Correct young Skywalker. This forum is an independent entity from the publicity of the larger website it belongs to. The DCINB website was a notorious entity prior to CR being released, yet it was the ONLY website that received media attention. MI6,CB.net, etc., were never mentioned by the media. Therefore, this forum, which did not exist prior to CR being released, should now be seen as a viable alternative to the other sites mentioned. It will do so as it defines itself, as it is doing, over time. Pro-Craig individuals have a pre-conceived notion that this forum is no place for them to debate in, which, little by little, is proving much more tolerant of diverse opinions about Eon's direction, than ANY of the Utopian Pro-Craig sites. Good things come to those who wait.......tick tock........tick tock.......Skywalker wrote:I think the forum is great and we who post here know that it is fair. The problem the forum has is the front page and the boycott history. A clean break is needed to show the Bond world we can dispute the selection Of DC without personal attacks and show that this site is constructive in it's criticism.007 wrote:You should have the guts to name names if you are going to say things like that. I profoundly disagree with several posters on here but I welcome a forum which allows debate, which is more than be said for Cbn etc.
Nash is right when he says there are idiots on this site. There are idiots on every site. When I see comments like 'Craig is ugly' without backing up there POV, I understand where the Pro camp are coming from.
Luckily the idiots don't tend to post here very often so we are left with a decent bunch of Bond fans, who for different reasons where not entirely happy with DC/CR.

I disagree with that. More than once I've seen two opposing members agree on a topic or debate over at Mi6.bjmdds wrote:Divergent views, yet respectful of each other, right Nash? But as this is a small community you'll find less members to stir the pot.
I do agree however that this forum is going through a mini transformation at present...if we could just find a better name for it.
And what's with the Hannibal Lecter comment in the post above? It's just creepy.

I still don't agree about levels of tolerance on other sites. I think if anti-Craigers are on the other sites voicing valid concerns about CR (like many of the intelligent posters on here) then it tends to be tolerated and treated as fairly as everyone else.bjmdds wrote:Divergent views, yet respectful of each other, right Nash? Unfortunately, the many anti's that have been on the other other websites have come across as dumb and ignorant, stirred trouble and started flame wars very quickly (Londonium on here for example). Unfortunately, this gives the anti Craigers a bad name, and they end up being tarnished with the same brush.
And bj, you were no angel on there either, my friend. You started off with the tick-tock comment, with bold statements about CR flopping, making bets with other members about it failing, and then once it was released you didn't admit to your poor misjudgement. Had you done that, I think you would have gone up in many people's estimations on there.

Your right BJ. The forum 'is' a seperate entity from the front page and has welcomed alternate views. Without them we would all be voicing our displeasure to ourselves with no counter arguments. The thought of this site without the troublesome trio would be a quite place.bjmdds wrote:

There you go boys and girls. We can all get along.
That doesn't mean we all have to agree, but we should be able to debate topics like adults.
I'm guilty of being overly biased towards Craig, but I think if we can try to give each other a little more respect, then this could be the basis of a good Bond forum with many a worthwhile member.
That's not to say this leopard is gonna change his spots, but I will be less one sided in my comments.

Jetset, I mean Sweeney, I am surprised at you, good buddy. I was on MI6 for 18 months. I CHALLENGE you to show where I EVER said a bad thing, word, or phrase to another fellow poster. My statements about CR failing was MY OPINION, which you would agree I am ENTITLED to, correct? Your Pro-Craig clique, the Luds,Dogbond, Sportstooge, etc., all engaged in attacking anyone who gave contrary opinions, you cannot deny that. Admit to my being wrong about the box office gross? I did that Sweeney, it still was not enough, you know that. The problem is with people such as yourself is that you fail to realize that a person's OPINION is not an actual FACT, and if someone PREDICTS something, that remains to be seen in the future. If you find me ONE instance showing that I was nasty to someone at MI6, I will stand corrected, but I think you will be wasting your time trying to track ONE down, for it just does not exist. The Sweeney wrote:I still don't agree about levels of tolerance on other sites. But you never actually openly came out and said `Oops! My wild predictions were wrong! I still don't like DC in the role, but my original estimation was totally out...'
Instead, you tried to continue with assumptions that somewhere along the line CR had failed either critically or financially.
I may have been wrong by this (I hope I am) but from what I remember at the time, that's the impression I'm stuck with.

Very astute Nash..you are the first person in 2 years to realize where that line comes from.....you know your movie onions!....The website has it's own name already. To be fair BJ you never came across as attack minded IMO. DogBond as an example was there just to stir up trouble and she did get away with it. She never posted on anything other than CR and DC, and the first hint of criticism used to spark her into action. Her tone was very agressive and if you retaliated to the same degree, you ended up getting warned.bjmdds wrote: Jetset, I mean Sweeney, I am surprised at you, good buddy. I was on MI6 for 18 months. Prior to Luds locking another thread of mine, which was very popular, I did admit CR was successful, but I refused to say Craig was good in the role, for I still feel he was grossly lacking, which is my opinion. Also, pointing out HF constantly beat CR at the box office 'in the USA' was a factual statement. As you admit, I was ALWAYS cordial to all, yet I was not treated the same by the others, EXCLUDING you, Sweeney. The Sweeney wrote:I never said you were ever nasty on there, because you are right - you never were!bjmdds wrote:Jetset, I mean Sweeney, I am surprised at you, good buddy. 98% of the members on MI6 are pro-Craig and they allow their pit bulls to disrupt contrary debate. You are correct, Doggie never got banned, yet those who responded to her in kind did. For me, the statement which proved the bias at MI6 was when Luds, the so-called Minister of Defense, from Canada, told me, "This is NOT a democracy here". That quote said it all!Skywalker wrote:To be fair BJ you never came across as attack minded IMO. DogBond as an example was there just to stir up trouble and she did get away with it. I can only speak from my own time there and I only got hostility from a couple of members. I actually got several nice messages from Pro-Craigers after writing a synopsis of CR which was far more critical than anything else that had been posted on that particular thread at the time.bjmdds wrote: 98% of the members on MI6 are pro-Craig and they have allow their pit bulls to disrupt contrary debate. One member in particular wrote me a really nice pm stating that he disagreed with me but enjoyed my post and thought it was the most honest and constructive post he had read. (obviously easily pleased).
