Based on this, to hell with James Bond. If the world still needs Bond, send in the weirdos to take once DC retires.

IF anything I think it say people missed the old Bond touches But it seems divided if they got the right in skyfall, but with a new actor they might reset how they make the series to a normal setting. I think that is what Ale is saying.

To hell with the traditional Bond actor. It seems that DC has his three times the charm Bond movie so you might go for the freaks as Bond.

I saw Skyfall. I think it is WAY better than QoS (not that it takes much, but still). And I think it has some hints of them getting the message that they've got to STOP giving us Bourne instead of Bond movies. The plot is pretty straightforward, nothing sensational, but works ok. I think this may be a good sign, in some ways, for the future of the franchise. Provided they adjust it and get back to MORE classic Bond. Last half hour lags, and is quite weird, for lack of a better word. But I think this is definitely the best of the three movies Craig did.

Now, the bad news: Craig is AWFUL and I mean AWFUL for this. He looks about one freaking HUNDRED years old in this one. He was never right for the role, ever, but now it's way past "not right". It's insulting to have a Bond who looks like that. Bardem even with that hair looked more Bondian than he did. I wish I was kidding. The Bond girls and women roles in generals are forgettable to say the least, and this bothers me A LOT. Bond girls were always a fundamental part of the imagery of Bond, but at this rate, we're not even getting that anymore. And no, Marlohe is not enough for it, especially not with so little airtime. So that needs major fixing.

But I have to say I'm hoping that, with the fixes that need to be made, once we have Craig finally out of the way, we may have hope to return to a movie with James Bond ACTUALLY in it, if they start learning their lessons. And it looks like they are starting to.
It is his best of the three he has done I was telling Sweeney this takes a piss on CR and QOS, really no point to either of those movies. Or him. And he gets so much of who Bond is wrong.

If Saturdays holds then it will be a 80m weekend, if Friday was front loaded it will be in the 70s. I am some what surprised because the metrics wasn't there for this, Sony didn't see it either. I still wonder how it will hold, it grows in some markets and holds in others. Next week will be the biggest test.

If someone drives an expensive Porsche without a license and has accidents constantly, that would be equivalent to what DC does playing Bond. He screws it up every time because he is clueless in the role. I won't divorce myself from him in the lead and pretend the rest of any of his films are acceptable. That is not what is required. He must cease and desist as Bond. How did you like Q and MP and would you accept them to remain with Cavill or replace them? I doubt Eon would dare replace them now.

This corruption has gone too far. If he does another one, we'll have a bunch of zombies surrounded the entire building with no chance of escape.

You can forget about Henry as Bond. He should stick with Supie, 50 Shades, and epic films for all I care. And Michael Fassbender should stick with Chris Nolan films. From now on, it's all about the freaks & weirdos, considering the madness we're in right now, and it doesn't matter if DC leaves after Skyfall or after Bond 25. Are we still in agreement on this, BJ? And how's my new signature?

Glad to hear you enjoyed the majority of it Ale. I thought Craig looked old too, but I get the impression it was actually intentional for this film. Watching Craig on interviews with slightly longer hair, and he looks 10 years younger than he does in SF.

It's funny, but out of the majority of reviews I've read, even the negative ones, DC is the one positive aspect to each review. He is the only thing which is saved any criticism, whether its dissing SF for not being as good as CR, or that SF doesn't feel like a Bond movie - Craig's performance is still held in high regard. For all SF's faults, most of the critics appear to like Craig in the role.

I'm starting to read predictions on BO forums that SF could bring in $100m this weekend.

I said all along SF would be huge, and we are still on track with my predictions.

After reading 'Ale's' review of Skyfall...i genuinely agree, the film is certainly much better than QOS, and the producers have taken notes from fans, in regards to remove the Bourne elements from the series, and trying to get back to the things that make things Bond.
It is true also that DC does genuinely look a lot older in this film, and it certainly didnt help that he was given a very un-suitable haircut for this film. In fact, i'am not being funny but i think i look more like Bond than he does! :D

EA

ps: i know the end of the film is a little unusual...but i thought it was very well done!

Bond 23 did only $30.8 million last night, not the fake $37 million that was spun. That is only $3 million more than QOS did and this one had IMAX. Ticket prices here were $10.00 in 2008 for a weekend. Now they are $14.00 here. This is LESS than QOS factoring in a 40% increase in ticket prices which go up .50USD every 6 months here. http://boxofficemojo.com/daily/chart/?s ... -09&p=.htm

"Skyfall" will shatter the record for the biggest James Bond movie debut ever, after taking in $30.8 million at the box office on Friday.
That's an average of nearly $8,787 from each of the 3,505 theaters that the 23rd film in the 50-year-old 007 franchise is playing on. That could translate to an $80 million weekend." What planet do you live on Sweeney, Creggulus One? Keep dreaming about your $200 million plus here and your $100 million opening. Ain't a gonna happen :!:  My friend saw Bond 23 last night in Missouri. He LOVES DC as Bond. He found the film LACKING and will NOT spend money to see it again. Sandy Kenyon, the WABC tv movie critic said it is better than QOS but NOT as good as CR. Twilight now gets it's fangs into the competition. Bond 23(I do not acknowledge it's name) will be a quick fade within 2 weeks here. It won't come close to Ghost Protocol in the USA.
