It's called acting. Pierce is a versatile actor, and versatile actors don't go in front of camera looking like Brad Pitt.
Exactly. this is for the role...

Why else would he grew out that beard in Seraphim Fall and a mustache in The Matador?

"Bond………………………James…………………………….Bond." It's like he suddenly turns into Christopher Walken.
yes the name needed to be at least coherent.
I get what they think it means as it is there. They think he's playing it cool with some random girl who is all kiss first ask questions (like your name) later. but to me having watched dalton and brosnan its way too self conscious . As are all of the times Craig has said the line.

The series has become too self aware , trying now to draw meaning off the tiniest insignificant thing.

I completely agree, the pregnant pause is way too much, as if he made sure to count to ten between the lines. Also is it just me, or does the breathless delivery of "James Bond" coupled with the fact he has the girl pinned up against the wall seem a bit creepy?

YES WE WILL! LOLOL Thanks for the credit, BJ.
Honestly there is no one as suitable as Cavill is. It's just the way things are. Pierce Brosnan would smile from ear to ear seeing Henry: "Come to me, son".

That's maybe yet another atempt to make every thing more dramatic...you know,long...pauses...between...every...single...
word.

Thats another thing...I don't know if Babs is trying to tell us:"YOU SEE?!Craig's Bond is so cool that he doesn't even have to introduce himself before he ends up in flagrante with a gorgeous woman."
Either that or they couldn't pick more akward and weird moment for him to say it...

It's ironic how the earlier Bonds are chided for how easily women fall in to bed with him, and yet in Craig's outings it's so much more ridiculously so, "Can't find the stationary" anyone?

I can't believe that people defend that stationary comment by saying that it's so bad it's good. No, it's so bad, it's ******* awful. Just not funny, at all.

Image The new Blofeld----The white spots are used by digital artists to capture facial movement and expressions to animate digital character models. Reports hint Christoph Waltz’s Franz Oberhauser might be a bit freaky-looking.

I don't think even Connery would bed a woman with that line let alone Craig.

Now I remembered how Caterina Murino(Solange from CR) said that now with Craig Bond is for women too because before Bond was chauvinistic and only for men.
I mean REALLY?! REALLY? As much as she is gorgeous she is missing something in her head...

She has a point. Bond films used to be the ultimate guy flicks, now they appeal to the Nicholas Sparks audience.

As far as I know the Nicholas Sparks audience is more into Twilight. and plus that particular audience loves Pattison and all those guys because they are "good-looking"(for them). As we all know Craig and good looking can't go into the same sentence.

As much as I thought it was impossible Barbara Broccoli yet again suprised with the quantity of s**t in her interviews. "With Casino Royale we went back to classic Bond. We went back to everything that made Bond popular." Ahem,I don't remember Sean Connery being short, blond, thuggish, charismaless and I also don't remember him "not giving a d**n" about his martini.
Also I don't remember that Dr.No,FRWL or Goldfinger lacked the Bond feeling like Casino Royale.
I can't believe that someone could actually buy that stuff she said...

If that's the case, the James Bond we knew is dead.
