Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
OMG are you planning a trip?
(had to ask..it was teh first thing that came to my mind!)
Of those,I've only been to Friday's. I don't go out to eat as much as I used to;if I do it's neighborhood places. I've got a favorite coffee place close to my house(but I have to say:I got a Keurig one cup coffee maker for Christmas and I love it!)

I was curious if you have the same food chains in California as we do in New York/New Jersey. There are sooooo many different ones everywhere here, Chile's, Applebee's, as well as the others I mentioned.

"Scenes for the next James Bond movie Skyfall are reported to have started filming in Greenwich, London, yesterday.
The world famous Old Royal Naval College was the set for the scenes, which apparently featured eight coffins draped in union flags.
One passer by wrote on Twitter: "Walked past eight hearses with flag draped coffins at the Chapel at the Old Royal Naval College. The funeral scene for the new James Bond."
Dame Judi Dench, who plays 007's boss M in the movie franchise, was also reportedly sighted there." As you can see, coffins and more dreary plots are coming into place for this mess. The only Bond funeral I look forward to is that of DC's "career" as Bond. THAT I cannot wait for

Yup, we've got Applebee's. The one I wish we had here is Cracker Barrel.I went to one in Oklahoma around Thanksgiving.Their food is really good;probably regional wherever they are(Southern Cracker Barrels have more soul food-y stuff, as as example). I also love Waffle House. Their Sweet Tea is, as advertised, sweet!

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
I never heard of either of those two. It is interesting to see the regional hot spots to "ett" at. Look at this: "Eight coffins draped in union jack flags and arranged in two neat rows occupied the vaulted ceilinged room which normally houses the elegant tables and chairs of the King William Undercroft restaurant.
MI6 chief M, played for the seventh time by national treasure Judi Dench, was filmed in the undercroft, surveying the gruesome aftermath of a mass assassination of her agents. Thankfully, although entirely predictably, James Bond – portrayed for the third time by Daniel Craig – was not among them." http://www.bleedingcool.com/wp-content/ ... jpg?d9c344

Ugh..Do we need a melodramatic Bond movie? And a movie that is shaping up to hardly focus on Bond at all? I'll pass. That's $10 that could be better spent elsewhere.

Do you think Pierce will dodge a Razzie nomination for I Don't Know How She Does It? Him winning a Razzie Worst Supporting Actor for Mamma Mia is bad enough for his post-Bond career, and I can bear to him getting another one whether it's Worst Supporting Actor or Worst On-Screen Couple.bjmdds wrote:Fine by me. They're building a Arclight movie theater(which started in L.A.) at one of our malls here in San Diego. You think $14.50 is bad?Arclight's going to be charging much closer to $20. Still, I suppose I'll go at least once to see what it's like.

No Razzie for Pierce. The film itself might get one with SJP in the lead.FormerBondFan wrote:Do you think Pierce will dodge a Razzie nomination for I Don't Know How She Does It? That sounds about right for IMAX.. I saw an IMAX movie and it was expensive..i would have to REALLY want to see the movie(like the Hobbit) to spend that much money.Certainly not for Bond 23.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
My synopsis of Mendes's mindset with Logan: M retires on her own I bet after the 8 agents get slaughtered due to ties to her past. She asks Bond to help clear her name and prove her innocence. She requests a new M be brought in and that is where Fiennes makes his debut and he puts in place Q branch to make sure it never happens again. After her name is cleared, she retires, ending all ties to Pierce's Bond, even though the current Dench role never knew Pierce's Bond because DC was promoted by her to a 00
This is the stupidity of Eon. Nothing makes any chronological sense and nothing is enjoyable.

The Hobbit may be worth the price to see in 3D. The price of tickets of the last 2 years is getting outrageous. Even around here we see $10 tickets and up.katied wrote:That sounds about right for IMAX.. The Hobbit I would pay $20 to see in IMAX or 3D. Seeing Bond 23:Nothing Special
in 3D or IMAX would be throwing your money away.

I hear David Arnold wont be composing the music for 'Skyfall' as he's been given the task of doing the job of the music for the London 2012 Olympics.
Instead 'Thomas Newman' a composer used by Mendes in the past is to do the score.
Does anyone know of Newmans work, and do they think it would be suitable for a Bond film?
I hope we dont get a Michel Legrand type score, or that will alienate Bond fans further.
Shame Arnold cant do the music, as that has always been very Bondian.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
I was wondering this, I remember Arnold from earlier movies long before Bond he was memorable. I've seen the new guys movie but I don't remember being impressed with the score. He has won awards but I'd rather someone like whoever scored the Incredibles.English Agent wrote:I hear David Arnold wont be composing the music for 'Skyfall' as he's been given the task of doing the job of the music for the London 2012 Olympics.

I think Arnold will be missed big time. IMO this is a bad omen for Skyfall.

Chief of Staff, 007's gone round the bend. Says someone's been trying to feed him a poisoned banana. Fellow's lost his nerve. Been in the hospital too long. Better call him home.
