And this mean what? it's not like it was MGM's loss so I don't see how it affects bond.

Here is the story that goes whit the picture
A Daniel Craig smile is about as common as a KitKat with no biscuit – about once every ten years.

But the moody 007 star warmed up when stuntmen gave him the bumps on the set of the new James Bond movie.

Daniel turned 44 on Friday and fellow cast members couldn't resist giving him a traditional birthday welcome. A source said: "Daniel found it really funny and took having the bumps in good spirits."

The birthday boy was also given a cake by production staff.

Sadly they stopped short of handing out party bags with whoopie cushions and Refreshers bars.
Sadly there is no real news coming out of this movie. I was telling Sweeney: Roger, Timothy, and Pierce used to do on set interviews and other things to help promote the movie I wonder if EON has not shot themselves in the foot by cone of silence attitude. NO ONE is talking about the movie and it is in production now, soon it goes to post production where no one will be talking about the movie. At this rate no one will be talking about the movie before July when the first trailer is (traditionally) released, then August or September when the second is out.

I think they forget it's been 4 years since the last poorly received Bond movie was out, Daniel's career has not been setting the world on fire, there is no real anticipation. I think they assume because they are "BOND" people will care what they do no matter what. I do not belie this is true, the weird photo released, very poor set pics are not revving people up for the unveil it's kind of WTF at the moment.

I am afraid they are about to launch another LTK on the market when no matter how good or bad it may be it will flop just just because of the way EON is handling it.

Ale What is up with CBSs Sherlock ripoff Elementary? Lucy Liu as Watson? Are these people taking this seriously or are they tossing darts at actors names on a board :cuss:

What's wrong with another Cr-egg flop? That's what we want. Do not think Bond will go away because Cr-egg's film bombs and they book a loss or break even. Bond will survive, once Cr-egg leaves. A flop shows him the door. FBF vs. the green vegetable: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/sites/ ... derson.jpg

Bond has been in hiatus since after DAD. Once Skywhatever is destroyed, we won't be needing direct opposites of Bond (Carrot Top, Vanilla Ice, etc.) anymore, but I say we can keep Fat Seagal.....at least for the next unofficial Bond.

It has to remembered that Daniel Craig was not a very famous actor when he was cast as James Bond; he did small budget British films and TV work. I was amazed to hear him described as a big star and "one of the World's greatest actors" when he became Bond, although those suggesting this were probably trying to justify his ridiculous casting.

What would Daniel Craig be doing now if he had not been cast as Bond? ITV dramas and playing villains in straight to DVD films. :D

Daniel's name came up months before the surprise boat raid where he was sea sick for his announcement as Barbara Broccoli's 007, it was so ridiculous nobody believed it could be true, in fact just about everyone believed Pierce would be back because that was the rumour from people close to production. I think if we had know for a fact Daniel was the choice for 007 the fan base would have mobilized in the summer of 2005 long before the press had their fun with Craig in the fall.
The way it worked out is Barbara had a year to spend money to get the 'Craig is attacked by meanies' meme out there.

Let's start by saying I love Lucy Liu. Second, I really don't think it's supposed to be Sherlock, but just a modern take on the concept that has very little to nothing to do with the original, other than the names. So don't get mad, I doubt it'll have anything serious to do with the original. I find it an interesting choice, to have her, because she's anything but conventional and she always plays fierce characters, so I really don't think she will be anything like Watson... if the sex difference wasn't enough

I'm unsure how this thing will end up being, but CBS is just nailing every single big drama they put in production lately, so I'd be surprised if this flops (they do have their numbers of dissatisfying products BUT stuff that is dissatisfying for CBS in terms of numbers would be just fine on ABC or FOX for example, so basically they hardly ever lose).

Listen to me Blowfeld... watch Person of Interest. THAT is one incredibly good drama. 15 mln viewers a week on its first season aren't a coincidence... and note they got back to pilot numbers, because the show is so good that it just built on its success instead of fading like most do. It's a really, really good show, especially for Bond lovers, IMO.

I'll investigate about the Sherlock thing, I don't want you upset so I'll make sure they're not ruining anything ( or if they are, I'll warn you LOL)

PS sorry, I've had busy days and I am making up for 10 days of sickness so not enough time to post :(

Yes, House was also based on the real life inspiration for Holmes a Doctor Doyle met in med school.

We talked about him in class not long ago the Doctor (Dr. Joseph Bell) was one of Doyles teachers and could deduce where the people used in med school came from what they were doing and what they did for work. He also was brought in to find Jack the Ripper, he and somebody else wrote down who they thought it was but the suspect dies a few months later and I think the story is what they wrote down burned with Scotland Yard.

Radical versions of Sherlock Holmes are not offensive because of the quantity and variety of Hoimes adaptions on television and film.

A version set in modern day New York with Lucy Liu as Watson ...and Rob Schneider as Mrs Hudson. Why not?

Thanks Ale. Hearing CBS was going to ripoff the BBC modern day Sherlock is upsetting enough, to find out they are not taking the care to find the right actors is even more upsetting. If it is based on Holmes I don't care the characters can be anything they like, if they are supposed to be Sherlock and John then they should be those characters. There are ripoffs of Nero Wolfe a similarly iconic detective and it doesn't bother me as long as the characters of Archie and Nero are left alone.

Roger I agree to a point. House M.D. is a good adaptation of Holmes however they do not pretend to be Sherlock and John. I would welcome a fresh perspective on Sherlock and John maybe making both of the characters women.

Originally Holmes & Watson were Sheridan Hope & Ormond Sacker.

There was a cartoon the kids used to love called Sherlock Holmes in the 21st century, Holmes built a robot Watson for companion and there was a female detective that came to him for help on cases to top it off it was set on the moon.
