Just noticed that my last entry appears under Capt Sir Dominic Flandry's name. I must have hit "Edit" instead of "Quote" by mistake. Sorry for any confusion this causes, but I don't think it will affect anything, it just means that there's an entry missing. The QOS track didn't suddenly drop from 2 to 0 points, it just looks that way.

It seems almost too predictable, the Craig films going first. But the truth is, all three of them have been undistinguished, musically speaking. Newman's Oscar nomination was an insult, when so many classic scores went unrecognized.

It's nothing against Craig's films, I just don't care much for the modern Bond scores, although some of David Arnold's work is okay. What I really like about the scores for A View To A Kill and The Living Daylights, is that John Barry was able to bring a slightly modern sound while still keeping his classic style Bond music, and I think it works pretty well.

I think Arnold's best Bond score was his first, for TND, though I quite enjoyed playing "spot the Barry reference" in his DAD score, in keeping with the anniversary tribute theme of the film.

Having listen to all the contestants it's really going to come down to the Best of John Barry's Bond. Even the later Arnold and Newman scores are not in the same class. CR QOS SF DAD GE are not the best the series has to offer.
