We shall carry out the contingency plan by sending Carrot Top to be next Bond. No Cavill, no Jackman, no Fassbender, no Bale......forget the handsome, dark hair types. CARROT TOP AS BOND, everyone. And that's too bad for bondnotblonde (better known for his obsession of Jerry Sadowitz).bjmdds wrote:If it's not FBF, you know what to do. We cannot tolerate another film like this in 2014.

"The big loser on Friday actually looks to be Steven Spielberg, with his War Horse and The Adventures of Tintin finishing sixth and seventh, respectively." Spielberg looks done to me now and all of his pairings with DC have failed in the USA. Spielberg has probably had enough of DC by now or else he too is one of the green vegetable's infected minions of CR-egg worshippers.

The Apes and The Hangover II did great as well. Cr-egg's cowboy film tanked. Henry's Immortals was in 30th place and beat Cr-egg's cowboy caper. Interesting to see what worked and what failed. DC has his resume updated to 3 more underperforming films.

Most movies this year its opening weekend before a decent cam shows up. Now Blu-ray and dvd rips are out literally months ahead of time..Alessandra wrote:
AW thank you, I love being here! But I wasn't here in 2008. The thing with torrents is, there aren't only torrents, but other releases too, and most of all, the most difficult ones to find are only on SOME private sites, and most people don't have access to them. I do, of course
(will alert you guys about Skyfall of course). So yeah, I had seen QoS stuff d**n quick. And this year especially, every single action movie was there within 3 days tops. They released it, a maximum 3 days after the CAM release was out there. Takes a week to 10 days to have the better version with the perfect audio etc. but people are d**n fast with the stuff now.
I think the UK release date is definitely a mistake, too. I can take bets there WILL be torrents out there before it hits US theaters... and what will hurt it (IF it is bad, there's still a chance it isn't) is word of mouth, like you said, rather than the torrents themselves. Actually if the movie is good torrents HELP IT because people get a glimpse at how good it is and go see it at the theater. If it's bad, well, needless to say, people know and they won't bother![]()
FBF I'm sorry but no it's not an idea or a plan to have the franchise crash. Another actor CAN AND WILL take over the role once Craig is done, and we need the franchise to still be alive for that. The fact HE doesn't portray Bond doesn't mean that Bond is dead at all... it just means HE cannot do it. But Henry can, and others will be able to as well. It's just a matter of getting rid of Craig (and of course ousting the smelly green veggie... )
Agree completely. How many more Bond films do you think Pierce had in him? Personally, I'd have liked to see a non-reboot CR with Brozza as Bond, to give him the chance to do a more down-to-earth, less special effects driven Bond film, like he always wanted. But my feeling is that it should have been his last Bond film regardless. I'd hate to see him go on playing Bond when he was too old for the role, like Sean and Roger did.
BJ, I will personally drive you to Lake Como and we'll have an aperitivo once the Craigster and the cruciferous veggie are out of the way!
Most of the places I am in do not allow open membership anymore.
Brosnan was great as Bond, the movie could be better in some cases but he was great and he knew his time was coming. Cavell as Bond I do not anyone would protest him as Bond, Craig does not look like or act like Bond that is a big difference. I do not like how Pierce was treated but a decent Bond and Bond movies like TLD and GE would go a long way.

What does everyone think was the best movie of 2011. A lot of good action movies, I'm torn between X-men first class and Rise of the Apes.

Mine is "The Help". A truly fantastic movie. Superb acting and writing. And as far as action, pretty sure MI4 takes the top spot.Omega wrote:What does everyone think was the best movie of 2011. A lot of good action movies, I'm torn between X-men first class and Rise of the Apes.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
You said a mouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuthful people
2012 is now upon us. In 10 3/4 months EA and Sweeney will be posting their reviews of
, what will hopefully be, the LAST Eon produced film Danielle Cr-egg ever does
Between the UK opening and the USA opening, the fate of future Bond films will be determined. Bootleg DVDs
will be rampant prior to the USA opening so we will have a pretty good feel on where this trash goes weekend 2, for weekend 1 will be a given $55-60 million opening. Anything less than that, weekend 2 is irrelevant for Twilight will destroy
Cr-egg's career in one fell swoop. Repeat purchases of $13.50 tickets is what will drive or sink Bond 23. I want to see how soon after it's run ends that DC is fired
by Sony and MGM, for Eon will NEVER relinquish his contract without a fight
. If they plan on a 2014 film, the axe must fall quickly. If they still plan on more of these classless DC films
, to hell with the franchise
. This is it folks
. DC either becomes a 3 time loser as Bond
and is fired
or he continues on to ruin the franchise permanently
. ALL attention is on one thing: the green
vegetable's threshold of power over the future of her daddy's franchise. EA, we await your reviews. I will not spend 1 penny on it. Bootleg DVDs await. The week of November 6-9th 2012 looms large with hopefully a new USA President
and a new Bond
Get ready.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Reserve the sympathy for two directors who usually don't require tears: David Fincher and Cameron Crowe.
Fincher's "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo," Sony's R-rated movie based on Stieg Larsson's bestselling novel, is limping into its second week of release. The movie opened the evening of Dec. 20.
As of Tuesday, the movie, which stars Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara, had grossed only about $32.5 million domestically. A movie with a big-name actor, a big-name director and big-name source material would be expected to perform better. But it's a tough movie for Christmastime -- a hard R film about murder, incest and rape.
While there's plenty to be said for counterprogramming, this highly anticipated movie, which cost an estimated $100 million to make, hasn't yet caught on in nearly the numbers initially expected. But it's certainly a better New Year's Eve movie than Christmas film.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Sequels are ruling the box office New Year's weekend 2011/12, as "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol" and "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows" are tops. "M:I 4" earned $30 million, according to studio estimates. That brings its domestic box office total to $133 million.
"Sherlock" took in an estimated $22.1 million, and its domestic box office total is now at $132 million. "Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked," "War Horse" and "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" round out the top 5 with $18.25 million, $16.9 million and $16.3 million, respectively. "Chipwrecked" is inching towards the $100 million mark, as its total is up to $94 million.
"The Iron Lady" earned over $220,000 at just four locations in its limited release. "Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part I" took in another $2 million, bringing its domestic box office total to over $275 million.
The rest of the Top 10 is as follows:
6. "We Bought a Zoo," $14.3 M
7. "The Adventures of Tintin," $12 M
8. "New Year's Eve," $6.7 M
9. "The Darkest Hour," $4.3 M
10. "The Descendants," $3.65 M
Tattoo and Tin Tin are NOT firing at the box office. Each UNDERPERFORMED the second weekend estimates. What's the excuse now? Also, why are the daily totals for Tattoo ONLY estimates and not actual totals?

It wouldn't be good on our side if Bond 23 grosses more both QOS and CR, especially here in the US, and/or receive even a single Oscar nomination in the technical category.

{The new movie stars Rooney Mara in the title role and Daniel Craig of “James Bond” fame. “I think it was always going to be a tough sell to American audiences since it had no major stars that sell tickets here. Plus, it was set overseas, in Sweden,” says Gitesh Pandya of BoxofficeGuru.com.} Someone finally admits DC does not sell in the USA.
