Right. It had come out there wasn't going to be a novelization this time (as there had been for Licence to Kill, GoldenEye and the other Brosnan films). That prompted somebody to start a chapter.Kristatos wrote:It might be a little early for a Bond 24 novelisation just yet. When we did the Skyfall one, the title had been announced and some of the plot details had already emerged, allowing us to fill in the blanks. All we really know about Bond 24 at the time of writing this is that the same key creative personnel are returning. DC has said that he wants a lighter tone, but he's been saying that since QOS, and it doesn't seem like anybody's listening. I think any spoof we wrote now would just be a generic spoof of Craig's "Bond", rather than specifically of Bond 24, as we don't really have anything to base the spoof on.
Double Bourbon. The producers could claim it as a Fleming title ("James Bond, with two double bourbons already inside him," etc.) *AND* it would provide a product placement opportunity. Bourbon is a popular liquor these days, sort of like inserting poker for baccarat in Casino Royale.Blowfeld wrote:After the naming of the last one I've given up. They could call it Firestone, ultimate placement, and the people would cheer.

So, what's the plot going to be? Craig finding some hard time building his Lodge? The film will end with him building up his ancestral home, so he completed his job again (still we're stuck in the reboot line) and the movie concludes with a quick gunbarrell sequence.Napoleon Solo wrote:Skyfall Part II

Hell Is Here would make a good title, but I suspect they'll want to avoid The Undertaker's Wind!Kiwichris wrote:After they run out of Fleming titles, which they've pretty much done, I wonder if they'll start to use draft and alternate titles to Fleming's books like "Too Hot to Handle" (Casino Royale) or "The Belles from Hell" (OHMSS)?
Like LALD chapter 5.carl stromberg wrote:They could use some Fleming chapter titles.
I intended to say this for some time, that unofficial novelization was so much fun. One of the best times I've had here.Napoleon Solo wrote:Right. I was among those who jumped in. During Skyfall's filming, the official 007 Twitter feed was releasing those weekly "clapperboard" photos. On some of the fan groups, people put the shots in their order in the film (based on the scene number). Also, there were bits and pieces coming out during filming.
Based on that, I had a notion that perhaps it would be revealed that M would be responsible for the deaths of the parents of Bond and Silva. I mentioned the notion as a joke in an email exchange with some Bond fans and got criticized for "SPOILERS!" I had to explain it was a joke. (While I played it for laughs, I still think it was a good idea and better than what was in Skyfall.)
So when the unofficial novelization began here, I had some notions where to take it. Blowfeld, however, usually topped me, I still like his chapter about Bond's breakfast as his flight is nearing Shanghai. In fact, I'm laughing just thinking about it.
For the ending, I drew inspiration based on another fan's detective work. Besides the "clapperboard" photos, there were those videos the official 007 site put out periodically. One of them concerned the production designer. Anyway, somebody did a screen capture, where you could see a series of drawings on the wall. Based on that, the fan asked if the movie would end in M's office that would an awfully lot like the original office. I scoffed but then the teaser trailer came out where DC came into that office which, indeed, looked like the original M office. Plus, Mendes -- one another one of those videos -- teased how elements could have occurred in 1962. The second I heard that, I figured the Bond fan was correct about M's office.
Anyway, we're probably six to nine months from having enough material to attempt another novelization.
