so much for Democracy, any poll carried out in the UK shows The majority of people want it back, Yet no politician ( in the main parties, anyway) would. As they don't want to be seen as Un -PC. I also find it amusing that when the governement is forcing Law abiding citizens to pay more for their pensions, work longer for the same pensions or even less, Cut backs in every department Health, social services. Yet we spend a fortune on long term Killers, People who are guilty as sin and if released would very happly kill again, even serial rapists who can't be released as their not "Cured" yet. The return of the Death Penalty would be alot cheaper, Is it not time the criminals did their Bit to help the country.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Those millions who died were due to dictators who hated people. If Adolph Hitler was captured alive, you would have wanted him in confinement daily to repent on his deeds?Alessandra wrote:He won't watch cable or go to the library. He'll be in confinement. Doing something equally barbaric by killing him after he did something barbaric is not justice. That is fake revenge. It also teaches people that killing after someone has killed is the way to "get justice", which couldn't be more wrong. Thankfully Europeans know better than that. I'm firmly against death penalty. Not only it is PROVEN that it does absolutely NOTHING to lower crime rates, but countries who have it have a HIGHER crime rate. So not only it's not worth anything but it's legalized murder. Nobody is God, and that includes the government, and we don't live in Far West times anymore. A government doesn't have ANY right to kill anyone, even when they're caught red-handed. Nobody has a right to take anyone's life. It's murder even if the government does it. And yes he's going to spend a life in cell left with his own thoughts having nothing to do but be there alone. I think that's a far worse punishment than death and a much more effective one and FAR more civilized. No member of the families has spoken up and asked for the guy to be murdered. The thirst for blood is particularly foreign to Northern European countries when it comes to justice (Even though as this guy proved, extremist nutjobs are everywhere). Strange as it may seem to Americans, death penalty disgusts us Europeans for the vast majority. We learnt on our own soil what the horror of war is. We had MILLIONS of deaths with the two World Wars. MILLIONS. In our streets, in our houses, our cities completely destroyed by bombs, EVERYWHERE in Europe. That was enough to make us all horrified about murder and war, NO MATTER who does it, for eternity. My grandparents lived it, my FATHER lived it and grew up an orphan because of it, and he still has the horror in his eyes of people being deported and killed. So yeah, we're dead set against death penalty. And thankfully so. And no, thankfully nobody ELSE is going to be murdered for this, there's been enough so far. Dude is going to be in prison for life, and that's the appropriate punishment.bjmdds wrote:He will watch cable tv every day, go to the library, get 3 square meals a day, read, exercise, and go back to his cell with a soft bed. That's European justice? There was no questioning who did it. He was caught. It's barbaric what HE did. I would let the victims families have a go at him. Ask them if that is justice for them.

Well captain America pulled it off.
I thought everybody hated america? I am not surpassed HP runk so low becuase his opening was so big, where Qos opened ok with Cpt America numbers then dropped off with nobody going back by the 4th week, HP I think will remain busy and that will make the total bigger than three weekends at number 1.

I hope HP 7.2 doesn't drop down big again. This is supposed to be a celebration.

Why is this forum running ads for Cr-egg's western? A bit hypocritical, don't you think?

95% of Cap's gross was domestic. It has yet to be released in most overseas markets. I suspect it won't do as well internationally as Potter - like Green Lantern and Thor, it is based on a second-tier superhero, at least outside his home market. I believe CA is as popular as the likes of Batman and Spiderman in the USA, but not elsewhere.Omega wrote:Well captain America pulled it off.I thought everybody hated america?

There would possibly be a referendum result in favour or restoring capital punishment - unless Nick Clegg and the Liberal Democrats supported it.Thunderpussy wrote:so much for Democracy, any poll carried out in the UK shows The majority of people want it back, Yet no politician ( in the main parties, anyway) would. Just got back from seeing CAPTAIN AMERICA. I can't decide which is my favorite summer flick, that or X-MEN: FIRST CLASS. Both are very good and might as well share the top spot for me. It's nice to see old fashioned colorful adventure summer films again (I didn't really care for Iron Man to be honest).

CvA I hope is a smash, I don't like the looks of it but the guy knew what he was doing in iron man and maybe he put it together right I think the idea is old in 1998 it would be bold and fresh. He have aliens from District nine and just about everywhere else in the last couple years

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
IMDB reviews not good of Roy Rogers Meets The Jetsons. It will BOMB badly and further propagate the end of Danielle as Bond.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Seems like every other ad is for Monsters Vs. Aliens. It's hard to ignore it.

If anyone is familiar with The Rocketeer, that's what you should expect. Except on a bigger budget. It is directed by Joe Johnston afterall.Omega wrote:Can't beat that recommendation! I might see it, my mother has shown interest in it so I might check it out with her. I assume she only wants to see it because of Craig and Ford, what woman wouldn't?CvA I hope is a smash, I don't like the looks of it but the guy knew what he was doing in iron man and maybe he put it together right I think the idea is old in 1998 it would be bold and fresh. That actually surprised me somewhat, when ST11 didn't do as well internationally as expected. I thought Star Trek was popular everywhere.FormerBondFan wrote:And same thing with Star Trek (though not a superhero subject).Kristatos wrote:I believe CA is as popular as the likes of Batman and Spiderman in the USA, but not elsewhere.

I'am not being funny.........but i dont know what you people are basing your views on C&A on.
Because, i've read rave reviews about the film from the North America's top film trade sites.
i.e. Variety & Hollywood Reporter.
I know Craigs in it, but apart from that, the film might actually be very good.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
People I talk with about movies didn't like it, for whatever it's worth. I'd like it to be big, 1`because I like the director and 2 because maybe this Saturday morning Craig will make up and say screw the workout BS I quit Bond.
