Breakdown of International figures
---------------------------------------
After 3rd weekend in UK ....SF added another $18.2 mil (-30%) to bring total to a massive $117.5 mil (£72.9 mil)
meaning film is now 4th on all-time list and should be in 2nd position tomorrow when it overtakes HP.DH2 (£73.1 mil) and Toy Story 3 (£73.8 mil).......then there's only Avatar to chase, mind you that film ended up with (£94 mil).
Other notable total grosses:-
Germany - $44 mil after 2 w/ends
France - $42.5mil after 3 w/ends
SF has now also passed QOS's international gross, and tomorrow will surpass CR.

BJ is the closest but we'll see where the actuals are, the increase in Saturday make me think Sunday could do better as well.
I did try to get a guess from you man, you could have won a top imaginary prize! To the numbers!
Will somebody f'ing kill taken 2 already! The only way Skyfall could do more money is if Liam "But what I do have are a very particular set of skills" Neeson was Bond
1 Skyfall $87,800,000
2 Wreck-It Ralph $33,056,000
3 Flight $15,100,000 -
4 Argo $6,745,000
5 Taken 2 $4,000,000

'Omega' i thought Taken 2 was a pretty good film...yes it was a very similar retread of the first film, hence why critics gave it low ranking, but the cinmea going public have loved it. Its made well over $300 mil worldwide and only cost a mere $45 mil to make.
It makes you wonder now...how good an action star 'Neeson' could of been if he had been given action roles when he was younger!

Taken was OK, retreading it for Taken 2 makes sense, but not going off the top 10 list around the world for 6 weeks!English Agent wrote:'Omega' i thought Taken 2 was a pretty good film...yes it was a very similar retread of the first film, hence why critics gave it low ranking, but the cinmea going public have loved it. I respect the hell out of the pole who made Taken 1&2 for making them for $25 and $45 million they deserve success for being the only smart people in Hollywood. But the unearthly run?

EST figures for weekend are North America $87.8 mil ($90 mil if you include $2.2mil from Thursday)Omega wrote:Thats like exactly how much the US addedEnglish Agent wrote:Update: no sooner than i typed the previous message, i saw a report stating that SF by early estimates has now accumalated $518.6 mil worldwide.

if it is not the us number then it should hit 600 million when the totals come.
Internationally :- $89 mil
These figures will be adjusted sometime Monday when all the data is in.
Either way you look at it. SF made a shed load of money this weekend...some $179 mil approx.
Babs and Michael must be very happy!

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Neeson didn't get in to action movies until he was much older... They say he turned down Bond in the 90s because he didn't want to be "a action star".
But he made his name in todays market as a action star. I wonder what changed for him?
If he has this kind of star power to keep a weak retread alive then A-team 2 would be a sure fire hit.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
They're doing better than MIB3 which is where I though it'd go. Probably be closer to Amz Spider-man which means this could be the first Bond film many in years to really make big money even with the big cost. $210 million, if we go by Craig its a $400 million movie, rule of thumb (x3) they need $630 million to beak even, if the can get close to 800 million or more they they could make $85 million coming out of Bond which will keep MGM alive a little longer.English Agent wrote:EST figures for weekend are North America $87.8 mil ($90 mil if you include $2.2mil from Thursday)Omega wrote:Thats like exactly how much the US addedEnglish Agent wrote:Update: no sooner than i typed the previous message, i saw a report stating that SF by early estimates has now accumalated $518.6 mil worldwide.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
I think this film SF could gross somewhere around $800 mil when all is said and done, i mean it will be playing upto Xmas in the US and elsewhere.............and there are still 3 big Bond markets for the film to open in...ie Australia, Japan and China. Mind you Chinese release is not fully locked down yet date wise, but has been initially slated for Feb 15th next year.
Incidently, as members here have pointed out to EON the errors of their ways with QOS.........dont you think we should all be given a dividend from SF's profits?

What Eon has done to the Bond franchise is equivalent to what MAD TV did to the iconic Wizard Of Oz. I leave you with this to ruminate over in your collective consciences what the result of tampering with perfection does when it is not required: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=leRe3YMo ... re=related FBF, carry on the quest here

Sorry BJ. DAD and Pierece Brosnan films were not perfection. Change had to happen, and it looks like the change paid off massively.bjmdds wrote:What Eon has done to the Bond franchise is equivalent to what MAD TV did to the iconic Wizard Of Oz. What is wrong with the Americans? Canada I though you out of all the other countries would know better!
I knew Great Britain is a lost cause put Bond, Potter, or Tolkien on the marquee and there is this unexplained compulsion to go. America I though they loved their spanglely vampires there.
