According to Box Office Mojo, our boy wizard's final journey has now beaten Darth Vader's first entrance's (ROTS) US numbers.

Jackman could take over for 2014 Bond looking great.Craig is already too old and is fixing to finish killing off the Bond Franchise for good this time as American Bond Beauty swings in production. Are they going to film over the collapsed graves of the people kill in the Turkey quake too?The Sweeney wrote:Naaaah...he'll be too old by the time Craig retires from the role.bjmdds wrote:Jackman is on the way.........

Jackman could bang out 3 films in 5 years and turn it over to Henry........case closed and perfectly timed age wise for both.

I don't think so considering the current climate. And I do think the frontrunner is still Henry Cavill. They can't afford another unknown. Nobody can nowadays. They'll go the Brosnan route. Well-known but not a mega star yet. Not to mention with the revamped interest there is in 60s style on TV, it's guaranteed (unless they're utterly stupid, which actually could be said about EONThe Sweeney wrote:Naaaah...he'll be too old by the time Craig retires from the role.bjmdds wrote:Jackman is on the way.........

Sigh. I don't want it to be because it could tank the franchise for good. Like you said previously, it just needs to do badly enough to teach them a lesson, but please not tank miserably or we'll be without a franchise. The fact people don't get it is just because they know squat about the film industry and how profit works. I do not understand why it is that people assume that box office GROSS (it's called GROSS for a reason)=PROFIT. It's like saying that big SALES for a company mean the company is doing great. Not true at all. Company can have massive sales and book a major loss. That's what box office gross is, it is merely SALES for the companies involved. Of course people also completely disregard the fact that the studio gets the lowest percentage of the box office gross because most goes to theaters and distributors. They know nothing about it and that's why some keep saying QoS was a success when it booked a loss and dropped 65% in week 2. BUT, this doesn't matter when it comes to the studio. The studio KNOWS how much money they make out of a movieI've been saying that practically since QOS's second weekend, when it dropped by around 65%. However, some people still seem to think that QOS was a success, based purely on its opening weekend and final box office total. I had this argument with a poster on Doctor Who forum Gallifrey Base. I don't think he was a studio shill, he just seemed incapable of grasping anything more nuanced than "QOS grossed nearly $600 million worldwide, therefore it was a hit". Sadly, I suspect he was all too typical of the average moviegoer, which is why Bond 23 needs to be a conspicuous failure.

If Bond 23 get even a single Oscar nomination, we can kiss the idea bringing in Hugh, Henry, or any other traditional actors as James Bond. Instead, summon Carrot Top as Bond. Yes, I meant CARROT TOP!bjmdds wrote:http://www.peopleschoice.com/pca/polls/ ... 1000000830 Vote. Jackman wins. Ale, you will have to be patient another 5 years before Henry gets the role. FBF, it is YOUR personal responsibility to MAKE SURE Adele does NOT sing the Bond 23 theme song, The Sky Is Falling, and there are NO Oscar nominations for this ghastly under grossing film. Do whatever you have to do.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
BJ, I'd have no problem with that whatsoever. But I just don't think it's going to happen with Hugh. I think this is definitely a Sony/MGM plan at this point, but it's to create stir more than anything else. Look, I ADORE Hugh Jackman, but he too is getting too old for the role (even though he looks WAY younger than Daniel Craig) and I can't see them going into a commitment with him. That said, if it happens trust me I'll be thrilled. Because I'm sure should it happen that Henry will DEFINITELY be his successor. Btw I went into the poll and voted for Hugh of course. For the record: at that point, I would very much like Gerard Butler, too. I've loved his latest work AND with this new, longer haircut and in that L'Oréal commercial he is TOTALLY James Bond.
We're exactly stuck with that. And given what's happening on TV with 60s style, I think we won't be stuck with the vulgarity and working class approach of Craig after Bond 23. And that's why Henry Cavill is the perfect man, too (or Hugh Jackman as well). Gentleman and arms-trained in real life. Owner of an Aston Martin in real life. Tall, dark, VERY handsome. And d**n good at fighting scenes, not to mention imposing. Also, an actually good actor, with classic Shakespearean training. Which is an important aspect of it. This will happen.. or I'll go get Babs and tie her to a chair until she says YES YOU ARE RIGHT HIRE HIM IMMEDIATELY.Good point. Alas, Craig can't do style, he can't do class, he can't do charm, he can't do humour. We're stuck with this vulgar working class version of Bond.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
When I read the internet chatter from web critics, I cannot believe how they think replacing Cr-egg will not be an easy task? What galaxy are they residing in? Replacing the morbid moron would be the EASIEST correction EVER done in Bond films. Are these drones to the queen veggy? On her payroll? There are ONLY 2 people worthy of Bond in this time frame..........Jackman and Cavill........end of story.Alessandra wrote:BJ, I'd have no problem with that whatsoever. But here's the main problem. Like I said many times before, that bitch is going to do anything to make Bond 23 a success (especially here in the US), beating QOS's and even CR's numbers.bjmdds wrote:Tie her to a chair as in CR? I read some fans are saying Less action etc is a good thing it will have more of a FRWL feel,
Really.
They think this bunch of loooooovies and morons could produce another FRWL.
as soon as Craig arrives on set he'll start rewriting his part into his usual " slightly sad and morose "character
he does in all his films and which has proved to be sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Popular
with the cinemas audiances.
It's going to be QOS2 but with no action sequences of note, So it will be about 80 minutes of Bond being
Emotional in various parts of the world ( Still crying over Vesper ). With M coming over at some point to
tell him something about letting go of the past.
Another Tu*d of a Film. I'm sure Cubby is spinning in his grave so much right now he could Produce electricity.
I can't find the words to say how Pis**d off I am about, The green veg and her Direction for Bond.
Really.

