FBF, during the Presidential debate tonight No Escape ran 2 commercials, but Brosnan was not featured, Owen Wilson was, but the film at least has some kind of budget for promotion vs. the other films..........No Escape (on Wed.) Action :Weinstein Company: WIDE release..........this is the big test for Brosnan's film.............so far 3 out of 5 stars on Fandango.com

But if Babs stays on as producer, then what's the point of watching Bond films anymore even if it means the return of the traditional Bond actor?Kristatos wrote:Digital Spy poll on whether Henry Cavill should be the next Bond: http://beta.digitalspy.co.uk/movies/jam ... their-say/

You may as well give up then. She's in her early fifties so could be producing these films for another 30 years.FormerBondFan wrote:But if Babs stays on as producer, then what's the point of watching Bond films anymore even if it means the return of the traditional Bond actor?Kristatos wrote:Digital Spy poll on whether Henry Cavill should be the next Bond: http://beta.digitalspy.co.uk/movies/jam ... their-say/

The thing is,I don't think she will ever go willingly back to the style of old Bond films. Now,when she got critical aclaim for "new physchological depth" of Bond...
The only thing that could change something is if critics stop praising these movies. And that the cries of people who don't like this direction become louder. she is saying how old Bond movies are basically beneath them now along with Mendes saying how he "wouldn't do the movie if it wasn't for Craig..." because as we all know,Craig is the best thing since Albert Einstein to ever walk this planet.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Yeah, or if one of them flops at the box office (unlikely - even QOS made decent money). I'm not sure that even a change of producer would do any good. Would Babbzy's replacement want to be seen as the person who undid all her good work adding psychological depth to Bond? Because that's how a new producer who came in announcing his or her intention to return to a more traditional style of Bond film would be portrayed.Veronica wrote:The thing is,I don't think she will ever go willingly back to the style of old Bond films. And she's the same producer who produce DC's Bonds and unfairly dismissed Pierce, leaving him without a classic Bond (except GE) when he should have a better send off. Plus, Pierce is Cubby's Bond, which is part of the original timeline. Am I going to trust her if she remains producer when the traditional Bond returns? NO WAY because she committed a serious crime 11 years ago. One thing to remember: NEVER TRUST BABS, and her and traditional Bond actor DO NOT mix!!!!!!!!!!! And in the reboot timeline, only rotten dogs can play Bond, NOT the traditional Bond actor. If she thinks she can get with the success of DC's Bond (especially Skyfall), then she might as well hire anybody or anything as Bond. And I'm sure BJ can agree on this.Kristatos wrote:She produced the Brosnan films, and you watch those.FormerBondFan wrote: But if Babs stays on as producer, then what's the point of watching Bond films anymore even if it means the return of the traditional Bond actor?

I already have a long time ago, and you guys should do the same and abandon ship. It's time to realize that James Bond is not for us anymore, and that he could be anyone or anything.carl stromberg wrote:You may as well give up then. Does that include the traditional Bond actor because I hope she doesn't? She gave Pierce, a traditional Bond actor, a horrible treatment so she might as well cast Damian Lewis or someone like him in terms non-traditional looks.Veronica wrote:The thing is,I don't think she will ever go willingly back to the style of old Bond films.

As long as these movies have James Bond in their title its highly unlikely any of them will flop at the box office. It doesn't matter whether James Bond is only in the title.Kristatos wrote:Yeah, or if one of them flops at the box office (unlikely - even QOS made decent money). I don't know if a new producer who would like to do a traditional Bond would be seen as a person who would undo "good" work that Barbara did. I think its clear from the success of Kingsman and the fact that people comment on UNCLE with comments like "Cavill for the next Bond" that the traditional Bond isn't forgotten.
I think critics are more of a factor here than general public. General public is a herd and they will watch anything if James Bond is in a title.
And the "physcological depth" bulls**t...seriously what was so physcologically major that we found out in those three films? That this Bond is depressed. Physcological depth my ass.
Making him depressed, charismaless, humorless doesn't make a physchological depth. Not in my opinion.

Fox’s “Fantastic Four” faces an uphill climb at the box office following savage reviews and controversy, picking up $2.7 million from 2,900 Thursday night locations.
The superhero reboot currently holds an abysmal 9% “rotten” rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and director Josh Trank didn’t help the bad buzz when he tweeted that the film would have enjoyed better notices if the studio hadn’t meddled. Those 140 characters have since been deleted, but not before they went viral.

With the green vegetable in charge, 'it just doesn't matter' what happens to the franchise. FBF and Bill Murray are on the same page: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Yes, I was talking about perceptions rather than realities. Ham-handed metaphors and back stories about the hero's daddy issues are what passes for psychological depth among the people who watch this s**t.

If No Escape fails, I guess no one really care for Pierce as they used to. Might as well cheer on Christian Bale from this point forward.

Will you see it 5 times? Will No Escape be Brosnan's career resurrection ala the Undertaker rising?
