Captain america

I remember the 1980 movies, I hated it and Captain america, this was impressive. I don't know how they did it but the actor playing the good captain was excellent. More than a goody two shoes a truly likable all american character.

The Rum Diary- it flopped at the box office this weekend but it hasn't opened in other countries yet and it may find an audience overseas.

I enjoyed it-having been to Puerto Rico(where the movie takes place in 1960), it was really fun for me to see a lot of places that I recognized. Puerto Rico is absolutely beautiful-one of the greenest places I have ever been-they get a LOT of rain.

Now, I'm neither here nor there where Johnny Depp is concerned, but I *really* liked him in this movie. There are some great supporting roles as well, too.

Saw Tintin earlier this evening. Not as great as I was hoping for, given the talent involved, but still fun. And it certainly vindicates the people who say that Craig would be better as a villain than as Bond. He actually seemed to be having fun with the villain role, unlike his dour performance as Bond.

I bet he would make a great Star Trek villain.

I'd definitely recommend it if you're looking for a good family film to take your nieces and nephews to. It is - and I know this may sound hard to believe - a PG film that is completely devoid of fart gags and grating pop culture references.

It was at that. Somehow I couldn't help feeling disappointed. I do wish they had not used Indiana Jones music at every opportunity, it was Steven Spielberg blatantly ripping himself off.

Re: Daniel. Honestly I couldn't tell it was him from his voice very good voice work, in fact the whole movie is full of great voice acting.
Image
Where I could tell it was him;
Red Rackham boarding the Unicorn through the flames, unmistakeably Daniel's prissy walk. Also Red Rackhams costume seemed to close fitting like Daniel likes. The Other giveaway was the look of hate Red Rackham gave Sir Francis, there Daniel Craig's features come pouring out.
And the fighting at the end of the movie, Daniel frenetic hyperactive fighting once again spoils a easy fight. He over does it. Biggest problem is how slight Daniel is come across big time, the head of Sakharine looked super imposed on a body too small for it. That is not Daniel's fault the director should have fixed the problem long before it hit the theatres

I would recommend the movie to people looking for good family film, however I don't know if people (read in the colonies) who are not fans of Tintin should bother. I hope Peter Jackson gets his turn at directing Tintin because I think he will do a much better job as well as fix the feeling this movie was too short by concluding the story.

Spielberg ripping himself off? And yet there are fanboys who praise him to the high heavens. WTF indeed. :cuss:

Actually, it seems to be the Tintin fans who are most upset by the film, wheeling out the tired old "raping my childhood" phrase at every opportunity.

True story:My youngest nephew, who is 11, used to be really afraid of the Muppets. But we went to see a movie where they one of the the previews was for the Muppets movie. He didn't freak out, so I think he's not afraid of them anymore, which is good.I still say my brother should take his two older boys(and maybe my niece) to see Tin Tin.

Most of the reviews i've read say that it's a return to form for The Muppets. Apart from the ones on Fox News, of course.

we went to Tintin ummm... I didn't like it. I wanted to walk out the first 3o min to do something else (that never happen to me I get in to the whole watching the movie thing). I was bored by it and when the story did pick up it ended in a stupid way. I didn't like the nice collector being the bad guy and the action was contrived and too predictable. I may of seen some of the tintin cartoons growing up I really don't remember but this i felt was too obvious to be enjoyable. I kinda hope they do not make more Spielberg and Lucas have lost their touch. COmpletely!

The kids liked it ok i guess if it weren't for the dog I think they'd be upset. I actually like the Clone wars cartoon movie in comparison, it introduces the characters and has a better story. the mishmash running around I normally like but....... after the desert plane crash they lost any interest i had.

I do not think the cast was bad I think it is all on Spielberg.