Stuff what they say, if people really think bond should be a pretentious, self loathing twat with the personality of a turnip crossed with being the love child of fester from the adams family and smeagul golum from lord of the rings that's their opinion.Thunderpussy wrote:I read some fans are saying Less action etc is a good thing it will have more of a FRWL feel,

Bond is escapism not some half-assed artsy fartsy crap, eon are like George Lucas now or to another extent Chuck Lorre with 2 and a half men, like Kutcher replacing sheen and crrrrraggggge replacing the real actors as bond it's a joke, Craig may as well have been taken from the jeremy kyle show, I'm not an actor but I've got a crapload of class and I dress smart (but crap with women ) but regardless all I'm saying is I take pride in My apprearance, why can't this overpaid, overinflated moron do the same?.
If babs wants him so bad send the green green turnip with gollum boy on a boat and tell them to never come back, along with his artsy friends who wouldn't know bond if he came up to them and said hello I'm james bond... and most likely in a few mins you'll more then likely forget this as if someone has used the force on them.
You know what eon, let's have bond pick up a skull, put him on stage, dress him in a toto, get him to dance the macarena, put on a womans wig sing sometimes it's hard to be a woman then have him sit on a chair moping like he always does about some stupid woman who meant jack to him, I'll call it license to loathe, daniel cregg.
Go on eon you know you want to it's right up your street, get Me John Favreu (director of ironman) and Christopher Nolan and get these guys to make a true bond film because I tell you this right now it could work, it could bring the seriousness and lightheardness and do it the right way unlike your pretentious, preachy crap about a man who hates everyone and his gran, has the manners of the incredible hulk, class of mr bean (wait that's an insult to mr bean) and the face of a womble.
No action, no gadgets, no hot women, no moneypenny, no q, no megolamaniac villains, no bond, NO POINT

Bond....James bond....Rest in peace (1964-2002)

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
If EON wanted a Bond movie with character development, they should have done it with Pierce. In fact, he is the one who desired it greatly. Instead, they wasted his waste and screwed him over with cliche script and storyline, and they placed all the blame to him, thinking they can get away with it. EON (and Purvis & Wade) screwed Pierce up, and they are the same people associated with CR and the reboot, which was greatly praised by fans and critics. This is why Bond 23 NEEDS to CRASH and BURN worse than QOS (especially here in the US), and it doesn't deserve nominations from high profile American movie awards, NOT even a single nomination from the Oscars. If Bond 23 gets a single Oscar nomination even in the technical category, then next Oscars will my last to watch. I have a friend of mine who is an extreme Trekkie and hates the Trek reboot, and he is even upset when the the movie got Oscar nominations.
One single Oscar nomination for Bond 23 = summon Carrot Top as Bond and forget the likes of Hugh, Henry or any other traditional actors for the 7th Bond
