Yes he has. They were spreading stories that he was asking for an unreasonable amount of money that he himself denied.

Brosnan has never been smeared by EON. It's just the natural way that the current actor is praised at the expense of the previous Bond. The same will happen to Craig, when the next actor takes over.
Having lived through several changing of guard so to speak I tend to agree with you. However what was new was the media reaction followed by the fan meltdown when Daniel washed ashore seasick.

I believe EON / Barbara saw a true threat to her franchise so reacted to it, ignoring the forum fan based front line which I know there were those associated with EON posting and for the most part higher ups at those places were personally friendly with. After going on to explain it I do not hold those events in the greater picture of much consequence.

To me what constitutes smearing by EON is them sending out people normally behind the scenes like stunt men and prop people to say how manly or tough Daniel is and what a weakling Pierce was. The singer of the bloody caterwaul came out to say how much he personally didn't like the previous Bonds and how much better Daniel would be. The cherry on top was the DAD was so bad we had to reboot meme started directly by the two at the top.

Cubby never allowed such a circus to occurs no matter what the cost the previous actor even those who never appeared on screen were always well treated, allowing both parties to maintain their dignity.

Poor Timothy was roasted relentlessly however his honour was always defended by the top brass who praised his contribution and bemoaned his early departure. (Probably should note they also helped him successfully take legal action against a certain tabloid spreading stories of his impending departure in 1990 )

Stephanie Zimbalist Pierce's Remington Steele co-star. She was cast as Murphy's partner when the excitement over Pierce's 007 casting saved the canceled show costing both the stars prominent movie roles.
And she lost out to Nancy Allen. Well, I must say I still love Nancy in the role of Anne Lewis. She was the perfect role model for female action heroes.
I can not picture Stephanie as Anne Lewis. As I remember the story Nancy got the job after Stephanie was forced to back out. However I could be mistaken.

I couldn't either. Well, pulling her back did justice to the role, not that I have anything against the beautiful Stephanie, but Nancy was born to play Anne Lewis.

I don't think EON realize what they did when they released Pierce.

I do believe Brosnan was smeared but everyone but Connery is trashed by the fans as soon as they leave. Lazenby and Dalton were lucky to get a second chance at their history being remembered as a bright spot, I think when Craig is done a ton of people from all over will suddenly find his movies and the man himself lacking in bondness maybe then Brosnans will be looks at in a better way.

It took Dalton a lot of years to be redeemed in the fandom.

Just imagine if the next Bond who is less Bondian than DC and will be considered as the best since Sean yet DC himself gets mocked.

DC is mocked now FBF, as an unattractive, no charisma, brutish dolt. Broccoli's obsessive tendencies try to bolster him but nobody in Hollywood is now buying it. It's Broadway with the Mrs. for him or Bond. This lawyer role looks pretty lame and might turn out to be another shelved version of his Invasion bomb. I repeat, what irony that in 2014 Brosnan has more film role attention than Boar-bara's protege :!: For some reason Turner Classic Movie channel is playing Finney's Scrooge now......"thank you very much"......it must be the 58 inches now of snow on the east coast I guess. Ben-Hur will be on later. Could you imagine the blasphemy if the Hollywoodies tried to do a remake of Ben-Hur from 1959?

But what if the next Bond who LOOKS LESS Bond than DC but ends up being the BEST since Sean? This is what we want, not for us but for those minions.

It will be very interesting to see who replaces Cr-egg. Will they go more normalized retro OR go WWE style to get an actor to play Bond? This could be the next Bond girl: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pl ... MYB0KZL-q4

Naah, we all know Babs loves the submissive idiots, so I'll take it the next one who replaces Cr-egg will be a total utter sissy, since the production is going into political correct (for the bloody lefties!) direction. Expect worse things to come.

A blasphemy like that we're getting to be having one soon enough, BJ. And what about the Casablance sequel set in the 1960s with a man appears to be Bogey's son tries to find out about him? Heard the news last year. It was... humiliating.

If the next Bond is a success, he will then be praised at the expense of Craig. But this smear campaign against Brosnan is a myth.

As for a member praising Craig in the action scenes, I don't like Craig but his is a more athletic Bond than Brosnan.

Yes, athletic doing the moves of a Ballerina. LOL!! No offense at all, mate. But his portrayal of close quarters combat is purely laughable and could get someone killed if tried in real life. They call it mixed martial arts but in fact mixed martial arts doesn't act quite like that. The real mixed martial arts was the one taken place between Connery and Rober Shaw, or Brosnan and Sean Bean.

You do k now that the 1959 Ben-Hur was a remake of a silent film, right? And with added gay subtext to boot.

No offense taken, I dislike Craig:Bond about as much as anyone here. But at the same time, I don't like the watered down Bond we had from 1995-2002. Brosnan was ok in the fights (if you can overlook his forced facial expressions) , but Craig is a more athletic Bond (but that's not enough). Though I agree with you on the Connery:Bond/Grant fight.

Well, I agree with you about Brosnan's era losing the ball since TWINE, but you can blame the choreographer for it. Yes, I do agree his face expressions was forced, but then again it all depends on the one helming the film. Micheal Apted was more of a realism-based director rather than handling something like Bond, and I don't think he was the best man for it, but he wasn't the worst either comparing to Sam Mendes and Marc Forster. Well, personally, I blame Barbara Broccoli for all that Bond has become nowadays... The politically correct oaf... If they wanted to go dark with Bond, the best they could've done was going back to the Dalton era. Heck, The Living Daylights is the perfect dark Bond film!
