From what I am seeing, Cavill should excel in the role IF the public is not too tired already of the Superman storyline. They don't seem to be tired of all of the other suoerheros so far, in fact, the superhero film now DOMINATES Hollywood's lack of originality.

Smallville worked because it wasn't quite superman once he is superman the stories start to be less impressive IMO in the comics he swoops in invulnerable to everything he doesn't need to think just push through whatever it is with his great strength. Batman works because their is always something interesting about him and the bad guys he fights, same for spider-man. I'd like to see Cavill's superman in the hopes it will be a truly great film, with the team behind it is possible.

Amy Adams is a decent choice but I never seen Lois as an older woman to CK/Superman. I think she got the role because of her Fighter fame.

I know a few things about the plot for this new one, in which apparently he goes back to the roots because a mission goes bad, and he questions his status as Superman... so I guess that's the angle you were asking for, Omega? And, remember there's always kryptonite for Supes... that kills him!

He looks like a 60 year old retiree who just sucked on a lemon and is out with his daughter for the afternoon.

He looks tragically bad in that photo. The hell? I mean not that I think he looks spectacular normally, but really?

The lack of news on Bond 23 is just absurd at this point... it really means they will scramble stuff together last-minute. And that can just NEVER be good for any movie, let alone for a movie to be produced by the notoriously inefficient EON monkeys... I'm starting to think there may be sabotage ongoing, because really?

The heads have no brains and Eon is making what looks like another flimsy semblance of a non-Bond film which should end Cr-egg's career as Bond, especially after his Annie Oakley film comes out shortly and it bombs weekend number 2.

Does anyone need or want another James Bond film with Daniel Craig playing 007?

Well the next film, will determine a lot about the franchise...obviously Craig is in the film, but if Bond 23 isnt critically and publically well received, then he Craig, could hang up his licence.
We all know that QOS survived, due to the expectations raised after CR, but Bond 23 wont have that luxury, coming off the back of QOS.
Somehow i dont think Bond 23 under the guidance of the direction of Sam Mendes, will turn out to be a mess like QOS......but u never know.

Anyway.........i think BB will throw tons of cash at DC to tempt him to keep playing Bond, regardless of the performance of the films.

It will be interesting to see how DC's non Bond films of the next couple of years or so turn out.

'Cowboys and Aliens'...........um i might go to see this film if it is positively received!

Why, it just reeks of a fun experience for $13.00 here in the USA.................NOT! I would prefer to stand in a fruit market for free and watch bananas rot over time. The gall of Hollywood to try to pass this barbaric entity off as a lead actor!

Absolutely not GS. In fact, I could care less about ANY facet of a Cr-egged up Bond film. He must go, along with his Eon counterpart.

The trouble with coming back with Daniel is he is old news. The Broccoli family decided not to come back with Pierce 2 years after DAD, a 2005 or 2004 Bond with him would not have been a long Hiatus as some were claiming too much time had passed to use him once more. 2006 was because Eon was not ready, not Pierce, not the writers whom had the script ready to go late 2004 early 2005.

Despite Eon's own desire to generate a fiction of excitement my personal opinion in The Craig Era had seen it best days already. It is franchise endangering to continue with the old gritty circa 2003 model after it has become passé to this generation.

Regarding cinema.....i normally go say half a dozen times a year to the multiplex, but i dont think i've been to see a film this year, and i cant think of any films that are worth going to see!........Are there any good films coming out this year, which members here are looking forward to seeing?

Cowboys seems lame to me. Plenty of movies coming out this summer that seem good. I do think if Cowboys is a big success it will be becasue of Craig he is doing his Bond routine

t know if it is as insulting as I feel it is. I would like CvA to be successful enough to warrant a sequel if only to get Daniel on to greener pastures sooner rather than later. While Bond can still be saved.

Again, as Katie said, because of Harrison Ford and Olivia Wilde, certainly not because of Daniel Craig. With the massive names behind it I would be SUPER surprised if it wasn't a big success. On the other hand, having seen trailers for it, I think it looks TERRIBLE. And I mean terrible. So who knows... still, considering publicity and names behind it, I'd be extremely surprised if it didn't do well.

And yes, I'm finally back, I couldn't log into the forum for some reason I have a question: why did we lose the original smileys? These triangular-faced ones are pretty scary Some of the others are in original format though. Is it just me?

That car was on Deadline . Com last night. I assume it is a serious advertisement. Do movies advertise on race cars?

Smacks of Last Action Hero. Still I wouldn't be surprised for it to do well. However overseas Cowboys are not a big fascination.
