It shouldn't come to this, meaning it probably will. Both times the franchise did a much need retool it was on the cusp being lost (after 1974 & 1989). Casino Royale was the first time they retooled and rebooted when the franchise was actually very healthy.

Casting Craig was a brave decision and looking back it maybe one of their greatest mistakes. They cemented themselves with Craig and do not have a lot of room to maneuver. With Craig the story can't go much further and it has already gone off the rails whit a second film! ( ) For the sake of the future of the franchise they should recast and take a new direction. Honestly after Craig leaves they are not going to continue his kind of movies so they might as well move now before Bond loses any more momentum. And lose momentum is what a Mendes helmed film is likely to do. With another director I would be more willing to give them another chance.
I am afraid you're exactly right. They very simply can't afford to continue with "craig's" kind of movies, very simply because well, while everyone was willing to give it a chance with CR, the same CANNOT be said about QoS given it booked a loss. So the real problem, as you said, is not to lose any more momentum. Thing is, Bond 23 is most definitely shaping up to be another QoS, because of the director they've picked and the WRITERS they have picked (I'm serious, my worries increased x1000 when I saw that they hired LOGAN of all people). We (we fans who want the franchise to actually survive and get back to what it is supposed to be, which means nothing like what Craig did as non-Bond) can't afford this to tank, either. And thing is, unless Mendes for some reason understands that he can't do what he seemingly has in mind, or he'll kill the franchise, I don't think there's an easy way out of this. Again, I really and I mean REALLY don't want Bond 23 to tank because I want the franchise to be handed over to Cavill, and if this tanks the franchise may just be dead... but I understand we need for Babs's pompous ego to take a serious beating (and that means a lesson at the box office) in order for this to freaking end. So I basically need to calculate how much they need to lose for the franchise to still survive but Babs to be finally taken out of the equation (which WILL happen if this doesn't do too well, since the war between MGM/Sony on the one side and EON on the other is ongoing already).

Help Mazer? How much do you think we need them to lose at box office? This is just sad by the way... that we can't count on producers' sensibility AT ALL because the woman who picked Craig can't just be outnumbered STAT. (Especially considering she is NOT the sole owner...) It had to get to bankruptcy and Sony being back in the picture for MGM to finally be forced to show some backbone and start understanding that this can't go on. I just find it SAD.
If Cr-egg is in it, it will be pure dread anyway, so it really does not matter. Once he finishes bombing in Roy Rogers Meets The Jetsons, Hollywood will take heed and that will be it for his career once and for all.
  I had MISSED the gem BJ. You're a genius. Roy Rogers Meets The Jetsons

Saw the trailer for the girl with the dragon tattoo, what the hell is that crap, lol creggs still only got one blank stare expression (like some of the terrible enemies with the one blank stare expression in the original star trek except creggs brought it to the 23rd century  ).

Similar to this Image Image cregg sorta reminds Me of one of the thunderbird puppets in that poster with that expression, thinking of it he does seem to look a lot like one of the thunderbird puppets.

Why don't we have DC in the next Trek movie or series and have Sadowitz as the next Bond like our friend bondnotblonde suggested?

Thank you!someone else thinks that trailer is AWFUL. sorry for the shouting but it's true! The only plus sides: That Fincher hired several Swedish actors(Stellan Skarsgard is in it) and the music in the trailer(a cover of Immigrant Song by Led Zeppelin.) But come on? The tagline is "The feel bad movie of Christmas? And this sh!t is getting rave reviews elsewhere. W.T.F.

(Talks in austin powers voice) honestly it's not mine  , I've done voicework for some of My animations on youtube and done some impressions of red drawf characters but that's it so far.

Katied: sadly we're in an age where crap gets rave reviews, 6 years ago that wasn't acceptable, hence why reality tv rules, great television is hard to find and musics greats are now jusine beaker and lady (shemale not sure what it is) gargah a word usually associated with a baby before they can learn to speak a few years later, funnily enough it would've bene ironic if poker face was released the same time as casino royale, here bond goes, oh god noes, here he shows his poker face, I don't want to be a numpty, here he goes, here he goes, oh god noes, here he shows his poker face, then he passes out from a really bad curry, hah hah ha hah hah hah.

