Re: US Election 2012
Mitt Romney won the New Hampshire primary Tuesday night with a broad-based coalition of both conservative and moderate voters overwhelmingly motivated by their worries about America’s economic future and wanting above all to beat President Barack Obama in November.
According to exit poll data, more than a third of voters on Tuesday said the quality that mattered most in deciding their vote was the candidate’s ability to defeat Obama. Romney won an overwhelming 62 percent of those voters.
Regardless of how they voted, 56 percent of Tuesday’s voters thought Romney would be most likely to beat Obama in November; the runner-up in that category was Rep. Ron Paul of Texas with only 15 percent and only 11 percent saw former ambassador to China Jon Huntsman as most likely to defeat Obama. Results for New Hampshire Republican Primary (U.S. Presidential Primary)
Jan 10, 2012 (97% of precincts reporting)
Mitt Romney 96,488 39.3%
Ron Paul 56,105 22.9%
Jon Huntsman 41,370 16.9%
Newt Gingrich 23,158 9.4%
Rick Santorum 22,976 9.4% Hillary got 39% in 2008: Oh-bama 37% in 2008 in NH. So no BS from any pundits that 39% is not good in a 6 candidate race

Try it again Kris. I checked the photo after I posted it and it worked fine. Now it says 403 Forbiddenbjmdds wrote:Romney is going strong with about 39% of the New Hampshire tally, yet the liberal pundits say 60% of the NH electorate wanted someone else.A moronic statement. When 6 people are vying for the same office, 40% is d**n good. Hillary got 39% to Oh-bama's 37% in New Hampshire in 2008
I guess 61% of the Democrats wanted some else by that logic. I am fed up with all of these tv pundits. They are all morons, on both sides, except O'Reilly. I find him as straight forward as one can be on tv these days. By the way, Oh-bama's new VP candidate will be: http://msnbcmedia4.msn.com/j/msnbc/Comp ... id-6x2.jpg

Real Clear Politics current poll average shows his approval rating around the 45% mark. I'm pretty sure Bush had already fallen to below 20% by this stage in the last election cycle.bjmdds wrote:"OBAMA‘S APPROVAL RATING FINALLY DROPS BELOW CARTER’S: WORST OF ANY PRESIDENT AT THIS STAGE OF HIS TERM":

Re: US Election 2012
I think Obama messed up attacking Willard too early. The republicans can eat their won and attack him for Bain, honestly I do not think it will hold much water and the election process moves forward. Obama jumping on it tell me he wants Romny to run against, and that he can paint him as a 01% which is a term the astroturf DNC puppet occupy likes. And nobody has done more for wall street than Obama
I think ROmny purposely said thing and left the door open for these attacks. What happens when these attacks get going this early is by the time October rolls around nobody cares any more. They can say all day long Romny fired people and the truth is in a way he did but the companies were going under to start with, what he did do is he saved a hell of a lot of jobs. My guess is the americna people will be open to a native where he says these companies were going out of business I bought them to cut the dead wood and turn them around if possible, this is what a lot of us would like to see done to out country, since it seems obama is the same as everyone before him set on ballooning government and trimming the military.
If they really want to start this fight Obama if firing tens of thousands of military family, where the hell do they go in a bad economy, and why do these people not matter to our unemployment numbers
The most important thing it tells me is Obama gave up governing and is in campaign mode.
Oh the other reason Obama want Romny is Romny Care, but by the time he is nominated the supreme court will have deiced if it is legal or not and ROmny will be in a position to defend tearing it down as he understands it or building a new better bill with isn't the Dems version a QOS script passed in to law.

Re: US Election 2012
I don't see Obama doing much attacking yet. He doesn't need to, while the primary candidates are busy attacking each other. That'll change once primary season is over, of course.Dr. No wrote:I think Obama messed up attacking Willard too early. Re: US Election 2012
Romney has opened up the widest advantage to date over his Republican rivals in a nationwide Gallup survey, and for the first time has the support of more than a third of GOP voters.Romney leads Rick Santorum 34-15%, with Newt Gingrich at 14% and Ron Paul at 13% in the survey, conducted from Jan. 7-11 among a nationwide sample of 1,188 Republican registered voters.Since 1976, the Republican candidate who leads the field nationally after the New Hampshire primary has gone on to win the nomination.

Yesterday he had some union people on a podium with him ripping in to Romney/Bain. Then someones in some communications part of the white house add on to it.Kristatos wrote:I don't see Obama doing much attacking yet. I see why they can make this argument but Bain was not the vulture capitalist they are trying to paint them to be (Newt has ads here every five minutes trying to make this point), most of the investors are working class people, Bain has also given more money to Obama.
I think what this attack will do if Romney has a reasonable explanation for it is immunize him by the time he gets the nomination at the convention. Taking arrows out of Obama's quiver.
On other news how the hell are we out of money!? Again?! I thought the last bill was supposed to get us through the election! What the hell has Obama spent it on? Vacations?

Re: US Election 2012
This election is about ONE item: Oh-bama, period
Just as the 2008 election was about Bush. Bain is a non-issue for 2012. Obama now wants to shrink the government? Really? After expanding $100,000 salaries to czars and his buddies? What a joke. It's time for Perry and nasty Newt and loon Paul to get lost already.

Re: US Election 2012
In South Carolina -- where Romney might be expected to poll poorly given how deeply social conservatives mistrust him -- he has instead opened up a 9-point lead in the RealClearPolitics average. He leads by an even larger average margin, 15 points, in Florida, which will be an important swing state in the general election.

Re: US Election 2012
That surprises me, since I lived in SC for 6 years. It's the sort of state where I'd expect either a social conservative like Santorum or a libertarian like Ron Paul to win.bjmdds wrote:In South Carolina -- where Romney might be expected to poll poorly given how deeply social conservatives mistrust him -- he has instead opened up a 9-point lead in the RealClearPolitics average. Re: US Election 2012
Correct Kris;however, the disgust for Oh-bama is permeating the conservative mindset so deeply that THIS TIME, a winning vote is more important than an ideological one. At all costs to conservatives, Oh-bama MUST go. If Romney wins in SC and Florida, Perry and Santorum will drop out leaving a pouting and nasty Newt and a 75 year old isolationist still running.

Re: US Election 2012
Sad to say, for many people in the Deep South, their number 1 priority is electing a white President. And they don't come much whiter than Romney.bjmdds wrote:Correct Kris;however, the disgust for Oh-bama is permeating the conservative mindset so deeply that THIS TIME, a winning vote is more important than an ideological one. Huntsman is the latest candidate to drop out. Perry will be next, I suspect, though he says it will be after the South Carolina primary.
