QoS on TV

Post by MichaelZWilliamson »

My son wants to watch it.

Caught the car chase, surprise standoff, gunbarrel sequence (Wait, there wasn't one) and opening fight scene.

Horrific, chaotic editing. Horrible CGI with crappy overlay and distorted perspective. Nauseating cuts and changes. Worse than I had blissfully forgotten. Image

Huh..my youngest nephew is almost 11(will be in November). I certainly wouldn't start him on the Bond films by letting him watch QOS.

Oh, he's seen them all except Octopussy and Moonraker. He's an aficionado of YOLT and Goldeneye.

Connery or Brosnan. He's not impressed with Moore.

So this bit where Bond tosses a guy off the opera house into a car (and I had trouble following that, too, with the chop-change scenes), then someone shoots him, and it's reported that he did it. Is this M so daft she wouldn't be able to believe a hostile did the shooting ? And Bond won't say so? They'll just immediately split and hinder each other? Because if so, I know the perfect way to interrupt MI6 work...

Yeah its bad but at 11 you son is fine watching it IMHO. If it is on TV the network should have edited out anything objectionable, I dunno like Craig.

If he has seen the others like LTK I doubt there is much in QOS to worry about besides the fact it sucks bad.

MI6 has some freaking cool gear in Libya and Afghanistan and the Bond movies can't find one gadget to wow us with.

It's not the gadgets in particular. It's the gadgets, the boring plot, the predictable chain of events, the marginal acting (due to both story and direction), the bad direction, the awful editing and the second rate effects. Total crapola, generic spy film, unremarkable and unworthy of a 007 byline.

He wasn't very impressed. He spent most of the show building a Lego robot with engines and rocket launchers. I'll send applications to Q branch on his behalf in a couple of years.

I don't know about you, but I say you should watch the Star Wars on blu ray with your kid. Yes, Lucas made changes again. I may not be a fan of the alterations, but I would buy anything over DC's Bonds.

There was a gunbarrel sequence somewhere in QOS if I remember. Some midget fellow (Craig I presume) did a silly walk in it.

So a normal what else is on reaction? :)
I really don't think of the Bond movies as too bad for kids once the reach the age where they can filter out some of the violence and innuendos. It is a fantasy world once they can look at it that way like Harry Potter I try to share my love of the movies..

I do have problem with CR it should be a R movie in my book.

Chief of Staff, 007's gone round the bend. Says someone's been trying to feed him a poisoned banana. Fellow's lost his nerve. Been in the hospital too long. Better call him home.

I heard a great line from "Bleak expectations" a comedy on BBC4 Radio which I think summs up QOS nicely. I paraphrase.

QOS is like a treakle enemma, Messy, unplesant with a few sticky patches.
