Hugh Jackman spies a chance to be Bond

Post by Blowfeld »

HUGH Jackman could be handed a licence to kill, with the Australian actor hinting at a future role as 007.

In London for the making of his new film Les Miserables, Jackman admitted he had been approached in the past to become British spy James Bond.

"I got a call from my agent saying 'There's some possible interest in you for Bond, are you interested?' " the Sunday Express newspaper reported Jackman saying.

"At the time I wasn't. I was about to shoot X-Men 2 and Wolverine had become this thing in my life.

"But I think every male at some point thinks about playing Bond. So it was not right then but it may be right if it comes back."

George Lazenby is the only other Australian to have played Bond, appearing in the 1969 film On Her Majesty's Secret Service.

Incumbent Bond actor Daniel Craig is due to start filming for the latest Bond flick, expected for release in late 2012, but we would love Jackman shaken not stirred.

Please let this story come to fruition for Bond 24. He could do 3 films in 6 years easily. I want to see Ale in this kitchen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RwIhQG6DVCg

Won't happen even if it did people would recognise jackman more as that's the guy that played wolverine which got him his big break, just like Harry potter for Radcliffe even when he tries new films he'll be forever known as Harry potter not said person from another film.

Bond really needs a no namer but someone that has the charisma, look and suaveness of bond, not saying jackman can't pull it off but it needs to be a new face.

I have a suggestion for the new face if DC's Bond 23 is successful and/or receives even a single Oscar nomination.

Even though I don't mind Hugh taking the part, he's too old to last over 3 films.

If he did actually turn down Casino Royale, then he's partly to blame for Craig.

I don';t know I think Ms Broccoli was sold on Craig long before anyone good for the role could turn it down.

The actor added that if he was offered the role again, he might just take it.
