The problem is they didn't have Dick Grayson/Robin in the reboot because he wouldn't really work in the Nolan universe so you would have to at least mention the origin of Grayson if you had him as Batman. It would make more sense just to have a new actor playing Bruce Wayne/Batman. By the way, according to Ain't It Cool, they screened The Dark Knight Rises today for a select audience and some critics and it got a standing ovation.
If they reboot again, it doesn't really matter who plays who in TDKR.

The Amazing Spider-Man easily held on its lead on Friday, though it doesn't quite seem to be reaching the heights of previous entries in the franchise. Meanwhile, Oliver Stone's Savages got off to a fine start in fifth place, while Katy Perry: Part of Me looks like it's coming down on the wrong side of the concert genre.

Spider-Man earned $20.7 million on Friday, which brings its four-day total to $95.7 million. That's way off from all previous Spider-Man movies, which had made at least $125.9 million through the same point. Opening on a Tuesday does skew those results, though, and The Amazing Spider-Man should close that gap significantly over the next two days. Sony is currently forecasting between $60 and $65 million for the three-day weekend, which translates to a $135 million to $140 million six-day start.

But in 6 days Spider does what Bond will take 2 months to do. I think Spider will fade faster than MIB 3 still a lot of money for a 300 to 400 million dollar movie.

I think $220 million was the production budget, meaning it's going to have to make $660 million to show a profit. Looks like it's going to struggle to get anywhere near that.

I hope Bond 23 will fade faster than Spidey reboot. After all, I'll take anything over Bond these days.

With six days of holiday playtime, Sony's "The Amazing Spider-Man" kickstarted its high-flying domestic run -- until "The Dark Knight Rises" bows in two weeks, that is -- with a $140 million gross through Sunday.
Globally, the Spidey reboot has collected a whopping $341.2 million since its $50 million overseas bow last weekend. Sony's decision to release this film in 3D is looking just as good. Fourty-four percent of the weekend's gross came from 3D, 10 percent came from 307 Imax screens. Imax grosses were $14.3 million for the 6 days, a whopping $47K per screen. It played 4,318 screens in all. (Spider-man 3 did $151,116,516 in the USA just in it's Friday-Sunday opening, 5 years ago. Garfield's flick did less than that since Monday night's midnight opening.)

BJ, you better hope Bond 23 will fade much faster than this latest arachnid. Otherwise, you will join the me in campaigning for weirdos to take over DC as Bond.

FBF, IF it's true that Bubbles' contract gives HIM the option to do a 4th Bond film, not Eon, but him, I am through with this franchise and I will see what the Bat becomes after TDKR and ST becomes too. With my boy Potter gone, there is NO franchise I see on the horizon to follow with all of the good ones ending this year, do you? Q, is it true if DC wants to do Bond 24 they MUST allow it, or can they buy him out, but you know the evil green vegetable will never spend money to buy him out while paying a new Cavill/Jackman to do Bond 24.

It'll take a lot more than vampires and Middle Earth to do all this dirty work. We need Les Miserables and Rise of the Guardians.

We still got Middle Earth. The second half of Bilbo's adventure is next year. Also, Iron Man's next round might be the end.

Where did you see this? I can't believe any contract would be based on Craig wants to or not, for quitting yes, for guess what I wanna remake OHMSS so give me $500 million, no I can't see it.

Here it is big O: http://www.guardian.co.uk/film/2012/apr ... l-followup "Bond 24 is also Craig's first 'optional' film from his original contract, which like recent actors before him, was three films and the first refusal at a fourth."

I don't think it means how you are taking it BJ. Ale or Mazer would have to confirm but this is from a acing advice website.
First Refusal. A request to hold an actor for a given day. It is not binding for either the producer or you. It is more of a sign of interest than an availability request, and it is not as good as a booking.

1) The Guardian cites how Sony says it wants Bond 24 in two years' time.

2) The Guardian either ignores, or wasn't aware of, a separate interview where Barbara Broccoli and Daniel Craig, in a joint interview, declare that Sony (one of Eon's business partners) got ahead of themselves and that Barbara Broccoli says "nothing's been announced" (even though, it was -- by a Sony executive, speaking to executives of theater chains).

3) The Guardian's source about the three-movies-with-an-option-for-a-fourth detail is the MI6 fan Web site. Is that true? Maybe, maybe not. MI6 does seem to told some news in advance (such as Daniel Kleinman doing the Skyfall titles). But is that definitive?

I would go with what Daniel had to say about it, we have the exact quote here someplace, basically he said he can quit after Bond 23 now Skyfall and he can be fired. He said something about it being a two way street. I'm approximating his words,

Sean Connery never got a deal where the studio was stuck with him unless he turned them down no way Daniel got one, from Barbara he might (sigh) her father would be so disappointed in her lack of business sense, however a studio would never agree to tie the future of their franchise to the whims of an actor.
