They had Clifton James, Richard Kiel, Walter Gotell and Eva Ruba-Staier (sp?) in recurring roles, and I suppose you could add Victor Tourjansky to that, even if his appearances were only cameos.

Fishburne is a good actor so As far as I'm concerned he's a good choice.
Always thought he'd be a Great Blofeld, Menacing, but Physically able to take Bond on in a Fight. :)

From the statistics on the internet it is VERY possible Cr-egg's cowboy calamity might drop to FIFTH this weekend, behind the Apes, the Captain, the Smurfs, and our boy Potter! What a disgrace this will be for ALL concerned who believed in Danielle as a box office sensation. Spielberg, Howard, Favreau, Grazer, and the movie studios that backed this tumbleweed of an actor must have a collective " " on their faces. The green vegetable opened doors he never would have been able to walk through. Now, they will slam the doors shut on his way out and they will all say, GOOD RIDDANCE! FBF, get the champagne out next Sunday after the box office results. :NewYears:

I believe his story The God Thing was slightly adapted an used for Star Trek: The Motion Picture. Roddenberry was given the role of "Executive Consultant" and basically marginalized by Paramount. According to (if I can remember correctly) producer Harve Bennett and director Nicholas Myer, Roddenberry kept pushing for this story he came up with where Captain Kirk and Crew interfere with John Kennedy's assassination in Dallas. This time-travel tale climaxed with Mr. Spock on the infamous "Grassy Knoll".

There may well be a rainbow over my bed this year as I'm going to wet myself laughing if,
C&A, Tin Tin and Girl with Dragon Tatoo all do worse than expected at the boxoffice.

Craig only has a minor role in Tintin so let's not heap hate on it in the belief it's a Craig vehicle! :)

Gene was off his rocker.

Back in the early seasons of TNG Ron Moore pitched in his first script that was about a boy who's mother was a red shirt on the Enterprise, you know what happens to them. He would hide in the holodeck to recreate his family and become attached to the holographic program. Our heroes would try helping him realize that it's unhealthy and that he must move on with his life.

When Roddenberry still had certain control he objected to the script because in his words "in the 24th century, children have a better acceptance of death".

True,Craig's role in Tin Tin is small..but just enough of one to doom the movie(which already seems doomed already-it is coming out much later in the U.S. than everywhere else. They're trying to figure out a way to sell it to American audiences.

Oh dear. More fanboy rants are certain. "BUT THE CHARACTER IS WHITE! EVERYTHING IS RUINED!"
Oh I think you're right on this. Strangely enough though, I haven't yet seen many rants, I have seen people reacting positively but that may be because I avoid fanboys like pest  It's like the whole "A Briton is playing Superman!" thing. Well sorry but Superman is from Krypton. While he is a great part of American "culture", he sure as hell isn't American. White is well, white originally, but since this is an origins movie and a reboot and since his ethnicity is nothing fundamental in the comics, I don't have a problem with him being black.
My opinion? Interesting choice. I do hope we'll get the Perry White who barks orders. Frank Langella was excellently cast, but he played it way too low key to be effective which was a shame.
I agree it is an interesting choice. I really like him as an actor, so I think he will deliver. And he has this imposing type of presence... I agree with you on how he should play the character, I do hope we get the Perry White who barks orders. He sure looks threatening as hell when he has the serious expression. And, he's big enough to convincingly intimidate Cavill when he's in Clark Kent mode (would be quite strange to have someone who's short and thin barking orders at fully beefed up, 6 ft 1 Cavill )

And I think Russell Crowe is a perfect choice for Jor-El.

BJ you crack me up. I am genuinely sorry for the WRITERS involved in C&A, namely Orci and Kurtzman who are great, but they came in to clean the previous mess and clearly it was too late. Mess to begin with, no rewrite or polish fixes it. And I don't like to see people lose money over an investment, BUT this should really teach them a lesson. A)Craig does NOT bring in young viewers. The main problem C&A had against the Smurfs (this is quite hilarious everytime I write it... against the Smurfs LOL) was that young people did NOT go to see it. Most of their public was people 30 and older. Which means... mostly Harrison Ford fans. And also B) Craig is not someone who, per se, brings people to see a movie. If he's in a famous product like Bond, people just go for Bond. But in a production where you need to count on the actors themselves to sell the product, well he doesn't work. Hopefully they finally learnt the lesson. I think he's fine for those small dark movies, where he can play the dark assassin, but really NOT for big Hollywood productions. And he simply isn't leading man material. There's leading men and there are character actors. He's a character actor (and I don't think he's a very good one at that.. he's decent like many others).

Just saw the first image of Cavill as Superman.

I was really hoping for brighter colors but it looks a lot like the darker costume from SR, except with a bigger S symbol. I hope it's just the photo. My big issue with SR was the desaturated murky look. Superman should be bright, bold and colorful. It shouldn't have the same scheme as a Batman film.

Ok, and now we can all see the first result of Henry Cavill as Superman:

http://ow.ly/5V6eG

Man, he looks A-MA-ZING! I absolutely love the more classic Superman look compared to the previous ones, and the S is one from the oldest comics of the 40s. And uhm, why do I also see another iconic hero in that photo despite the Superman attire? (hint hint). This man is bloody perfect to play the hero, and the action hero in particular! (note: uhm some people were saying he was like frail? Which yeah it was ridiculous... well you're served, those bulging muscles are about to explode in the photo...)

Someone pointed out that he looks like he's from a Superman porn parody. I can't argue with that, look at that stare of his, he looks like he's in rape mode.
