Bond 23 Shooting in South Africa?
James Bond is a well-known globe trotter, but there's one country he hasn't shot in yet: South Africa. That's reportedly about to change.
According to MI6, "Former England international cricketer Darren Gough spilled the beans as he sat next to (Bond 23 producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson) during a first class Virgin flight to Johannesburg earlier today. Gough said that they were travelling to scout locations for the film. Whether their location work is based just in South Africa is unclear."
South Africa has been an oft-rumored possible location for a Bond film -- and has been a popular location for film productions in general -- due to the country's financial incentives.
Bond 23 begins filming this fall for a November 9, 2012 release.

Err does eon have amnesia or are they not very bright..becuase I thought live and let die was filmed in africa when Roger Moore first started the role.
Christ even the media are stupid enough to forget, if you want a new location put James Bond in Ireland, I wonder if this film is simpled gonna be titled live and let die..because we haven't seen that film before or heard of that name, stupid media.

Oh, the conversations that can be overheard during a flight.
Former England international cricketer Darren Gough overheard a conversation between James Bond 23 director Sam Mendes and producer Barbara Broccoli as he sat next to them in first class of a Virgin flight to Johannesburg this week.
Gough explained the pair was traveling to scout for locations for the film. It is not known where in South Africa the director and producer plan to visit.
James Bond has never had an adventure in South Africa, although the villains Wint and Kidd visited the country in 1971’s “Diamonds Are Forever.”
South Africa has often been rumored as a possible location for a James Bond film. The country is very popular for film productions due to financial incentives.
In 2006’s “Casino Royale,” the producers planned to shoot part of the film in South Africa, but the plans changed during mid-production.
The twenty-third installment of James Bond films will begin production in November later this year. Actor Daniel Craig is currently in England filming the English remake of “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” as the lead role of Mikael Blomkvist.
The theater release date is set for November 9th in 2012.

TSWLM was filmed in Egypt which I believe is still part of Africa, and TLD filmed in Morocco, lets check the map.. Why that's Africa too!
Bond is shown in Africa several times in the movies series but most of the time they substituted the locations. Problem is these reports are regurgitating drivel from MI6 crew again and they were the ones who did not fact check. Of course they'll try to parse it with South Africa. A lot of low budgets movies have been made there.
Babs and Sam flew Virgin?, that makes sense since they have bummed rides from Virgin before.

Yes, Moore's Bond has been to Africa. So has Connery's Bond and Craig's Bond I believe.Goldeneye wrote:Mazer Rackham » Thu Apr 07, 2011 4:09 pm

They never filmed there, not too uncommon. The Republic of South Africa has never had a Bond filmed there. There was a decedent map that showed where Bond had traveled in the movies.Bond77 wrote: Yes, Moore's Bond has been to Africa. So has Connery's Bond and Craig's Bond I believe.
Re: Bond 23 Scouting Locations In South Africa?
I should have been more clear. The stories involve African nations. For instance, South Africa plays an important role in Diamonds Are Forever, but Las Vegas and Pinewood Studios doubled for the diamond rich nationMazer Rackham wrote:They never filmed there, not too uncommon. I hope if they do film in S.Africa, they get a decent Director of Photography. Who'll capture the great beauty of the country with some stunning wide shots, rather than whizz through the country with a Cameraman suffering from visual turrets like in QOS.

I guess it is good they are scouting locations. I wouldn't use twitter as a source. It may well be accurate but the news is already filled with errors and bogus reports I wouldn't add to it by pretending to know what is going on with Bond 23 because some twitters about seeing them on a plane. Maybe that's just me.

Given that planes have flown the same way for years and work very well, I'm suprised Babs wasn't trying to "Improve" the wign shape to a thick square, and the Fuselage to a more Banana shape, have the seating on the Roof to save on floor space. After all her Ideas are so good, and have worked so well up till now.

There is more evidence for Craig's Gay Bar excursions than this.Interesting how they pick and choose what is legitimate. If they are going to S.Africa it has got to be because their budget is going to be next to nothing.Scorpion King 2 was filmed there fine legacy to build on for what will be Qos2.

Between Craig's "experimenting", and him dressing in drag, his masculinity is really in question.

QOS, with a huge Budget, looked crap.It looked like a cheap 80's flick. So if QOS2 has a tight budget God knows what it's going to look like,Probably a straight to DVD movie.
