One aspect of the new series that bothered me was the boyfriend Doctor for his young companions. For the TV Movie some of the die hard fans complained about Paul McGann's Doctor kissing a woman! The same group cheered the series revival which eludes to a whole lot more than kissing.

I know some do not like the TV movie for other reasons, however I think Paul McGann was brilliantly cast. Althou I wonder how he got so far in Bond casting and with landing the role of Richard Sharpe. I fail to imagine him in either role.

Yeah I hated that, I liked Tennant (again when rose was gone and when donna showed up, I hated him pining over rose (doc who isn't mork and mindy), I also felt sorry for Mcgann in that respect I bet he didn't want that either ( I think he was a vast improvement in his 15 min special last year before he became the war doctor ( I hope the bbc give us more from his era as there's a lot to work with there), I didn't know he was considered for bond once, that would've been cool.

Yeah Capaldi has now surpassed Sylvestor Mccoys doc (one I grew up with (first doc to Me), he's made doctor who fun, watchable again, I hated clara and her mad crush on the doc and even though I think the actress Jenna Coleman is hot and cute (oh yes I do :), ahem), I hated that the first episode was pretty much pandering to the fangirls who only watched who because of the eye candy docs who they fancied (I cringed when river song showed up as well ( I really hope she never returns ).

Back on topic Capaldi was the breath of fresh air doctor who sorely needed, some have complained it's too dark and scary but that was how doctor who always used to be, before the doc who orchestra crap where kids would go wooh at daleks (you know the biggest enemy of the doctor and killers of everything who made you hide behind the couch), and I like that the doc is no longer that superhero, he's a madman with a box, eccentric, who tries to save who he can, this season also had no timey wimey can be rewritten crap or a big red button, no things happened and they stayed that way ( I just hope this is the end for clara and danny I have about as much personality as a sponge pink ).

Looking forward to Nick Frost as father christmas as well for this years christmas special (just a shame Simon Pegg can't be in there as well), I also hope next year they either pic psy or frank skinner as this docs companion (Skinner played a foil to Capaldis doctor very well) and we also need to know who the hell gus is.

It's also nice to watch doctor who again and not feel embarrised and ashamed for watching it, Smiths eras was very much fairy tale stuff, so I'm glad it's more like it was before the 2005 return, it just needs better writers.

Now if only we had an actor with as much calibur as Capaldis doc in james bond.
Bond....James bond....Rest in peace (1964-2002)

This should make James Bond a little more intense again.

It's hard to have much of a cold war when one side is pathetically weak. Russia is a shadow of what the USSR was.

Hello everyone!

Its been a long time since ive been here.........but as the new Bond film is due to start production soon, i'd thought i'd come back here to catch up with the latest news from members here.

Just had a quick read of some posts............and to comment, yes i read today in a UK tabloid that Henry Cavill would like to be Bond in the future!

Also, i too thought Peter Capaldi as the new Doctor was very good, though one or two of the stories were a bit naff, such as the moon being a giant egg..........for crying out loud!

Regarding Bond.......not sure what to expect with the new film...........though i havnt yet forgotten the truly awful shocker that was QOS.

It's about time you reappeared here EA :!: How have you been? Have you seen November Man yet?...........According to Wikipedia the "production" budget was $15,000,000 and so far NM has grossed over $32 million worldwide, not including this weekend in the UK.

How is Jimmy Fallon on late night tv? He is so bad and his fake laughs and lack of interview skills are pathetic. Is this what NBC wants in the 18-49 demo?

No, it's not that. Pierce is kept on getting work that ends up with not so great reviews. Yeah, he had great ones like The Ghost Writer and The Matador, but they are seriously under radar. I think GE is getting WAAAAAYYYYY too much glory, not as a Bond movie but as in everything Pierce has ever done in his entire career.

It was in 12 theatres according to bo mojo. It not seriously being marketed strangely it seems like they held a press screening. That seems strange for a movie they are not bothering to promote.

There's a strange force out there that is trying to bring Pierce down ever since after GE.

I don't think there is. There is the crap around cr, but it's a tough business. Bond as a brand sold a lot of tickets, it's tough to make it happen for small projects. Craig can't make anything outside bond make a dollar. Dalton, lazenby, Moore talented guys but never had a movie on there own be as big as bond.

I don't think eon is trying to hurt Brosnan any more. So many movies had a bad year its unfortunate NM was this year instead of last, or 6 years ago.

Tim is building up his post-Bond career pretty slowly starting with Hot Fuzz.

Pierce hasn't had anything that was able to outmatch GE in every department.

Yeah, it's only on one screen here in Bristol. And, sod's law, that screen is in a multiplex that's really difficult to get to if, like me, you don't have a car.
