A pretty boy?! what the hell is so pretty about him? He's ok but nothing special. Maguire is much "prettier" IMO. I do think this dude will be fine though. IMO he is more convincing as SpiderMan than Maguire, if only for the fact his face is less round and soft and has more cheekbones and angles. I always found Maguire to be way too baby-faced for the part. Of course the perfect one for this too would have been Mr Cavill. Firmly in the Superman camp here at this point!

My forum name comes from the song Marvin Hamlisch composed for the opening sequence in The Spy Who Loved Me. It is a disco rendition of Monty Norman's "James Bond Theme", and probably disliked by many, but I must admit that I enjoy it.

I quite like it too. In the original TSWLM it was very loud during the Lotus chase. On the DVD they have tuned it down, now it's almost inaudible. I consider the change a real blasphemy.

Rick Sylvester is a Hollywood stuntman, most famous for his BASE jump using skis and a Union Flag parachute from Canada's Mount Asgard for the James Bond movie The Spy Who Loved Me in July 1976. In 1973, he skied off the top of El Capitan and descended 3000' by parachute. This was conceived as "the world's greatest ski jump". Already an expert skier, he spent 3 weeks learning sky diving to make this jump. He has since retired from stunt work.

It would be great to have some of the old magic back. and I've seen some extreme skiers doing amazing stuff almost like the skateboarders skiing across bridge Handrails etc. But with the new crappy realism I'd say Like in QOS Bond will either just shoot someone or Puch somebody in the face.

True most guys in the UK would like to be Bond and to drive an Aston Martin.
You can't get much better than having a CV saying you played James Bond.

Bond films used to stand out from the crowd, and it used to be such an event to see the next film, but now they've sort of just become part of the crowd.
Somehow, or someone needs to inject a bit of sparkle back into the franchise. They need to be memorable for the right reasons, not forgettable i.e. when talking about villians, people will remember Goldfinger or Blofeld, not Dominic Green: or henchmen people remember Grant, Oddjob and Jaws, but Elvis......i don't think so.

You've made a good pont there shaken not stirred, I remember watching Goldfinger during the car chase you can clearly see Connery smilling as he uses the gadgets, the same with Brosnan in TND, He's enjoying himself in the back driving the car.I think Both actors knew the audiance would be enjoying it too and smiling along with them.
I loved the big Stunts of the Moore era But at the moment Other Movies are doing it Better,The fight scenes in Taken where much better than QOS and Ironman and Batman look more spectacular, even comming up with new Ideas for stunts, like the lorry flip from the Dark Knight.
While the latest outings for Bond seem to be Old ideas, or Lack of imagination. Unless there is a major change I feel Bond will become more and more like any other action Hero, Basicly everthing that made Bond over the years is being thrown out.

My only experience is with him is Social Network he did not impress me as a good fit for Peter Parker. I am not the worlds biggest Spider-man aficionado either. I'll see the movie sometime, probably not in theatres.

Some good points. In my opinion the Pierce Brosnan era did decently on villains (mastermind and hired help) althou the evil doer in DAD was a little too lite weight, too milk toast for my tastes if you will. Dalton had some memorable stunt works and OK villians. Roger Moore era had hits and misses usually a hit. Sean Connery and George Lazenby had of course the most memorable villains.

Spidey reboot is a DVD viewing for me. I'll be seeing Trek 2 (not II as in TWOK) in theaters instead of this too soon reboot.

Agreed about the villains, Blowfeld.

I think the real problem right now is that

a)they're focused on producing movies that don't resemble Bond in the slightest, and Barbara Broccoli is MAKING A POINT of this

and B) they have such LOUSY script writers that there is no way they come up with anything brilliant anyway.

Logan just sucks, and Purvis & Wade have been stripped of whatever type of fantasy they had since Babs the queen of obvious copying from random action movies imposes the "he's politically correct! he is not Bond! He is daaaarrrrk and twisttyyyyy" line. Makes me want to scream. With the potential and the tradition they have with this franchise, they're literally throwing it all away for nothing more but the CAPRICE of a spoiled child. That would be her, never having to worry about money her entire life and inheriting a great thing from her father only to trash it and completely destroy it. Unbelievable. Let's just hope the latest feud with MGM and Sony re-entering the picture really mean her demise (and obviously Craig's) is closer.

And BJ, that idea for stunts for Cavill as Bond (ah, an actual James Bond... seems like an impossible task to achieve at the moment. Ugh.) is AWESOME! Now I want them, too! And he should be well used to it after filming Superman

This Dragon tattoo film, what the heck is the premise for this storyline and WHY is egghead the lead? Why him? He's nothing, he has no box office appeal, so why? Cavill will excel in the role and further disgrace the joke that was Routh as Superman.
