Thanks for the welcome!

It will be good to be back on a Bond forum again. Although EON/Craig have permanentally destroyed some of my love of the franchise.

Welcome to the forum. I hope we can talk about James Bond and not anyone's personal lifestyle. This isn't the place.

On the subject of AJB, that must be the most overmoderated forum in human history. They have about twenty regular posters and about 56 mods with traffic-warden syndrome.

Hi

BJMDDS

A couple of questions.

What do your initials stand for?

Yes i do know of 'Charles Vine' over at 'MI6' and his views,
he's certainly not phased by us supporters of the current
Bond incarnation.
In fact you, Charles and a chap called 'You only live Thrice'
made the forums great fun earlier this year over at MI6.

BJ, do you still post there, and is 'Dog Bond' still after her money
from you over the BO estimates you had a bet with her concerning CR.

I know you dont like Craig, but regardless of that fact what are you
hoping to see in Bond 22?

I dont post crap...........i just post what i think is a great injustice to
the Bond franchise, and the people whose hard work it is to provide
entertainment to millions worldwide.......and i hope you understand
that?
You seem to have changed your tone which is commendable.

genuine boycott, after the acceptance of DC and CR.

The point is EA. Casino Royale was such a change of direction that myself and others (For different reasons) felt EON had ruined a franchise with a diverse Bond film that felt devoid of all the essential Bond elements one would associate with a 007 movie.

Apology accepted.
english agent wrote: Anyway, doesn't it make you wonder that if you dont think that DC is
your typical Bond................what the other contenders must of been

I think Craig's selection had more to do with personal choice (Babs).

prior to the Pierce Brosnan era.

Personally i thought he was very good, but as they say times change.
The Roger Moore era was vastly differnet to the Connery era for example
but i still enjoyed and supported the franchise.
If you read my posts you'll realise I'm a huge Moore fan closely followed by Sir Sean.

Congrats BJ on reaching 1000+ posts on one topic thread. Quite an achievement.

Thanks young Skywalker, but we all contribute to the Bond 'fortress of solitide' discussion and I would love it to continue on to November 2008 when 'all hell may break loose' on the Bond internet sites when Craig's face hits the big screen for round 2 of the discussion!

English, hello back! Vine and YOLT take a beating at MI6 and should some day take the journey here to be truly appreciated. The initials are a combination of initials plus degrees I have earned over the years. I stopped posting at the MI6 Craig lovefest 4 months ago after topic forums were locked by Luds and his buddies declaring 'this is not a democracy here at MI6'. I found my way here and have been extremely well received and feel appreciated here and plan to stay, as long as they will have me. Dogbond is an MI6 shill, a pitbull, and possibly more than a 23 year old video store owner in Trinidad by way of the UK. She was correct that CR grossed more than $100 million in the USA;however, her constant attacks led me to cordially return her barbs, until the mods set in. Enough was enough. You should visit here more often for cordial debate on BOTH sides of the Craig fence, which says a lot for a site named as it is, to allow such contrary debate, but it does, and rightly so. Bond 22, especially with Forster at the helm, will probably be another character driven plot of Bond's psyche development, and continue on this tangential Bond storyline, which IMO, is just a shell of what is should be. Look for Amy Winehouse to sing the title song though, IF she can stay out of trouble until then.

Still I'm sure you'll feel at home here. The anti-Craig brigade hava small following, but there voice is loud here.
All the same, welcome.

Thanks for the welcome!

I don't know who any of the members are on here just yet. It was only about 2 days ago that I found out that there are now forums on this site.

Within a few weeks of the release of CR I was so disgusted with EON/Craig and the Bond websites kissing Craig's feet for no other reason than he was the new Bond and without even caring that he was wrong for the part, that I stopped going on any Bond sites at all.

Just a few days ago I decided for the first time since November of 2006 to visit a Bond site, and since at least here they weren't willing to accept just any hack as Bond like several of the other sites are with Craig, I decided to visit this site again.
Welcome EYE OF THE TIGER. You will be quite at ease here. I arrived here as you did, from disenchantment with the other Bond website forums, once I saw a forum was started here. I hope others start to realize that this site has an excellent forum to discuss Bond, in a basically cordial way. Stick around, post, and share your thoughts on Bond with us. I am sure we will be more than satisfied by your recruitment here!

I agree that in general personal lifestyle shouldn't be a topic on a Bond forum. Don't worry, I don't intend to discuss those types of things on here in general. The only reason I ever said anything about it on AJB was because it was asked by another member what everybody thought about the rumors that Craig might portray Bond as being bi-sexual, and I gave my answer.

The fact that the moderators didn't lock the thread (that was started by another member) shows that they didn't have a problem with it being discussed. But then the one mod was upset at my answer and decided to take out his anger on me by personally attacking me from then on.

Anyway, I'm done with that topic, I don't plane on discussing it any further.

Yes, AJB is overmoderated. Again, I don't want to insult all of the moderators over there, there are some nice ones. But I always wondered why they had so many mods, and that they sometimes were to strict on what you were and were not allowed to say. But in other ways I felt that AJB was a better website than CBn or MI6 were/are.

We shall have a toast of a vodka martini, shaken, not stirred, after Bond number 7 replaces Craig. We shall leave the Kool Aid to the other forums.

So it doesn't matter to you who plays Bond, so long as it's not Daniel Craig?
Do you know how crazy that idea is?

Moonraker is actually pretty good, despite the silly bits. Great score and atmosphere in a lot of scenes. Good cast.
I'm quoting myself here, but I thought I'd mention some really brilliant scenes in Moonraker!

When 007 is spying on the laboratory where Drax is manufacturing his nerve gas, this scene is true Bond I think!

In the beginning when 007 first meets Drax at his castle in California, and Drax sits by the piano playing Chopin. Brilliant!

When Corinne Clery is chased by the dogs in the forest!

I even like some of the scenes in space even if all this is too unrealistic!

John Barry's score is wonderful in this film!

Moonraker is an underrated Bond movie, even the crazy humour is actually pretty funny at times

The insanity is occurring right now. I only hope Eon gets it right with Bond 7 and selects a worthy candidate who defines class and charisma in the role. "Anyone but Craig" is not the solution.

Craig did some squawking...Eon caved...

Post by bjmdds »

http://www.express.co.uk/news/view/14352/Bond It seems the fight will continue through 2010 since Eon caved in and doubled Craig's salary for the next TWO films! He will now earn a total of $26 million US dollars for Bond 22 and 23. I for one, am NOT pleased, but I know the Sweeney has a HUGE smile on his face. This charade will now encompass at least 3 films over a 4 year time frame, assuming Bond 23 gets released in the summer of 2010 as they mentioned. After this pay day, I doubt Eon will fork over the numbers Craig will demand and will then be "Brosnaned"(shown the door out classlessly).

Hi

These rumours that DC was getting a big pay rise had been around for a while.
It seems the film makers are intent on holding on to him, which i think is
a good idea.
He could be playing Bond for quite a few years.

Now all we need to see is some cracking good Bond films with further
character development...............you never know some of you guys might eventually begin to accept DC in the role.

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

ps Did i put in as many smilies as you 'Sweeney'

BJ is right when he states I love this movie. The scenes you mentioned were excellent. I'd add the shooting range scene and the simulator as well. These are stand-out moments not only the film but the franchise too.
