Latest picture of bondnotblonde's choice as the next James Bond:

How does that compare to DC today? Looks younger than him? Or looks same age as him?

Does any body else think it is strange how little real news is coming out of this movie, if it were not for the tabloids it would be a dead zone. VTAK, TLD, TLK, GE, TND, TWINE, DAD, CR, were doing all kinds of stuff to promote the upcoming movie.

They want to surprise everyone with their 50th year anniversary film. They are the ones who will be shocked weekend number 2 when Twilight ends any positive word of mouth of Bond 23. After Sweeney, EA, and all of the other UK members tell us the scoop, it will be all over for Cr-egg as Bond. By the way, Cavill's Immortals($133 million) is doing BETTER overseas than Cr-egg's TGWTDT($110 million)
They have the same R rating, and Cavill's film was barely promoted. Need we say more?

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Seems to be par for the course. EON seem happy to let the rumour mill do the work of publicising the film for them. Saves on the publicity budget, I suppose.Blowfeld wrote:Does any body else think it is strange how little real news is coming out of this movie, if it were not for the tabloids it would be a dead zone. Not so much didn't work out for them and will probably not work out for Bond either. After Snakes bombed everyone started blaming everyone for why it sucked so bad.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
But it's not close to release yet no trailers no spoilers, once that starts to happen real bad word of mouth may start (If some of those rumors we talked about are true). Problem is people are expecting the moon they have promised everyone something and said they are remaking Goldfinger essentially but better because Bond should be sullen. Some people will be happy with a movie slightly bearable because QOS sucked so badly others are expecting them to hit a home run and not screw a thing up. But they already have with Craig's beard and hair cut.FormerBondFan wrote:Bond 23 has to get really bad word of mouth worse than QOS.bjmdds wrote:They are the ones who will be shocked weekend number 2 when Twilight ends any positive word of mouth of Bond 23.

It didn't really bomb, though. It was the #1 film in its opening weekend, and was made on a low budget, so I think it performed decently, just not well enough to justify the breathless news stories about how the internet was going to revolutionise movie marketing.Omega wrote: Snakes On A Plane!

I remember it as a big time failure It was 1 just by a nose. Ricky Bobby almost took 1st http://boxofficemojo.com/weekend/chart/ ... =33&p=.htm it was sad for a movie with so much hype crash so hard it dropped to 7 the next weekend.Kristatos wrote:It didn't really bomb, though. It did make $62 million total and cost $33 million maybe it did make enough to be consider a win by the studio by breaking even,, maybe

"Snakes on a Plane" debuted on August 18, 2006. Due to the amount of Internet hype surrounding the film, industry analysts estimate the movie's opening box office profit to be between $20-30 million. While "Snakes on a Plane" did narrowly beat "Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby" for #1 its opening weekend, it grossed only $15.25 million in its opening days, a disappointment for New Line Cinema. In its second weekend, the movie dropped significantly to 6th place with $6.4 million, a 58% loss from its opening weekend revenue. So what happened?
First off, if you've been living under a rock for the past couple months, here's what "Snakes on a Plane" is all about. Samuel L. Jackson drives the film in a typical Samuel L. role. He's Neville Flynn, a tough, veteran FBI agent. Flynn must get a federal witness safely to Los Angeles so he can testify against a vicious mob boss. The publicized title says it all. The gangster, not concerned about collateral damage, slips a shipment of enraged snakes on Flynn's plane. A time-release lock sets the lethal reptiles loose while the plane is over the Pacific and Flynn ends up leading the passengers and crew as they fight off the never-ending number of snakes. A little Chihuahua gets eaten by a viper, and a nasty British man who hates dogs is swallowed by a python. You know the deal. Most would think that the movie could be modestly satisfying, especially due to its considerable Internet fan base.
The film wrapped up in September 2005, but after anticipation of the upcoming film grew to unexpected levels, the studio later ordered five days of additional re-shooting to raise the MPAA rating from PG to R. One journalist even wrote: "Snakes on a Plane" is "perhaps the most internet-hyped film of all time." Much of the initial publicity came from a Weblog entry made by screenwriter Josh Friedman, who had been offered a chance to work on the script. The fact that about 450 live snakes representing about 25 different species were used also raised a few eyebrows. Furthermore, the casting of Jackson also increased anticipation. At one point, the film's working title was altered to Pacific Air Flight 121. In August 2005, Jackson told an interviewer, "We're totally changing that back. That's the only reason I took the job: I read the title." On March 2, 2006, the studio changed the title back to "Snakes on a Plane." Once Web geeks heard that irresistible title, they began creating their own posters and dialogue and sending in their ideas. New Line Cinema, sensing a new hit, listened to the people of the Internet. Instead of making a safe, cheesy PG crowd-pleaser, they made the R-rated gruesome feature you see today.
To add to the "Snakes on a Plane" Internet franchise, earlier in the year New Line Cinema partnered with networking site TagWorld to sponsor a soundtrack contest among hundreds of indie bands. On June 22, Captain Ahab's song "Snakes on the Brain" won out over nearly 500 entries for the theme song and won a spot on the "Snakes on a Plane" soundtrack. The runner-up Louden Swain also got a spot on the soundtrack with their song "Here Come The Snakes." The soundtrack came out August 18, 2006.
Unfortunately, snakes plus a plane plus a year of Internet hype do not make it a Blockbuster hit. Even if people can go on the Internet and request that Samuel L. Jackson call their friend over the phone to order them to go see the movie. All of these Web tricks only seem to be working for, well... the Web geeks. They seem to have been the only viewers if we look at the disappointing box office numbers. "Snakes on a Plane" - a high-flying cinematic production about a can-do FBI agent struggling to save a planeload of innocent passengers from poisonous reptiles just doesn't do the trick for everyone I guess. Maybe next time they will put a little more thought into the concept of the movie

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Checking on Box Office Mojo, I see it did worse than I had thought. $63 million was its worldwide gross, I thought that was domestic, and that it had only cost around $15 million to make.

Well, at least now there aren't a zillion " I got spoilered and I didn't want to!!" threads on MI6 and elsewhere. There are people that will click on those threads even though it says "SPOILER!!!" in huge letters.

"Skyfall - the new Bond film with Daniel Craig back as 007, and Fiennes and Javier Bardem in the cast. The film is currently in production, and Logan is still hands on.
"There's always tweaking to be done," he says, giving nothing away.
"I've been with Skyfall for over a year now. It's been the most fun experience I've ever had on a movie. It's like being part of a theatre company.
"I grew up on Bond and working with Sam [Mendes] is a dream because we're both theatre animals. We both speak the same language about story and character."
Logan reveals he has just finished writing a new play and is currently writing a screen adaptation of the Jersey Boys musical.
What's the play about? "The only thing more secret than Bond is my stage work," he teases. "All I can say is it will be in London this time next year."

Just letting you all know I am not dead (yet LOL), though I feel like death because I have a nasty bronchitis and flu so spent the past 2 days in bed. I shall resurface when I feel like a human being again. LOL