I kinda wish kanye west somehow interrupted casino royale somehow now, bond: now tell us where is he (kanye randomly comes out of nowhere), kanye: hey daniel, I'm happy for you but I'm a lett ya finish, I'm a let ya finish, but Brosnan, Connery, Moore are still the best bonds of all time, of all time ! (kanye drops the mic and randomly dissapears).

Two words describe why current celebrity status has exposed the sickness in our society and is deemed some kind of talent: KIM KARDASHIAN...........can any human being in their right mind tell me how THIS Stepford remake merits any attention, let alone a career? Forget her porno romp, that's history. Who cares what the heck she does?

How can anyone look at this and regard the image as tolerable? http://boxofficemojo.com/img/c/cowboysa ... 00086R.jpg I'd rather look at this http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~kycar ... rs_roy.jpg or this http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/e ... etsons.jpg From this day forward, I will refer to Cr-egg's western disaster as Roy Rogers Meets The Jetsons.

The only reason that the Dragon Tattoo remake pasts muster with the fanboys is because David Fincher directed it.

Have you guys ever seen the original TGWADT? While I'm still not a fan of Craig, I don't think the remake should be hated just because Craig's in it. First, it was a directed by David Fincher, and second, the book and the original was good and the remake looks like it's gonna be a good adaptation also. I don't want this forum to labeled again as a shallow Craig hating site as it was before we post this in front of the site:

James Bond didn't need a reboot, but this website did. Its origins were as a site arguing that Pierce Brosnan should be kept on as Bond and calling for a boycott of Casino Royale. However, the consensus on our forum was that this no longer reflected our aims as an online community. This site has acquired a new function. Casino Royale created a sort of herd mentality on other Bond fansites. Those critical of the current orthodoxy on Craig have been made to feel unwelcome on the traditional James Bond forums and most have either left, had their account deleted, or stopped posting altogether. The Daniel Craig is not Bond forum provides a haven where people are free to debate the current direction of the Bond franchise in a democratic fashion.

THIS IS NOT A DANIEL CRAIG HATE SITE. Daniel Craig is not the devil, merely a talented actor who we feel was miscast as James Bond. For some of us, the issue is the fact that he looks so unlike any of the previous actors to play the role or any general conception of James Bond. Others feel that he appears too uncouth compared to the suave Bond we know and love. This was a widespread view when his name was first linked to the part, even from those who mysteriously fell into line when he was cast in November 2005.

Many of us are also unhappy at the decision to "reboot" the series, ignoring the previous 20 Bond films and starting the series again from scratch. We feel this was an unnecessary and cynical move, aimed at expanding the fanbase by disparaging a series of films that we love. Whilst few of us would object to the series changing to reflect audience tastes, Casino Royale and its attendant publicity seemed to send out the message to long term Bond fans that the previous films were all rubbish and you were idiots for enjoying them. Casino Royale set out to be a Bond film for people who don't like Bond films. Well, that ain't us! If this is Bond 2.1, then we preferred Bond 1.0.
BOND sells, NOT CRAIG
The reboot is a risky area, did Eon need to do it? NO. Did this confuse alot of people? YES.
The Bond character will always be anchored in the values of the 60s

I truly want The Millenium Trilogy to be a smashing success and CvA wile we are at it. I want Daniel to be so busy and happy he'll leave 007 without second thoughts. My concern is Daniel is not going to be a very good Mikael Blomkvist.

I'll give C&A a pass since I'm going to put everything I have on the final chapter of Potter. For the Millennium trilogy, perhaps I would give it a chance.

Cowboys is lame looking story, we all know how it will play out. MIB 3 too. Although it has that MIB mystique to help it. MIB the cartoon did the Cowboys and aliens theme 10 years ago.
If it does make a success of itself then it rest squarely on Craig shoulders becuase he is doing Bond 23. What happened with that picture GE had of saddle sore Craig?

Maybe the GWTDT trailer was just the first one. My opinion of it it is also not helped by he fact that it was filmed with a video camera while sitting in the audience at a movie theater. That *would* affect the quality of the trailer.
