I got Roger Moore. Heck, I love being the suave spy and save the world in style.

I got Tim. So suck on THAT, Craggy! Dalton may not have been "popular" with either the audiences or the Movie Studio (enough for them to have Tim removed when the ailing Cubby couldn't vouch for his return after such a long layoff - at least that's my belief, so I'm sticking to it), but his James Bond was more REAL to me as the first one I saw in the Theater. And Dalton did it first, which by virtue makes him BETTER than Craggy's come-lately pouty posing. Every time.

I did it 3 times and got Connery, Dalton and Moore. Got to be happy with that.

You might not be remembered well, or even in the same league as other who came before you, but you got the job done and changed the game for the generations that came after you.

I did see someone mention how they purposely tried to get Roger by picking the more odd choices, but got Pierce as a result. So I guess FormerBondFan just needs to be a little more wild with his options.bjmdds wrote:Poor FBF got stuck with Cr-eggIt's a mystery to all who know him.
As for myself, I got good old Roger with the first try, so I'm perfectly fine with that.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
RoboCop only earned $2.8 million on Wednesday. Based on this figure, its unlikely RoboCop earns more than $25 million by the end of the long weekend. No release date for November Man so far. Isn't that puzzling? It's already February. If it will be released this November one would think they would know that by now.

Another '80s remake flops. How much longer before Hollywood realizes that the '80s nostalgia boom only exists in the coke-addled brains of their marketing spods?

You would think so Kris but look at who is running Hollywood these days and look at who is deemed Bond
Robocop stunk in it's original form being a rip off basically of the Six Million Dollar Man but more graphic and violent.

Considering that Brosnan was often hailed as the best since Connery, or just plain the best Bond (you'd think Brosnan was the messiah*), underrated he was not.FormerBondFan wrote:When are they going to realize that Pierce has been underrated ever since after GE?bjmdds wrote:No release date for November Man so far. I don't think Pierce sees himself as a messiah of Bond. He was just trying to get the best scripts possible even Bond, but he wasn't a fan of his Bonds after GE. If you disagree with me on this, that's fine.Daltonite Toothpaste wrote:Considering that Brosnan was often hailed as the best since Connery, or just plain the best Bond (you'd think Brosnan was the messiah*), underrated he was not.FormerBondFan wrote:When are they going to realize that Pierce has been underrated ever since after GE?bjmdds wrote:No release date for November Man so far. Hopefully, NM will be great enough to make the public forget his Bond and remember him more as his new spy character, but we'll see. Speaking of going beyond Bond, I still wish Tim got the part of Alfred. I have nothing against Jeremy Irons. I'm sure he would fine, but Tim looks the part of the butler with the mustache.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
What does that have to do with choosing a release date? If it's in 2014, shouldn't we know it by now? It will be released overseas in November so where is the USA opening date already? Get those dollars ready to buy tickets.FormerBondFan wrote:When are they going to realize that Pierce has been underrated ever since after GE?bjmdds wrote:No release date for November Man so far. Judging by some of his recent releases like Salvation Blvd and Love Is All You Need, they're completely under radar as they're very hard to find at a movie theater at the time of their respective releases.bjmdds wrote:What does that have to do with choosing a release date?
This November is too full of tent-pole releases for NM to be #1 in the US.If it's in 2014, shouldn't we know it by now? It will be released overseas in November so where is the USA opening date already? Get those dollars ready to buy tickets.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Going to disagree with you big time here. The original which was revolutionary also 100x better than the remake, the new one is closer to six million dollar man crossed with Battlestar Galactica mixed with whatever "gritty" crime drama. I can see why hugh laurie back out. I even felt sorry for Sam Jackson and his bad wig to go with his horrible Bill o'reilly impersonation and he was the only on to drop the f*bomb and it was bleeped.bjmdds wrote:You would think so Kris but look at who is running Hollywood these days and look at who is deemed Bond![]()

They Really the ripped the heart out of the original no where near the emotion and story, I see why they want to reboot so they make a series after all all th rest of the robo sequels had half the story including the prime directives series which was so-so at best times.
Also the the cop Alex Murphy is a bad cliche, forgetting Murphy the whole story takes too way to much time to preach politically about drones and other subjects, it is exactly what I'd expect of a made for TV movies rebooting the series.
I was thinking along the sames line, but reading the stories they expect it to do well over all, making $200 million world wide I still don't see how that helps as it cost $100 plus ads ( and the real robocop cost $13 in 1987!). Bo mojo seems more tame about the numbers saying they doubt it will break $70 million us. The story at least at two places seems to be its not a flop but a good opener when it seems like if is a flop to me. Same with monuments men which may not be a bad movie. Robocop reboot is a #1 in the world but what else is there? it number one in a one man race, good job Hollywood! way to dumb down logic!Kristatos wrote:Another '80s remake flops. the numbers!
BTW next weekend is Hobbits 2 last chance to break $1 billion, China, who last time i read about it had not paid any of the studios the millions of dollars collected. Hollywood counts the money but never get it the PR must be worth it then.

There is a Bond connection to the first Robocop.
Stephanie Zimbalist Pierce's Remington Steele co-star. She was cast as Murphy's partner when the excitement over Pierce's 007 casting saved the canceled show costing both the stars prominent movie roles.

And she lost out to Nancy Allen. Well, I must say I still love Nancy in the role of Anne Lewis. She was the perfect role model for female action heroes.Blowfeld wrote:There is a Bond connection to the first Robocop.

Brosnan has never been smeared by EON. It's just the natural way that the current actor is praised at the expense of the previous Bond. The same will happen to Craig, when the next actor takes over.Omega wrote: It is hard to remember the good headlines much the same as craig about him when he was smeared by EON for several years.
