Great question! I have to say TLD LTK is right up there too but I think they did a slightly better job with TLD. TLD is one the the movies I watch and ask how can this guy be the same guy Craig is supposed to be.

Unlike DC, Tim's Bond is calm and relax.

LTK for me as well, Strange on first viewing I hated it, But either I matured or somehow it got better. But
I feel now it had a great Fleming feel to it and Dalton was Fantastic as Bond. Sad to think of how far
down market the films have become since P Brosnan.

But really, any Bond film with Connery, Lazenby, Moore, Dalton or Brosnan is fine. - Favorite Movies: Lawrence of Arabia, Silence of the Lambs, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, My Fair Lady, Beauty and the Beast, In Bruges, Ripley's Game, Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World, Life of Brian, Dirty Harry

For Your Eyes Only. In my view it is the best mixture of genuine Fleming material with the wit and gadgetry people have come to expect from the series. It is also one of the best action movies ever made. It's my favorite Bond movie overall. TLD is not too far behind though, and I have a great deal of affection for OP as well. Not a huge fan of AVTAK or LTK though.

Has to be The Living Daylights. The last John Barry score too.

And the last PG rated Bond film, though that might not be a bad thing. PG these days has connotations of kids' stuff.James wrote:Has to be The Living Daylights. The last John Barry score too.

I actually like all of the 1980's Bond films, but my most favourite is For Your Eyes Only, closely followed by A View To A Kill.

I'll go with either of the TD films as I prefer Roger's seventies Bonds over his eighties movies, fun though they were.

I think Roger was in better shape in the 70s. Spy who loved me he was in peak form
Of the 80s For Your Eyes Only followed by Octopusssy, View to kill even with Walken was had to take some times. TLD and LTK were a good way to finish off the decade.

Re: Poll: What is your favourite Bond film made in the 1980'
For a long time I have not been terribly keen on the later Moore outings, although each one seemed to have a couple of really brilliant moments scattered throughout, but lately AVTAK has won me over a lot more, although I still feel it has too many flaws to be amongst my fave Bonds. But Dalton's appearance energised things nicely and his tenure was too short by far, with both his outings as Bond being highly enjoyable. For me, though, LTK was way ahead of all the 80's entries in the series, with so much to relish, not least Davi's really nasty, tough, slippery villain. I thought Sanchez was such a good match for Bond in terms of his physical presence that I thought it was appropriate and creatively inspired to have them both locked together in a gritty hand-to-hand scuffle at the end.
Just ease back now, Jim. Relaaax. Mr. Big wants to see you.

Why do you like AVTAK now? I feel there is a lot to like because of the 1980's setting and the great cast.Jim wrote:For a long time I have not been terribly keen on the later Moore outings, although each one seemed to have a couple of really brilliant moments scattered throughout, but lately AVTAK has won me over a lot more, although I still feel it has too many flaws to be amongst my fave Bonds.
