He didnt win me over in confrences before hand but perhaps he didnt realise the frenzied interest and thought it was just another part. But the telling thing is when his name was mentioned to the casting director she seemed extreamly skeptical which speaks volumes.

It's all old news now. Craig has won over most of his original critics. It's fair to say, with CR Craig came out on top and won, and the hate campaign lost.....
The 'hate' campaign contributed to the success of CR with DC. Now he is on his own merit, no hooplah, no fanfare, so let us see how Craig does round two Sweeney. Do you believe Bond 22 will outdo TBU in the USA?
I think 22 will outdo TBU worldwide, but I doubt in the USA.
I agree 'Sweeney'
I dont think Bond will ever reach the boxoffice stellar heights of TB during
its theatical run in 1965-66.
Bond is not new now, but its amazing that it still pulls decent boxoffice in
markets which are used to more recent action film franchises.
As i have an interest in the financial side of films, i would guess that Bond 22 would not do a significant increase in business in the North American market over CR. Generally there, Bond has had an audience of around 25 million admissions.
Canadian Bond fans have gone out of their way to point out to me
that they contribute more to Bond films $/person than thier US cousins.
One big advantage that Bond 22 has over the previous Bond films recently
released in the Autumn (or should i say the Fall), is that it is being released a little earlier in November, before the other studios release their
big films before Thanksgiving.........therefore giving Bond 22 a full week to itself to earn big bucks before the public is distracted by other films such as the next Harry Potter instalment.
I think a figure of around 175-200 mil would be a good guesstimate for
Bond 22 in the North American market.
In Europe, however, in particular the powerful rich nations in the West,
i can see nothing but a decent improvement in BO.
In the UK i can easily see another $100+ BO.
Bond has had quite a reassurgence in the UK ever since PB took over the
mantle of Bond in GE in 1995..............and despite the quality of the scripts deteriating during PB's tenure as Bond, each subsequent film did
better business than its predecesor.
All this is pure supposition though, as it really depends on the quality of
the next Bond film, and DC's new audience which he added to the traditional Bond fans.
Hopefully the next film is a cracker, and even though our friends here have not taken to Craig as BOND...........i hope they find something to enjoy in the next film.
BTW, 'BJ' as an American what can you forsee for Bond 22 in your homeland, if the film Bond 22 is any good.
