Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
As was predicted, Affleck as Batman has brought an internet storm of comedy about this casting and there are photos like this all over the internet photoshopping the released picture into various locales:
FBF, this picture is OVER before it was ever started. Cavill's name is nowhere to be found. Just wait until Jesse Eisenberg gets involved in the scheme of things. What a joke
I hope they cast Paris Hilton as Bruce Wayne's love interest to end this tragic farce quickly. I have watched The Avengers 10 times already on cable tv and it is a marvelous film with perfect casting throughout. The IN-justice League film will be rotten to the core. I feel it's not correctable either and will be delayed constantly once they see what Affleck does to the franchise. I would not sit through this future film for free.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
After a $93 million opening weekend for Godzilla, Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros have announced that a sequel is in the works. I have waited a long time for a quality monster film and FINALLY it has arrived and will become a franchise entity
With Pierce on the verge of hopefully a successful spy role in November Man, and The Avengers sequel on the way, and now a superb monster film franchise that is better than Jurassic Park, who needs Bond with Cr-egg and Broccoli or Superman with crummy Affleck overshadowing him? There is enough out there now to fill the void that Eon created in the film industry. I have ZERO interest in Cr-egg's Bond flick WHO THE HELL CARES and I look forward to the other new franchises with great anticipation, especially with the return of Mothra

The Batman v Superman flick is now subtitled "Dawn of Justice". See what they did there?

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
I will see Godzilla Saturday in 3-D. The above reviewer does not think much of the new X-Men movie. If Godzilla repeats this weekend, the X-Men franchise will take a hit, but I would think X-Men should be number one.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Do you think the sex abuse allegations about Bryan Singer will affect the X-Men's box office take? I know that legally speaking he's innocent until proven guilty, but some people may not want to wait for a conviction.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
I never thought of that Kris. Good point
I wonder how many X-Men fanatics even know about that. It could cut into the box office somewhat.

And also in case anyone's interested, here's the Bond film we've been waiting for since 2002:

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Mendes was actually bringing Q back, in line with Craig's wish to be a little less serious as Bond this time around.
"But when you do bring him back and you start thinking about gadgets," says Mendes — who gleefully confesses to having had a model of Bond's Aston Martin, complete with a working ejector seat, when he was a boy — "almost every gadget you can imagine is available in the Apple Store. So, really, what could you ask for that you can't get now? "Basically, all you come down to is weapons. They're the only things that are illegal: guns and bombs." (Mendes is clueless. The secret to Bond films are new gadgets that the screen writer comes up with. Exploding pens...........ARE a welcomed accessory.)

I guess every SF writer needs to give up now, since there is nothing left to be invented.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
good point. I'm going because I'm a XMen fan but I wonder if there are people who will not go because of him. Still it's not as widely known as I thought . Probably blow up after opening weekend is my guess.Kristatos wrote:Do you think the sex abuse allegations about Bryan Singer will affect the X-Men's box office take? Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Singer's lawyer has filed a motion to dismiss the charges. I think whether or not he succeeds will make a big difference. If the motion is rejected, it presumably means that the judge feels there is some substance to the allegations (which is not the same thing as finding him guilty, of course).

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Just leaving the XMen movie, good news it does not suck. Very, very good. I enjoyed it more than captain 2. It also resets the XMen universe saving it from having to go forward with some bad ideas from crappy movies.
If only we can get Brosnan to wake up in the beginning of the next bond movie realizing everything since 2002 was a hallucination brought on by drugs used in his torture.
BTW nobody I went with was familiar with the Singer story.
