds appeared inevitable.

Somehow I hope this is not a final decision. Or that its false.
If he stayed for one more that would be three more than Dalton did and one more than Brosnan.
And that would just be the greatest disgrace ever.

Roger Moore is forever criticised for making Bond films in his fifties and Brosnan was apparently fired because he was too old to carry on at 49 and yet it seems that Daniel Craig is perfectly entitled to play Bond forever despite already looking like that puppet from the old HBO Tales from the Crypt show. Talk about double standards. If he starts another cycle of Bond films after Spectre he'll likely be pushing 60 before we get rid of him. It's like some bad dream that never ends. So depressing as I genuinely thought this might be his last film. And yes, it is ridiculous that he's going to make more films than Brosnan.

I'll never believe he is gone until the new guy is announced . Craig doesn't actually work as a actor in his down time any more . And they set up for a sequel unless we are supposed to believe Craig's misery bond live happily ever afterCapt. Sir Dominic Flandry wrote:Great news for everyone -

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
I wouldn't take this article seriously. Craig and Eon are in hype mode right now, so we're bound to hear them say positive things. It's probably also a strategic thing from Craig's own PR people. How convenient this came out today, just a day after the Damien Lewis rumor surfaced again. But it's really vague when you read his statement. The reality is he has no idea what will happen, so he puts in that line, "but I’m not going to make predictions." What's there to predict if you've got a contract sealed tight? In that case, he's bound to it or he's looking at a major lawsuit. Unless of course, what he really has is an option to do another one, which ultimately puts his situation up in the air. One thing I do know, having worked in the PR side of the film industry: it's an industry so volatile that anything can happen.Veronica wrote: Somehow I hope this is not a final decision. Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Not only has Moore been repeatedly criticized for staying into his late fifties, there are fans who say that Moore was too old when he started playing Bond at the age of 46. So going by that logic, Craig, who's now 47, is also too old to be Bond. Craig's on his forth Bond film and is the same age as Moore was in his second Bond film, and Craig doesn't look anywhere near as young as Moore did. The Craig fans don't have make fun of Moore's stunt doubles in his latter Bond films either, since Craig is getting plenty of assistance from his masked stunt doubles and lame CGI effects that replace the stuntman's face with his.James wrote:Roger Moore is forever criticised for making Bond films in his fifties and Brosnan was apparently fired because he was too old to carry on at 49 and yet it seems that Daniel Craig is perfectly entitled to play Bond forever despite already looking like that puppet from the old HBO Tales from the Crypt show.
