Actress Kate Beckinsale reveals she was approached for a Bond Girl role but turned it down

Actress Kate Beckinsale, who made an appearance at the 2007 San Diego Comic Con event this week, has revealed she was approached to play a Bond Girl in a previous 007 outing.

When asked if she was ever under consideration for a part in a James Bond film, Beckinsale said, "I was... I don't remember which one it was, but I think I embarrassed my daughter enough. You're always required to be in your underwear in a James Bond movie, and once your kids reach third grade, you don't want to shame them. It was the same thing with Wonder Woman, the costume is basically underwear."

Other actresses who have been considered for recent Bond Girl roles include Angelina Jolie - who turned down the role of Vesper Lynd in Casino Royale due to her pregnancy, Charlize Theron - a favourite of previous Bond actor Pierce Brosnan who allegedly turned down a role, and Cécile De France - the Belgian actress was reportedly under cosideration for Casino Royale but lost out due to her weak English skills.

yeah, Kate Beckinsale is one of the worst actresses out there. Underworld? Van Helsing? two of the worst movies I've ever seen.

Agree about Underworld (what a waste of the great Bill Nighy), but Van Helsing was so gleefully ridiculous that I found myself warming to it.
