DC's 2011 films didn't fare well at the box office. I hope Bond 23 is next in line as the next victim.

Not a big Tom Cruise fan or of the MI series but this was very good and used locations I think Bond should of 6 years ago.

Funny how big Simon Pegg got, he is a bigger star then Craig and he got there by not always trying to be the "leading" man

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Was just reading news that France broke box office gross records (total) this year. So the Craigster and his crew won't be able to blame the failure of TGWTDT on scarce attendance since it is the exact opposite there... I'm curious to see what happens. Saw a promo for it on TV here, it's premiering next weekend here (If I remember correctly). My mom and dad (unison) "how is this UGLY dude James Bond!?!"
And they are the ORIGINAL Bond fans, who were living their youth when Connery started.
"Are we on coms?"

Why are the boxofficemojo numbers for Tattoo all estimates from day one of release? Are they lower?

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/ar ... ds-newsxml Are the people at Sony insane
Going ahead with a sequel off a bomb and keeping the corpulent-egoed porcupine for two more of these? This is stark raving lunacy and this is why we will be stuck with this shmuck as Bond for another decade
They keep saying the film is on it's way to paying for itself as it approaches $90 million;however, at that point, they will still be $45 million in the red
"A Sony representative told Entertainment Weekly development for The Girl Who Played With Fire is still moving forward despite the current Daniel Craig led entry in the series under performing. The rep said: '[Dragon Tattoo] continues to do strong business and nothing has changed with respect to development of the next book." Strong business in 5th place??????????? It's a madhouse at Sony folks.........a maaaaaaaaaaaaaadhouse
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VFCM6TZgTMI This same article calls it correctly: "Christmas turkeys: Performances by Daniel and Rooney were not enough to pull in viewers in the important Christmas period."

It does seem a bit odd when the movie was not a hit..sorry to bring up The Golden Compass again, but did they not learn from that? Look, I could list all of the non- Bond duds that Craig has been in, but I won't. But the box office numbers don't lie.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
It is going to be very obvious if they decide not to make it. Everyone knows Capt America 2, Thor 2 were depending on how well they did and how well a sequel might do. Girl Who series they do not need as big a audience as Bond, Thor, X-men, and on.katied wrote:It does seem a bit odd when the movie was not a hit..sorry to bring up The Golden Compass again, but did they not learn from that? Maybe Craig will man up and do the right thing, cut his own salary for the sequel.

Funny that we're talking Tom Cruise's financial situation -I read somewhere today that his son has been DJ-ing and gets $10,000 per gig
Never mind that he's 16 and not nearly old enough to get in clubs-legally, anyways- being Tom Cruise's kid has its perks!

Just saw Good Morning America today, and it said that Ralph Fiennes will take over from Judi Dench once she retires.

I loves me some Dame Judi, but Ralph Fiennes is a big get. Let's hope getting some truly A list actors gets the Green Vegetable to come up with something that's not a total mess!

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
EON Production revealed to MovieWeb that "Skyfall" will be Dench's final 007 appearance as M, and Fiennes is set to carry on the character into the unforeseeable future. The insider said, "Ralph Fiennes plays a government agent, which we never get a name on, because he is set to play the new M."
" 'Skyfall' centers around M (Dench) where her past forces her to leave as head of MI6, and find a new M. The board of MI6 then turns to a government agent (Fiennes) to take over," explained the source. "M is now forced to train the new head of MI6."

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Voldemort was killed in Harry Potter and I hope the same is done in Bond 23 to Cr-egg's career. Fiennes is beyond an M bit role part. It appears M's past is the premise of Bond 23 so we can expect little change to escapism in this non-interesting trash as well. Dench probably wants out from this mess any way now. The new Q is miscast and Fiennes as M is miscast. I guess the green vegetable is tired of a woman running MI6 and thinks that by replacing her with a man she is returning her Bond films to their artistic roots. Wrong
Cr-egg will be surrounded by an immature Q, and an M, that are BETTER looking than his potato sacked face
Madness.......sheer madness

Tatto's actual numbers were LOWER than estimated and are at $62 million in the USA through yesterday, after 14 days of release. Sequel? Really? It's all downhill now.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
I wonder what's in M's past that would cause her to have to resign from MI6
I hope they just have her resigning and walking off into the sunset instead of having her go through the ropes of training her replacement and then being killed off(as some fanboys have suggested she be written out.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
It's setting up as a movie more about Dench and Fiennes and Q and MP then about Bond: The internet is already buzzing negatively: "There's no question that the franchise just won't be the same without Dench. But will fans warm to Fiennes in the role the way they have embraced John Cleese as Q? Or will the thought of the world's freedom being in the hands of Lord Voldemort be too much? Either way, it looks like this time, Chicken Little was right, because the sky really is falling in the 007 universe." http://www.worstpreviews.com/images/hea ... e22204.jpg This is NOT M
He is a youthful 49 and looks better than Danielle. It's nuts
Ale, do you like the casting for this BiZARRO Bond film

Dench should of left when Bond rebooted. Fiennes as M, I dunno. In a way I can see it in another way I think they shoudl get a guy like in TLD.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Sony is headed for disaster, decision by decision :"The Amazing Spider-Man (July 3): Just five years after Spider-Man 3 earned nearly $900 million worldwide but was still bad enough to kill the Sam Raimi-Tobey Maguire franchise, Sony is attempting to reboot the lucrative franchise with a whole new cast and crew. It's going to be tricky to get audiences out to see a retelling of Peter Parker's origin story with such a definitive version available from just 10 years ago, and that's compounded by the fact that the villain this time around is B-lister the Lizard instead of the Green Goblin. Still, rumors are that the movie is being made on the cheap, and, similar to The Hunger Games, The Amazing Spider-Man already has a sequel on the schedule (May 2,2014)."
